Renameing An App

2023-05-13 Thread Arnold Schmidt
It used to be that I could double tap and hold on the name of an app, a text
field would appear and I could edit its name. Now, double tap and hold causes
the context menu to appears. Is there no longer a way to edit an app's name?
If so, how do I do it? Thanks in advance for any information.

RE: Moving apps out of folders on the home screem.

2023-05-13 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Just move the app out of the folder to your home screen, remove all of the
other apps in your folder, so it disappears, and then move your app into the
location you want. I’d move the app right before the folder and then delete
everything in the folder, that should give you what you want.

Well, I deleted the overdrive app and the folder did not disappear so they must

Hi everyone! I had two apps in a folder on the home screen, the libby app and
the overdrive app. I kept the overdrive app until it was discontinued at the
beginning of may. I then deleted the overdrive app. I hoped that deleting
one of the apps in the folder would take the folder away, but that turned out
not to be the case. I started to remove the folder but voiceover said that the
libby app would be moved to the app library, and I want it to stay where it is
just without being in a folder. So how do I remove the folder without removing
the app from its position on the home screen?

getting guidance while in an Uber

2023-05-13 Thread R Van Lant
Hi,
Usually when I'm in an Uber or Lyft, the driver has audio guidance on and I can
hear where we are, allowing me to feel like I know we're going the way we
should be. The other night, I had a situation where the driver did not have
the audio on and we went a very different way than I'm used to. My sighted
daughter was with me and she told me the road. I then opened Apple Maps and I
could see that we were on that major road I knew. My daughter could also see
the driver's GPS and where he was being directed to turn. So, my question is,
if I already have Uber or Lyft open, what other app makes sense to run to keep
tabs on where we are? Is just having Apple Maps open what you do or do you
recommend something else? I might have used soundscape in the past. I have
BlindSquare, but I need to get in better practice of adjusting settings. In
this case, I just wanted to know which road we were on and cross streets so
that I knew if my safety was at risk.

Thoughts appreciated.

Robin

Moving apps out of folders on the home screem.

2023-05-13 Thread Barbara Stahl
Hi everyone! I had two apps in a folder on the home screen, the libby app and
the overdrive app. I kept the overdrive app until it was discontinued at the
beginning of may. I then deleted the overdrive app. I hoped that deleting
one of the apps in the folder would take the folder away, but that turned out
not to be the case. I started to remove the folder but voiceover said that the
libby app would be moved to the app library, and I want it to stay where it is
just without being in a folder. So how do I remove the folder without removing
the app from its position on the home screen?

Re: Delete dimmed in Trash.

2023-05-13 Thread Jim Jones
After you hit edit, you have to hit the select all button at the top left, then
you can delete everything. Hope this helps.
