And that is what the 4-finger tap on the bottom half of the screen is for, if 
done correctly it will take you to the last element on the screen and on the 
Today View that happens to be the Edit button.

I think you are not seeing the edit button because you have a lot on todays 
screen. I have the same issue both on my iPad and my iPhone.
Here how I was able to reach the edit button. On today’s screen I swiped up 
with three fingers until the edit button appeared on the lower right corner of 
my screen. Swiping right with one finger did not do it for me. It simply put me 
at the end of page one of today’s screen. I found the edit button at the end of 
page two of Today’s screen which happened to be page two.

That makes sense, but no matter what I do I don’t find the edit button. If I 
flick right this morning I end up at Mail, which is an app I’ve used today. The 
phone simply goes “bonk.” I’ve tried both flicking right and a four-finger 
single tap near the bottom of the screen. Nie gesture gets to any kind of an 
edit field. I have tried re-booting my phone but nothing changes.
Maybe I should call Apple Accessibility. Thanks anyway. I do understand how it 
should work, but it doesn’t.

Your problem is that  you are going  into Edit mode in the search field and at 
that point a 4-finger single tap on the bottonm half of the screen will take 
you to the last element on the screen which would be the dictate button on the 
keyboard.

Don't double tap on that search field, just go to the Today View and do a 
4-finger tap near the bottom of the screen or just continue to flick right 
until you get to the very bottom and you find the Edit d button I mentioned. 
Now double tap, then go again to the very end by flicking right a lot or again 
use the 4-finger tap and you find the customize button.
Once you activate customize you get to choose from all the options and you can 
add items to the Today View, remove others which are already there if you don't 
want them and reorder what is showing the way you want.

Hi Richard and all.  Still having issues with the today screen.  From the home 
screen I flick down with one finger to get to the showing today view.  It puts 
me on a search text field.  There is an edit field there.   If I double tap  
edit it brings up a keyboard. It also shows a few other things.  I stayed in 
that edit field and did a 4-finger single tap which took me to the dictate 
field. That’s obviously not what I wanted, so I tried again doing as you 
suggested.  When I do a 4-finger single tap at the bottom of the screen I hear 
“screen time, pyramid 13 4 minutes.”  I tried flicking right with no results.  
Just for fun I tried flicking left. I hear all the apps I’ve used today with 
the number of minutes I used each one.  I do eventually see my photos app, 
hearing aid batteries charge, and iphone 13 mini and it’s battery charge. I 
really want to move my apple news and my weather widget to the today view.  I 
am running IOS 15.2 on my 13 mini. This is getting personal and I refuse to be 
defeated by this cute little phone.  Sorry for the continued questions.  It’s 
probably something very basic I’m missing. If you think this is not appropriate

Yeah it's an issue with the current watch os version,

So if you get to the right end of the page and then flick down if you're on 
page 3 etc,

And hold your finger at that page 2 or 1 junction point,
For a second or so it should kind of jump in to the page / level you want,

But the one I've started doing is using hey siri to pause or end my workouts
As it's easier to do with this touch screen issue,
Even though now I've figured out the way around the touch screen troubles.

I can move from screen to screen, but the move doesn't stay.  Screen
2 becomes screen 3 when I flick left for the information that should be

If you completed setting up Face I d and it's not working maybe ask a sighted 
person to help you at first, it could simply be that you are not holding the 
phone correctly.
Definitely it will help to turn off attention mode.

I am sorry, I downloaded Microsoft Authenticator and my Outlook account was 
blocked and it took me 24 hours to get it resolved.
A sighted friend came over and he fixed my Voiceover problem.
We had to agree with a two-line text message by saying ok. The dialog box does 
not stay long enough for me to read the text and hit ok button.
So, VoiceOver problem is taken care off and now the new challenge is setting up 
face ID.
I have created it by completing the process 100 percent but it is not working.
I, either have done something wrong or I did not complete something yet. Is 
setting up face ID multiple-step process?
Any help is much appreciated.

Renzia asked my apple ID and Password to complete the process.
She is Indian and we communicated in Hindi. She activated the E-SIM and asked 
me whether she should activate accessibility, I said yes thinking that she 
meant turning on Voiceover.
So now the phone is on and rings when there is a call.
I asked a sighted-friend to stop by my place after work and have a look at the 
phone.

So is the phone already set up, e.g. did they go through the setup in the 
store, put in your Apple Id and all that? If so and if the phone has a cellular 
connection then asking SIRI to turn on Voiceover may indeed work; she may have 
enabled the side button to bring up the accessibility menu instead of Voiceover 
directly. Remember it for when you get another new phone in however many years 
and make sure you always try this in the store to make sure it works.

