My Merrill Lynch app and accessibility

2023-12-19 Thread Amy ruell
Hello all,
I am trying to use the my Merrill Lynch app on my iPhone 15 Pro running the
newest software version. When I click into a message, I hear “to, “from, “etc.,
but I can’t read any of the text. Does anyone else use this app and Have you
had any success in making it more accessible with voiceover? Thanks.
Amy.

Re: Audio description on Hulu through Apple TV app on the iPad

2023-12-19 Thread Mary Otten
Well, for whatever reason, the movie I was interested in or should I say
documentary, is not audio described on Hulu. It is on Amazon supposedly if you
pay for it. But on Hulu, no audio description. Why the heck not?

They for now are separate subscriptions. There is a beta but no app where they

Re: New hearing aids and blue tooth

2023-12-19 Thread Anna Dresner
Hello Maria,

With my Starkey hearing aids, when I open the settings, there's a control
called Audio Routing. It opens a screen with options for controlling what audio
goes where. I would suggest seeing if you have these settings and working with
them if you do. I hope you can find settings you like.

All the best,
Anna

Re: Loss of Siri voices when iPhone is on charge.

2023-12-19 Thread David Grossoehme
That sounds like the update is making a change in the settings
somewhere.  It's possible, Apple thinks a particular sound is the
default now, if so, the phone maybe set to that after an update. Just a
guess, but I've seen this happen in updates to other devices.

For some time now I have been using Siri voice3 British dialect
with my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For some reason it keeps losing the voice and reverting to
Daniel.  This has been happening when the device is on its
wireless charger over night.

If I want to restore the voice it is necessary to redownload it in
the morning.

Sadly this issue persists in the latest beta.

It used to occurs on my Apple Watch too but this is no longer the
case.

I wonder how many people will remember the song, Does Your Chewing

Well perhaps we could now sing:  Does your iPhone lose its voices
on the charger overnight?

Any thoughts welcome.

Re: Audio description on Hulu through Apple TV app on the iPad

2023-12-19 Thread David Grossoehme
This is being discussed on another list of blind people.  You can
subscribe to the list by sending a message to
adp-list+subscr...@acblists.org, which is a low traffic list. This list
consist of many blind users and audio description who watch tv by phone,
tv or computer.  There are many of us that can help.  However, Disney
Plus is combining Hulu Streaming with Disney Plus Streaming.  It maybe
March before people who have subscriptions with them, to know what is
going to happen.  This list has a web link you can go to to see all
described audio shows on tv, and which network they are on with Audio
Description.  Good luck.

Re: Loss of Siri voices when iPhone is on charge.

2023-12-19 Thread Donna Casteen
My son's Se 2020 loses its Siri voice when the battery level drops below a
certain precentage level & is only usable again once the phone has charged to a
certain precentage level. We are trying to now figure out the exact precentage
levels of when Siri stops working & how much of a charge is needed for Siri to
start working again. Once we have this info we will contact Apple.

Hi,
I typically charge my iPhones, battery packs, and such with a single cable
plugged into a block plugged into the extension cord or directly into the
outlet. What I'd ideally like is a sort of USB extension cord where I can
plug one end into a hard to reach outlet, then have a hub of USB ports where I
can plug in several devices, rather than managing a number of those bulky
blocks and an extension cord. Does this kind of thing exist and what would it
be called for an Amazon or Walmart search? Any considerations to keep in mind
as I'm selecting one? I feared that if I searched for "USB hub", I'd end up
with the kind that is used to plug a bunch of peripherals into a computer and I
don't think that is the right thing. I need the hub to plug into AC power to
charge my devices.

2023-12-19 Thread paekstrand
We bought something similar to what I think you are looking for when we went on
a cruise. One end was USB and plugged into a block which plugged into the
wall. The other end has 4 cables of different types such as USB, USBC, etc.
for plugging into different devices. It did work very well for charging
multiple devices. Unfortunately I can’t find the exact link to it, but there
are probably several like this.

You might search for something like multi USB charging cable. I can’t remember
for sure if we got it from Amazon or the Harbolt Company
(sa...@harboltcompany.com ).

I have a couple of Anker chargers that have 6 USB connectors and deliver a
total of 60 watts. They also have models that have some USB-c ports as well.

Each port shuts down when the current drops below about 50 ma to keep from over
charging . In several years a port or two has stopped working. Just unplug
all cables, wait a few seconds, and it is ready to work again as new.

2023-12-19 Thread Øyvind Lode
Exactly.
A few days here now without any problems but suddenly it happened again.
In fact as I write this message I put my iPhone on the charger and
when I just checked all SIRI voices gone again.
I had Norwegian SIRI 1 as my default voice and UK SIRI 3.
Both auto-deleted and replaced by Nora (default compact Norwegian
voice) and UK English Daniel compact.
Darn annoying indeed.
I'm about to murder my iPhone hahaha.

You may be right Davey there will always be a bug of some kind. The thing that
is important is when you find it then you would want to call Apple
Accessibility or get a hold of Apple in someway and talk to them about it and
work with them on it what you were doing The important thing is that the
software has had enough of the difficulties in bags worked out that I am all of
us would be able to use it. You are doing a good thing. Just remember when you
find something that isn’t working for you get a hold of Apple and work with him
on it like you were doing right now.
