realize that the native Apple weather app is not the most accurate.
So, based on the recommendation of several contractors who will be
helping me get my property back in order, I started using the NOA

NOA stands for: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

You can get your local forecast, online, by entering your Zip Code at
http://www.weather.gov.

In the US, virtually every app and news outlet uses NOA for their
weather forecasts.

Two things to note, here:
1.
If one is willing to drill down a bit, one can find the same NOA info
from within the native Apple weather app but, unless one understands
how the data is formatted, I do not think the info is easily
understandable.
2.
While the Weather Channel app for iOS reflects the most accurate NOA
data, astonishing as it is for me to believe, future casts are, in
effect, inaccessible via VoiceOver. I mean, you can hear the data but
unless you can see the display, you would be hard-pressed to have VO
locate it. I would think that, after all these years, the Weather
Channel app would be the best app for iOS; and yet, it is not. If any
of you have any recommendations for free weather apps I could try, let me
know.

Okay, moving on:

A while back, people were asking about online dating apps. Using a
couple of these apps, I have gone on more than a few dates, with
different women, recently; while not easy, these dating sites can work in
meeting someone.
It just takes patience and perseverance; so to those of you seeking
someone special, hang in there and do not give up.

Okay, onto Amazon / Audible news:
So, 3 years ago, I purchased a Whisper Sync title in both Kindle and
Audible format, at the same time, from Amazon.

Long story short, I could not download the Kindle audible companion of
the book last week. Now the Audible audio format of the title would
play just fine.

It took almost an hour to reach someone at Kindle support who said she
would refund my money for the Audible version of the title if I could
find the Audible purchase order number. She could see the Kindle
order purchase number but she could not see the order number
confirming that I had purchased the Audible version.

Even with her help and patience, we could not locate the order number
confirming my Audible purchase in my Amazon Library. Just before
giving up, I realized that I keep every confirmation email I receive
from Amazon in an email folder.

It took about 15 more minutes but I was able to locate the number and
when I gave it to her, she was able to see that I had, in fact,
purchased the Audible version.

So, she refunded my money. At the time I purchased the title, the
cost was $7.99. However, the cost of that same title, today is
$25.99. So, she refunded the $25.99 as that is the replacement cost
of the title. I waited a few days, just to make certain that I
received the refund then I purchased the title, again.

My point? Always keep every email confirmation you receive from
Amazon because you never know when you may need it.

Okay, I think that about covers it, for now.

I hope this finds you well and I look forward to your replies.

Mark

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.

I am delighted to report that last week's rain storms did not cause any
further damage to my property so that is a good thing.

Given the weather patterns here in the golden state, I have come to realize
that the native Apple weather app is not the most accurate. So, based on
the recommendation of several contractors who will be helping me get my
property back in order, I started using the NOA website for my local
precipitation predictions.

NOA stands for: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

You can get your local forecast, online, by entering your Zip Code at
http://www.weather.gov.

In the US, virtually every app and news outlet uses NOA for their weather
forecasts.

Two things to note, here:
1.
If one is willing to drill down a bit, one can find the same NOA info from
within the native Apple weather app but, unless one understands how the data
is formatted, I do not think the info is easily understandable.
2.
While the Weather Channel app for iOS reflects the most accurate NOA data,
astonishing as it is for me to believe, future casts are, in effect,
inaccessible via VoiceOver. I mean, you can hear the data but unless you
can see the display, you would be hard-pressed to have VO locate it. I
would think that, after all these years, the Weather Channel app would be
the best app for iOS; and yet, it is not. If any of you have any
recommendations for free weather apps I could try, let me know.

Okay, moving on:

A while back, people were asking about online dating apps. Using a couple
of these apps, I have gone on more than a few dates, with different women,
recently; while not easy, these dating sites can work in meeting someone.
It just takes patience and perseverance; so to those of you seeking someone
special, hang in there and do not give up.

Okay, onto Amazon / Audible news:
So, 3 years ago, I purchased a Whisper Sync title in both Kindle and Audible
format, at the same time, from Amazon.