What you can do, go into settings, go into accessibility, then go way over to 
the right keep going until you get to shortcut for it says shortcut before that 
but it says and you double tap on that and you get all the suggestions you want 
for short cut VoiceOver is one of them so double tap on that and that will be 
selected so then you will be able to use your side button to triple click the 
button three times to turn on and off voiceover.

First of all, did you "teach" your phone to recognize your face? This has to be 
done in Settings > Face Id and Passcode just as you used to have to teach your 
phone to recognize your finger print on phones which had the Touch id home 
button.

First you need to enable dictation under settings, general, keyboard. It is

is and that includes the ultra high priced Airpods Max headphones:

So, I'll continue to wait for a Sonos headset which will of course add the

I have that turned off by default. I just find that my volume on phone calls 
raises and lowers on its own.

Fazil,

 

Depending on the extent at which you’ve set up your new iPhone, I think you 
should start over by erasing all content and settings and beginning again. This 
time when the phone restarts after everything is erased, you’ll press the side 
power button three times quickly to activate Voiceover. You should then be 
taken through the new phone setup screens Simon keeps referencing in his posts 
and you apparently don’t understand what he means. To erase all content and 
settings and revert your phone to what it was when taking it brand new out of 
the box, go to Settings, General, Transfer or reset iPhone which will be the 
next to last item on the screen. After double tapping on Transfer or reset 
iPhone, the last item on the screen will be Erase all content and settings 
which will return your iPhone to what it was when brand new. You should be 
prompted to do the quick setup Simon has been mentioning where you hold your 
old iPhone near your new one in order to transfer its content to the new one.

Actually, the girl in the store started the phone to complete the paperwork 
process and she asked me whether I want to transfer data? I said, don’t worry 
about it, I’d take care of it.

When I came home, I could not connect it with iTune because I did not have the 
correct plug to connect the phone to the computer.

Secondly, I could not start Voiceover because in the store, the girl asked me 
to start accessibility, I thought she was asking about Voiceover.

So, Voiceover was not there. A sighted friend started voiceover.

Now I do not have those option of setting up the phone.

How can I transfer the data now?

I have paid iCloud, can it help?

But on that same page should be the maunual and quick setup,

Select the quick setup.

Yeah it's an issue with the current watch os version,

So if you get to the right end of the page and then flick down if you're on 
page 3 etc,

And hold your finger at that page 2 or 1 junction point,
For a second or so it should kind of jump in to the page / level you want,

But the one I've started doing is using hey siri to pause or end my workouts 
As it's easier to do with this touch screen issue,
Even though now I've figured out the way around the touch screen troubles.

And hey siri restart workout 
Work fine,
 Not everyone likes it.

I can move from screen to screen, but the move doesn't stay.  Screen 
2 becomes screen 3 when I flick left for the information that should 
be there.  Instead, it says 'more', and tapping on 'more' doesn't do anything.

Thanks much, Simon.

Actually, the girl in the store started the phone to complete the paperwork 
process and she asked me whether I want to transfer data? I said, don’t worry 
about it, I’d take care of it.

When I came home, I could not connect it with iTune because I did not have the 
correct plug to connect the phone to the computer.

Secondly, I could not start Voiceover because in the store, the girl asked me 
to start accessibility, I thought she was asking about Voiceover.

So, Voiceover was not there. A sighted friend started voiceover.

Now I do not have those option of setting up the phone.

How can I transfer the data now?

I have paid iCloud, can it help?

You’re going to have to delete and restore to factory. Once voiceover is 
activated by pressing the Side button 3 times, and when you have the previous 
IPHone nearby, it’ll ask if you want to transfer from the old to the 12. Good

Workaround for trimming videos in the Photos app

The advisor I spoke with actually tried doing what I was talking about with 
voiceover on  his phone, and could see what was happening with no changes being 
made in the video and the done button being dimmed even though the start and 
end buttons indicated that there should be changes. Until they maybe get it 
hopefully back to the way it used to be, the workaround is to double tap and 
hold on what’s called the media scrubber, slide very slightly to the right, and 
make your changes, we’re upon the done button will then be operable.

With Supersense installed on a device sharing the same Apple ID, open
the app, double tap the menu button, click subscriptions, and click
restore purchases at the bottom of the screen. This should activate
family sharing if it doesn't enable automatically.

1. Settings.
2. Accessibility.
3. keep going down until you get to Face ID.
4. The first prompt there should be Attention, and you want Full Attention off; 
it is a toggle. VOILA, that should be it.

