RE: Question About Two Sim Cards In One Phone

2023-10-22 Thread M. Taylor
Hali,

The second SIM card would have to be an eSIM card. This is a software version
of a physical SIM card. You can search the web to learn more about eSIM cards.

Hi everyone.

I still use an SE2020 and remember that it can supposedly take two sim cards.
However, I've never managed to figure out where the second Sim would go.
Does anyone know?

Thoughts on the Ring Doorbell and App

2023-10-22 Thread paekstrand
Hi All,

We are considering buying a Ring doorbell, and looking at the available
models on Amazon is somewhat overwhelming at first glance.

Can anyone comment on the initial installation of the doorbell,
accessibility of the app, usefulness with Alexa, etc.?

If you have recommendations for a specific model, that would be great. We
have only used the old fashioned type of doorbells, so are not yet familiar
with these guys.

Are there any major accessibility issues with the app?

Thanks much,

Pam

I think this is a bug that was addressed in 17.01 or possibly 17.02.
You may have to make sure both phones are up to at least release before this

Hi Jim, I had somebody that recently occurred the same problem with an iPad.
And it stayed stuck in update mode. And she ended up googling around, and found
out that it was a known issue with Apple. But I don't know if she ended up
getting it set up or not. I just found out from sources that she did. She ended
up calling Apple and they helped her. I recommend you do the same if you

Re: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?

Hello,
When I open settings and sounds and haptics, choosing ringtone, gives me two
choices. Primary or secondary. When choosing one of those two options, I can
set a ringtone for that corresponding phone number. I am actually running iOS
17.1. I honestly don’t know how long this functionality has been available.

RE: Onscreen Keyboard Does Not Show Up On my iPhones since Recent Update

2023-10-22 Thread Richard Turner
Jennifer,
Do you use any bluetooth keyboards, qwerty or braille?

If so, connect it and make sure the QuickNav is off before disconnecting the
keyboard or braille display.

Disconnecting while QuickNav is on has left me in the same boat at times.
But since I made sure to turn QuickNav off before disconnecting, no problems
have raised their ugly head.

With a QWERTY keyboard the QuickNav toggle is pressing the left and right arrow
keys at the same time.
With a braille display, the toggle command is space+q.

Under VoiceOver settings, Verbosity, I have the QuickNav status set to speak so
I know exactly what it is doing.

Hi. You need to actually get into the control center by swiping up from the top
of the screen. There’s another way to get into it but I don’t remember what it
is. Don’t get into the settings control center under settings you need to
actually get into the control center and flick right until you see the lock
rotation, hope that helps John John Riehl

I am running iOS 17.03 on an iPhone XR. For some text messages, I hear my text
tone and the message. For other messages, I don’t even hear the tone and the
only way I know about them is if I go into the messages app. There does not
seem to be any pattern of which messages I get notified about and which ones I
don’t. I do not have any focus on and Do Not Disturb is not on either. Why
would this be happening?

Hi,

Sadly I haven't a solution but I can confirm that I've experienced this
also and you're right it's positively maddening and there seems to be no
rhyme, reason or pattern of causality to it.

I know that doesn't help and I'm sorry but you're not the only one.

Take good care,

Re: Lock rotation in 15 Pro

2023-10-22 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,

It verbalizes a smidge differently in 17. It no longer says lock
orientation which is what it is it just says lock or unlock so you can
go right by it and easily miss it. Look again in control center just
knowing it is the thing which you seek.  And rest assured in the latest
public beta they've fixed how it verbalizes so soon when the new
iteration of the OS comes out it'll once again look as it did.

but there we are. I hope that helps.

Take good care,

Robin

Re: Lock rotation in 15 Pro

2023-10-22 Thread 'JOHN RIEHL' via VIPhone
Hi. You need to actually get into the control center by swiping up from the top
of the screen. There’s another way to get into it but I don’t remember what it
is. Don’t get into the settings control center under settings you need to
actually get into the control center and flick right until you see the lock
rotation, hope that helps John

I turned off attention for Face ID on my 15 Pro. What other attention aware
features do I need to turn off and where do I find them?