Long story short, I could not download the Kindle audible companion of the
book last week. Now the Audible audio format of the title would play just
fine.

It took almost an hour to reach someone at Kindle support who said she would
refund my money for the Audible version of the title if I could find the
Audible purchase order number. She could see the Kindle order purchase
number but she could not see the order number confirming that I had
purchased the Audible version.

Even with her help and patience, we could not locate the order number
confirming my Audible purchase in my Amazon Library. Just before giving up,
I realized that I keep every confirmation email I receive from Amazon in an
email folder.

It took about 15 more minutes but I was able to locate the number and when I
gave it to her, she was able to see that I had, in fact, purchased the
Audible version.

So, she refunded my money. At the time I purchased the title, the cost was
$7.99. However, the cost of that same title, today is $25.99. So, she
refunded the $25.99 as that is the replacement cost of the title. I waited
a few days, just to make certain that I received the refund then I purchased
the title, again.

My point? Always keep every email confirmation you receive from Amazon
because you never know when you may need it.

Okay, I think that about covers it, for now.

I hope this finds you well and I look forward to your replies.

Mark

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.

I am delighted to report that last week's rain storms did not cause any further
damage to my property so that is a good thing.

Given the weather patterns here in the golden state, I have come to realize
that the native Apple weather app is not the most accurate. So, based on the
recommendation of several contractors who will be helping me get my property
back in order, I started using the NOA website for my local precipitation
predictions.

NOA stands for: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

You can get your local forecast, online, by entering your Zip Code at
https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.weather.gov__;!!CV-huaVoHw!ZQ_jDMEMwxgkHcTC4BfSrgIteHygaP6e3brfi0pFaS1ibnGJ_I-nmv5g10vf2JHPQ5HT-OotlxaI31hSvF8QVygVoQkhxA$
 .

In the US, virtually every app and news outlet uses NOA for their weather
forecasts.

Two things to note, here:
1.
If one is willing to drill down a bit, one can find the same NOA info from
within the native Apple weather app but, unless one understands how the data is
formatted, I do not think the info is easily understandable.
2.
While the Weather Channel app for iOS reflects the most accurate NOA data,
astonishing as it is for me to believe, future casts are, in effect,
inaccessible via VoiceOver. I mean, you can hear the data but unless you can
see the display, you would be hard-pressed to have VO locate it. I would think
that, after all these years, the Weather Channel app would be the best app for
iOS; and yet, it is not. If any of you have any recommendations for free
weather apps I could try, let me know.

Okay, moving on:

A while back, people were asking about online dating apps. Using a couple of
these apps, I have gone on more than a few dates, with different women,
recently; while not easy, these dating sites can work in meeting someone.
It just takes patience and perseverance; so to those of you seeking someone
special, hang in there and do not give up.

Okay, onto Amazon / Audible news:
So, 3 years ago, I purchased a Whisper Sync title in both Kindle and Audible
format, at the same time, from Amazon.

Long story short, I could not download the Kindle audible companion of the book
last week. Now the Audible audio format of the title would play just fine.

It took almost an hour to reach someone at Kindle support who said she would
refund my money for the Audible version of the title if I could find the
Audible purchase order number. She could see the Kindle order purchase number
but she could not see the order number confirming that I had purchased the
Audible version.

Even with her help and patience, we could not locate the order number
confirming my Audible purchase in my Amazon Library. Just before giving up, I
realized that I keep every confirmation email I receive from Amazon in an email
folder.

It took about 15 more minutes but I was able to locate the number and when I
gave it to her, she was able to see that I had, in fact, purchased the Audible
version.

So, she refunded my money. At the time I purchased the title, the cost was
$7.99. However, the cost of that same title, today is $25.99. So, she
refunded the $25.99 as that is the replacement cost of the title. I waited a
few days, just to make certain that I received the refund then I purchased the
title, again.

My point? Always keep every email confirmation you receive from Amazon because
you never know when you may need it.

Okay, I think that about covers it, for now.

I hope this finds you well and I look forward to your replies.

Mark