Right, Fazil, hold your phone out about 12-15 inches from your face. Press the 
Power Button on the right side of your phone. The phone should open, then just 
flick up to Home Page.

Glad you resolved your Today view editing issue. Another option to access edit 
mode after accessing today view following a three finger swipe right from your 
home screen page one is to immediately do a single finger swipe gown and 
VoiceOver should announce edit mode and you can immediately double tap to enter 
edit mode for the today view screen. The customize button should be at the 
bottom of however many screens you have in the today view edit mode.

The dictate button has been relocated. I don't know if this was done by the 
later model iPhones, iOS 15.X, or some combination thereof. Anyway, the dictate 
button is now located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen when the on 
screen keyboard is active.

, I have seen the dictate button in many places. Sometimes it’s next to the 
space bar on the left and most of the time now it’s on the right hand side on 
the bottom. Hope that helps.

I am not finding Dictate-Button on the Keyboard of iPhone12, where should I
look it for? It is located to the left of spacebar in all the other iPhone I
have used so far.

Paula. If you do 3 fingers swipe up on today screen, you should hear page 1 of  
5 etc. when you reach the last page such as Page 5 of 5, you should be able to 
find the edit button very easily on the bottom right corner.

I think you are not seeing the edit button because you have a lot on todays 
screen. I have the same issue both on my iPad and my iPhone.
Here how I was able to reach the edit button. On today’s screen I swiped up 
with three fingers until the edit button appeared on the lower right corner of 
my screen. Swiping right with one finger did not do it for me. It simply put me 
at the end of page one of today’s screen. I found the edit button at the end of 
page two of Today’s screen which happened to be page two.

Hi  all.  I called apple accessibility.  I had to swipe up to page 2 on the
today view to get to the edit button.  I've added the widgets I wanted and
won this round with the mini.  SMILE!  Thanks for all your suggestions.

Re: Removing Audible books from iPhone

Good morning. 
In the library if you flick down or up you will go through a list of options 
for your audiobook. One of them is archive which places your audiobook in a 
special list or collection that hides your book until you select the archive 
collection in your list of collections. There is also an option to remove the 
audiobook from your device. That's the delete button.  If you double tap that 
the downloaded title will be deleted from your device. You will only see this 
option if you have actually downloaded the title. If you have not, this option 
does not appear. 
If you double tap menu, and swipe through the options there you will also find 
the remove title from this device option. Again, you won't see this option if 
you have not previously downloaded the audiobook to your device.

That makes sense, but no matter what I do I don’t find the edit button. If I 
flick right this morning I end up at Mail, which is an app I’ve used today. The 
phone simply goes “bonk.” I’ve tried both flicking right and a four-finger 
single tap near the bottom of the screen. Nie gesture gets to any kind of an 
edit field. I have tried re-booting my phone but nothing changes.

Maybe I should call Apple Accessibility. Thanks anyway. I do understand how it 
should work, but it doesn’t.

Your problem is that  you are going  into Edit mode in the search field and at 
that point a 4-finger single tap on the bottonm half of the screen will take 
you to the last element on the screen which would be the dictate button on the 
keyboard.

 

Don't double tap on that search field, just go to the Today View and do a 
4-finger tap near the bottom of the screen or just continue to flick right 
until you get to the very bottom and you find the Edit d button I mentioned. 
Now double tap, then go again to the very end by flicking right a lot or again 
use the 4-finger tap and you find the customize button.

Once you activate customize you get to choose from all the options and you can 
add items to the Today View, remove others which are already there if you don't 
want them and reorder what is showing the way you want.

Hi Richard and all.  Still having issues with the today screen.  From the home 
screen I flick down with one finger to get to the showing today view.  It puts 
me on a search text field.  There is an edit field there.   If I double tap  
edit it brings up a keyboard. It also shows a few other things.  I stayed in 
that edit field and did a 4-finger single tap which took me to the dictate 
field. That’s obviously not what I wanted, so I tried again doing as you 
suggested.  When I do a 4-finger single tap at the bottom of the screen I hear 
“screen time, pyramid 13 4 minutes.”  I tried flicking right with no results.  
Just for fun I tried flicking left. I hear all the apps I’ve used today with 
the number of minutes I used each one.  I do eventually see my photos app, 
hearing aid batteries charge, and iphone 13 mini and it’s battery charge. I 
really want to move my apple news and my weather widget to the today view.  I 
am running IOS 15.2 on my 13 mini. This is getting personal and I refuse to be 
defeated by this cute little phone.  Sorry for the continued questions.  It’s 
probably something very basic I’m missing. If you think this is not appropriate

You probably could get a better explanation of the Today screen on Apple's 
site; but I think of it as a place to store widgets you don't want taking up 
home screen space.

