Braille commands for iOS and iPadOS

2024-02-09 Thread Richard Turner
I've updated both my Word document and Excel documents for the common
Braille commands on my web site. Thanks to Scott Davert I adjusted some and
added a few.

Note, you may get a warning that the document is not safe, but it is.
Windows 11 at least, using Edge, has started warning me when I tested the
download links and I had to go to my downloads folder with Control+j while
in Edge and bring up the context menu and select keep, and then keep anyway.

Firefox downloaded and opened the word document and also downloaded the
Excel document. Those are my only two browsers.

RE: Mark on the Aftershock (Shock) Open Run Pro and Open Fit Bluetooth Headphones for iPhone

2024-02-09 Thread Richard Turner
Someone else said they are two separate ear pieces with a hook over your ear to
stay on.
This is from the web site:
7 hours of battery life with a single charge
Up to 28 hours total listening time with the charging case
A quick 5-minute charge provides 1 hour of listening time
IP54 Water Resistance
OpenFit features IP54 water resistance and is designed with a double-layer
waterproof steel mesh and gauze for additional protection and enhanced sound
performance.

You can read the entire info at:
https://shokz.com/products/openfit

I would compare prices with Amazon.

Does the Open fit come as individual pod or are these tied to each other in
order to prevent from falling? How do we recharge them and whats the battery
backup for one charge in open fit? I have open com with boom mic and its just
fine for calls.

2024-02-09 Thread Richard Turner
Hi Mike, Well, the problem seems to have solved itself. I suspect it may have had something to do with the iOS beta. I have not had nearly as much trouble with them connecting to both my iPhone 13 Pro and my new, refurbished,  iPad Mini 6. The iPad is on the release of 17.3 while the iPhone is on 17.4 beta. The OpenRun headset has no issues pairing. At this point, the OpenComm has paired consistently as well. Maybe 1 out of 10 times I have to turn them off and back on to get them paired, but nothing like it was for a while. All that to say, it must have been Gremlins. 😉Later, Richard, USA“Grandma always told us, “Be careful when you pray for patience. There is a
standard Open Run by Shokz that was only $90.  My wife and I both got a

She got the
smaller size, which works for her but she could use one that was a little

I am not Mark, but as far as I know the OpenRun has the round
neckband similar to the OpenCom and some other older models whereas the OpenFit
is two individual earbuds which sort of hang on your ears.

I am not Mark, but as far as I know the OpenRun has the round neckband
similar to the OpenCom and some other older models whereas the OpenFit is
two individual earbuds which sort of hang on your ears.

Hi Mark,

What are the differences between the Open Run Pro and the Open fit models in
regards as to how you wear them? I currently use the Aftershokz Trekz-Air
headset and like the way it fits, sounds and works. Thanks much.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

Subject: Mark on the Aftershock (Shock) Open Run Pro and Open Fit Bluetooth
Headphones for iPhone

Hello Everyone,

A couple of days ago, I purchased a pair of the Open Run Pro bone conducting
Bluetooth headsets for use with my iPhone.

I decided to buy a pair because I have a couple of friends who are using the
Open Run models and when talking to them, I cannot tell that they are using
a Bluetooth headset, the microphone quality is that good.

I think they are absolutely amazing.

What I did not discover until after purchasing is that, using the Shock app
for iOS, one can change the voice profile. Kind of an E.Q. feature that I
absolutely love.

The cost of this model is approximately 180 USD.

In fact, I was so impressed with the Open Run Pro model that, just 2 days
later, I purchased the Open Fit model.

With the Open Fit, you do not only have 4 preset sound profiles, from which
to choose, but you also have a full equalizer feature.

The approximate cost of the Open Fit model is 130 USD.

There are several differences between the Open Run Pro and the Open Fit
model.
1.
The Open Run Pro is bone conduction.

2.
The Open Fit, while not sitting in the ear, uses sound waves to conduct the
sound.

3.
Like Air Pods, the Open Fit can be worn on one ear at a time or on both
ears.

4.
Unlike Air Pods, both the Open Run Pro and the Open Fit can switch between
Apple Watch and iPhone seamlessly as both models can connect to, two,
devices, simultaneously.

You can purchase these models from Amazon or from Shock.com or, like me,
just go into your local Best Buy and grab a pair.
