Subject: Text Message Notification Volume

Hi all,

Before iOS 17, I was using a text notification tone that I could hear
throughout my home. That text tone is no longer available in the new list of
text tones. The bigger problem, however, is that none of the new tones are
anywhere near as loud as the older tones. Is there a way of increasing the
volume of a text tone without affecting all the other volume levels on my
phone? As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Ed

RE: Seeing own messages from Google

2023-12-26 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I see that Max's email address is gmail.com. If someone posts to a Google
Groups mailing list from a Gmail address then they won't get a copy of their
message. It's just the way Google Groups works. This is independent of the mail
client being used. I assume it's because Google Groups assumes you know you
sent your message, and it's just trying to keep messages out of your inbox.

RE: With VoiceOver enabled, Can anyone locate the Speech Screen controller in iOS 17.2?

2023-12-26 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Robert,

Thank you so very much.

I had neglected to adjust the opaqueness of the speaking bar. The setting is
labeled Idle Opacity and I neglected to read the description that follows the
adjustment control.

To be honest, but for your post, I don't think I would have ever associated the
opacity setting of the control with my inability to locate the control on the
screen. I set my idle opacity to 100% and now the control is easily located.

Thank you, again.

Did you remember to set the size of your speaking bar? I set mine to 52% I
found it at the top next to the volume up button on the left side of the phone.

Hello All,

I feel as though I am missing something. Try as I may, I cannot locate the
Speech controller in iOS 17.2 when VoiceOver is enabled. Please do the
following on your iOS 17.2 device:

1.
>From the Accessibility Settings area, select, Spoken Content.

2.
Enable Speak Selection.

3.
Enable Speak Screen.

4.
Select Speech Controller and enable, Show Controller.

Now, open any app with text or, for that matter, open any dialog box in a list
view, such as the settings area and see if you can get the feature to work.

There used to be a way to see the speech controls at the top of the screen but,
try as I may, I cannot find them.

By the way, I have my Spoken Content voice set to Siri.

All replies most appreciated.

Mark

Re: Danny boy stand from Blind Mice Mega Mall.

2023-12-26 Thread Richard Turner
I do not know about the 15's but remember that the phone will sit flat with the camera either pointing down to the table or up toward the ceiling, so trying to do FaceTime would be pretty much impossible. You would want a stand that held the phone at more of an upright angle. The stand is a wooden frame with an adjustable piece for the different width phones. I don't know about the extra large phones. Richard, USA“Grandma always told us, “Be careful when you pray for patience. how is the Apple software a problem.
I am reading the messages on a Mac and have no problems seeing messages I send

I am not doubting you just am interested why this is so.
Thanks for all you do.

Take care,

Ed

The old text notification tones are at the end of the list under the “Classic”
heading. There has been a lot of discussion of this topic on this list since
the introduction of iOS 17.

Re: With VoiceOver enabled, Can anyone locate the Speech Screen controller in iOS 17.2?

2023-12-26 Thread Robert Doc Wright
Did you remember to set the size of your speaking bar? I set mine to 52% I
found it at the top next to the volume up button on the left side of the
phone.

Subject: With VoiceOver enabled, Can anyone locate the Speech Screen
controller in iOS 17.2?

Now, open any app with text or, for that matter, open any dialog box in a
list view, such as the settings area and see if you can get the feature to
work.

There used to be a way to see the speech controls at the top of the screen
but, try as I may, I cannot find them.

By the way, I have my Spoken Content voice set to Siri.

All replies most appreciated.

Mark