Once you are on the Today screen, a 4 finger tap at the bottom should put you 
on an edit button.

If it doesn't, try flicking right until you land on an actual edit button. 
Double tap.

Then, do the 4 finger tap at the bottom again, and you should find a Customize 
button, double tap.

Now you should be on a screen where you will flick to the right through any 
existing widgets, then get into a list of Widgets you can add.

I am sorry, I downloaded Microsoft Authenticator and my Outlook account was 
blocked and it took me 24 hours to get it resolved.

A sighted friend came over and he fixed my Voiceover problem.

We had to agree with a two-line text message by saying ok. The dialog box does 
not stay long enough for me to read the text and hit ok button.

So, VoiceOver problem is taken care off and now the new challenge is setting up 
face ID.

I have created it by completing the process 100 percent but it is not working.

I, either have done something wrong or I did not complete something yet. Is 
setting up face ID multiple-step process?

Any help is much appreciated.

Renzia asked my apple ID and Password to complete the process.

She is Indian and we communicated in Hindi. She activated the E-SIM and asked 
me whether she should activate accessibility, I said yes thinking that she 
meant turning on Voiceover.

So now the phone is on and rings when there is a call.

I asked a sighted-friend to stop by my place after work and have a look at the 
phone.

So is the phone already set up, e.g. did they go through the setup in the 
store, put in your Apple Id and all that? If so and if the phone has a cellular 
connection then asking SIRI to turn on Voiceover may indeed work; she may have 
enabled the side button to bring up the accessibility menu instead of Voiceover 
directly. Remember it for when you get another new phone in however many years 
and make sure you always try this in the store to make sure it works.

What you can do, go into settings, go into accessibility, then go way over to 
the right keep going until you get to shortcut for it says shortcut before that 
but it says and you double tap on that and you get all the suggestions you want 
for short cut VoiceOver is one of them so double tap on that and that will be 
selected so then you will be able to use your side button to triple click the 
button three times to turn on and off voiceover.

I've never had any issue deleting audible books from my iPhone.
However, I haven't done it in sometime.  I don't currently have any
audible books downloaded on my iPhone.

Sieghard, We have family sharing set up and it is working. I'm sure of that 
since we just purchased an app about a week ago, and this app under family 
sharing on 3 devices with the same apple id and Arlene's 2 devices of which 
this new app works on all 5 devices. Though with voice sense no go, it won't 
work with a different apple idea, in this case meaning Arlene's 2 devices of 
which are under our family sharing. When we purchased super sense about a year 
ago or a little longer, Shane said at tat time they didn't do family sharing. 
As you can imagine before all this discussion about super sense, we 
coincidentally deleted the expired demo from Arlene's devices, because we were 
wondering if they had gotten family sharing going. So about a week ago Arlene 
downloaded and installed super sense on her phone, and it was a trial, so we 
didn't bother to download it to the iPad, so therefore we figured that super 
sense had not gotten family sharing included in their app. However, if they do 
have family sharing I wonder what the problem could be.

We have enabled family sharing of which the family sharing works with other 
apps, but doesn't work with super sense. When we talked to super sense over 
a year ago Shane said they weren't doing family sharing, but that they would 
consider doing family sharing. Though they are not doing it yet. It's up to 
the app developer.

My plan is to use this thread as a direct source of information as we create 
our upcoming product roadmap. It has been a busy year, and we had to make 
some decisions that put some of the features requested for Supersense on 
hold for a time. I cannot be happier to say that we do have extensive plans 
to work on many of the features mentioned here as soon as we are able, and 
all feedback is welcome as we prepare to enter that phase. I do not wish to 
give you a date to expect features because as you and I both learned over 
the past year, a lot can happen to waylay a project, especially when it 
requires extensive research and development.

bring you an update on what is coming down the pipeline soon.

Did this sale just start today? I have been using the Reader and Scanner apps 
for quite a while and yesterday I decided to go for writer. Of course, it was

I have no problem letting amazon have access to my phones contacts.  I
can just tell my echo to call anyone from my phone's contacts, and the
call happens easy as you'd want.  Very cool in my opinion.  I'm more
for headphones then bluetooth earbuds, but there are some very
interesting choices out there when it comes to earbuds and what kind
to get.

This is true.  There is a setting to automatically remove downloaded
titles once finished.  I haven't yet tried it out to see how it works.
