RE: re iphone advice please

2021-12-10 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Let's hope it will be more interesting than the 10th anniversary when the
iPhone X came out, if I remember correctly that phone was a 1-year wonder and
discontinued in 2018 with the release of the XS and XR.
In any case, I doubt Apple will make the release of a phone with under-display
Touch Id in addition to Face Id or one without ports or one which folds or
maybe one you can roll up like a carpet conditional to the 20th or 25th
anniversary, these advances come when they come.

RE: My First Favorite Feature of Apple Watch Series 7

2021-12-10 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi mark,

I have the series 7 gps

I'd seen that hand washing feature
But I've never tried it,
Now you make me rethink that when I need to tomorrow.
You make it sound more interesting than I thought it would be.

Subject: My First Favorite Feature of Apple Watch Series 7

Hello All,

Today, I purchased an Apple watch series 7, cellular. My previous watch
was the series 4 so this is kind of a big upgrade.

I was delighted that I was able to setup my series 7 from a backup of my series
4. As a result, virtually all of my settings were transferred to the new watch.

So, I decided to give this new hand-washing timer a try. I have to admit, it
is kind of fun.

I have always considered myself to be a rather thorough hand washer but, as of
my new purchase, I find that I need to work a little harder to get the job done
right (smile).

Anyway, the hand-washing detection / timer feature is most definitely my first
new favorite feature of Apple watch series 7.

What a wonderful tool to have onboard. Bravo, Apple.

Mark

Though I didn't read the linked article, I also doubt the iPhone is
going anywhere anytime soon. I remember hearing somewhere that the
iPhone is a large portion of Apple's business and their sales, and
given that, it doesn't make sense for them to fade out a product which
over 2 billion people have. What is more likely is the iPhone of 2029
is probably going to look different or have different ports, or no
ports, than the iPhones many of us have today.

RE: Sending Text Message Question

2021-12-10 Thread Carolyn
Actually, I do remember a time or two getting the swish, when I happened to
have typed a message. I just never broke it down, figured sometimes it worked,
sometimes it didn't.

Yes, when you send a message using the messages app, you get the swoosh sound,
but not when you have Siri dictate and send the message.

This first started with the 15 update.

My prediction is that it will take a lot longer than that for the iPhone in
whatever form to go away. Just because Apple introduced the Apple Watch does
not mean the iPhone is going away and I don't think that will be different with
these goggles. I think there are many people who may not want to run around
with goggles on their head all day long and while such articles with such
titles are pretty successful in getting people to click on them, I think their
ability to correctly predict what will happen is less successful. Despite the
computing power of today's smartphones and even smart watches desktops and
laptops are still being sold and actually in the last 2 years in record numbers
and the emergence or introduction of some AR or VR goggles will not cause the
smartphone to disappear any time soon.

This may seem like a comical thing to say when Apple is about to potentially

One non-Accessibility relared point, the SE has the same chip as the
11, so its hardware is over 1 year newer than the XR model. So for the long
run, the SE has a chance of being supported longer; otherwise, accessibility is
really the same in all iPhone models.
The difference is, as Wayne pointed out, does the person require the

Hello. Basically, do you want a home button or not. The SE 2020 has a home
button, which many blind folk consider to be more accessible.
However, the newer phones after the 10 series, though they don't have home
buttons, they are just as accessible. Basically, you slide a finger up from the
bottom or down from the top. Based on the vibrations you feel and noises you
hear, you can access the home screen, app switcher, notification or control
centers. I've been using this newer style since the XR. Though there was an
initial adjustment period, it did not take me long to get the hang of the new
way. Now, I pick up my 2020 SE for work and find myself wanting to use the same

2021-12-10 Thread Richard Turner
This seems to be an issue in iOS 15.1.1 or possibly since 15. I've run into
this too.
Try connecting the keyboard again.
Then, press the left+right arrow keys together to toggle QuickNav off. Make
sure VO says QuickNav off, then switch back to your computer with the keyboard.
The phone should behave better now.
At least, this is working for me when that happens.

Annoying as hell. I cannot duplicate it 1005 so haven't sent the steps to
Apple to alert them.

Hi.

I used a Bluetooth keyboard to unlock my iPhone X. I switched the keyboard back
to my computer, but now my phone is acting strange. Whenever I unlock it and
get to where I enter my pass code, I hear the tone that indicates the phone is
in edit mode, ready for a Bluetooth keyboard to enter the numbers. Also, when I
use my finger to enter the numbers on the screen, when I lift my finger, I hear
a click noise, as if a Bluetooth keyboard were being used. I haven't noticed
anything such as on screen keyboards missing, but I rarely use those to enter
texts.

Is there anything I need to be aware of, or is all good.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

CapitalOne app issues

2021-12-10 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
Hi guys:

Is anyone having issues with the Capitalone iPhone app?

I cannot select an external account to transfer money. I can choose another
Capitalone 360 account but not my external bank account. Can anyone repro?

RE: Bose frames

2021-12-10 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Yes,
As I had said, the bose music app is what you need for all the current top of
the range bose frames,
The latest products from bose in the way of wifi / Bluetooth speakers use the
music app.

Sorry I have the Tempos, but after rereading your message, I see you're asking
about the Tenors. I checked the App Store, and the Bose Music app is indeed the
app you want for the Tenors. Sorry about that.

For the Tempos, you'll want the Bose Music app. I don't think it's strictly
necessary though, but you can use it to check a few things on the Tempos and
set a few settings.

Hi everyone, I purchased Bose frames tenor today at Best Buy, on sale for $220.
Do I need to download some type of bose app to begin using these?
Thanks,
Dan

None of the frames would really come close to rayban aviator sun
 glasses,

The closest would be the sports / tempo model of the glasses,

 Tenor are more squarish
Rondo are round like old granny glasses, Serprano are more tear
drop shaped sort of flicking up in to a wing kind of shape at the
outer corner of the eyes, These are more a womens glasses,

 The closest
I think would be the tempo which are wrap around.

Hi Rick and everyone; Rick can you tell me or can anyone tell me
what style glasses resemble the aviator style glasses? I have a
pair of sunglasses that are aviator style and they’re very
comfortable for me. I’d like to get a pair of Bose frames that
would resemble the Raybans. The glasses are Raybans. Thank you stay
 safe
