Hi,

A one-finger flick left or right moves to the next or previous puzzle or clue.
It does take a couple of seconds after you open it for the puzzles to be
available. It may take longer if you haven't played in a while.

Best,
Anna

RE: Seven Little words.

2024-04-17 Thread Paula Jordan
I no longer play 7 little words because it’s clunky and hard for me, but I play
a game called zannograms. Not sure about the spelling. The basic game is free
and includes 2 puzzle packs. Additional puzzle packs are around 99 cents from
the app store and you can also purchase hints. I believe the game is designed
by someone who is visually impaired, so it’s completely easily accessible.

I love it.

God bless!

Alex,

The game 7 Little Words is accessible. My thought is, the gestures to play the
game is different from the voiceover gestures. A 3 finger flick switches from
words & characters. A 2 finger swipe from left to right reads the clues by
letter or word. Swiping in the opposite direction the clues will be
spelled/spoken in reverse. A 1 finger swipe left to right moves down by line.
Swiping right to left moves up by line. A 1 finger swipe down jumps from the
clues section to the letter tiles section & a 1 finger swipe up moves from the
letter tiles to the clues section. I hope these instructions helps you to be
able to play. The game structure was changed 2+ years ago because coding the
game for Android is easier than APple, So the game developer just has to do a
minor tweak in order for the game to work on the Apple platform & voiceover
users making use of the Direct Touch feature.

The Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters Tournament, is renowned for
its stunning layout. The course features a hilly terrain with lush green
fairways and beautiful azalea-lined pathways.

The front nine holes wind through the Georgia pines, starting with the
relatively short par-4 first hole and leading to the iconic par-3 12th hole,
known as "Golden Bell," which requires a precise tee shot over Rae's Creek to a
narrow green.

The back nine is known for its challenging closing stretch, including the
famous par-5 13th hole, named "Azalea," which offers players a risk-reward
opportunity for eagle or birdie. The par-4 18th hole, "Holly," demands accuracy
off the tee to avoid the fairway bunkers and sets up a dramatic approach shot
to the elevated green.

Overall, Augusta National's layout is characterized by its strategic bunkering,
undulating greens, and picturesque water hazards, providing a challenging yet
picturesque test for the world's best golfers.

It is free, and relatively easy to use. You could ask about writing without
asking it to write anything for you. I suggest giving it a spin and see how it
goes. I also use another free app, Perplexity, but Perplexity has a much more
cluttered screen.

Hello everyone,

First of all, please know that I am not trying to start anything, with the

I am curious, does anyone here use Chat GPT? Or, Microsoft Co-Pilot?

Not sure I spelled that last one correctly.

If anyone here does use these Apps, or any others I might not be aware of, how
accessible are they?

Also, what might you use them for?

I am currently attending a local community college. My goal is to hopefully get
my Masters degree. I am a long way off from this though, and life could go in a
totally different direction. I am also an older student. I don't even know if I
will ever have a career.

Anyway, one thing I would like to use Chat GPT for, is to get help with my
writing. I never really learned how to write papers in high school. I feel so
behind in this area. I am told all the time that I need to kind of learn to BS
my way through stuff.

However, I am not at all good with that sort of thing.

Please understand, I do not want to cheat! Or, plagiarize anything. I really
just want to use AI to help me with this huge struggle. I want help with
structure, and all that. But, I want to make the paper my own. And, make
changes where necessary.

However, I also want to make use of these Apps, in other ways as well, if this
can be beneficial for me. I just don't know enough, to know what I might be
missing out on. I know we do have to be careful, when using any sort of AI.
And, we need to be smart about what we do. I just think though that all of this
stuff can really benefit us in a lot of ways.

Thank you to anyone who has read this. Any thoughts, or advice will be very
much appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is that something else is touching the screen,
like your face or another finger, so a single touch is being interpreted as a
split tap. If the focus is on the end call button then this will terminate the
call. I'm not sure if this is what's happening or not. It's just speculation on

Anyone have any idea when I'm on a call, that simply touching the screen
anywhere can cut off a call - no pressing, not near end call, just simply
contact with screen?

RE: Phone Going Quiet

2024-04-17 Thread portillo.jim
OK. I have heard of audio ducking but have no idea what it is or does. 😊

I wonder how it would have gotten turned on though. And, would it happen with
anything I watch or listen to?

Thanks for that idea. I’ll have to look into that some.

This sounds like Audio Ducking is kicking in when not wanted. You can add Audio
Ducking to your rotor (Settings, Accessibility, Rotor Items). And then turn
Audio Ducking off until you really want to have it on?

Good afternoon,

This has been happening for a little while now, but I’m really noticing it now
because it happens on a more frequent basis.

I have an iPhone 15 pro, and I use VoiceOver. I could be streaming a show, or
listening to a podcast, or listening to a radio station, and everything is fine
for a while. Then, I hear like a clicking noise, and the sound of what I’m
listening to or watching gets quieter. VoiceOver is still at the same volume
though.

I have a theory that this has something to do with VoiceOver, because when I
turn it completely off using the triple-tap command, turning VoiceOver off, the
sound comes back up to its original volume. I can turn VliceOver on again, and
things are good for a while until the next time this happens.

Much of the time I’m listening to or watching something, I’m not using my phone
for other things, so VoiceOver is left alone, and I’m honestly baffled as to
why my phone is doing this. I don’t know if it has to do with an update, but I
doubt it.

Any ideas?

Jim

RE: calls getting cut off.

I called my phone from a land line, and fooled around on the screen and did not
cut myself off, so I am hoping this is the solution, Arnold, thanks.

This subject was discussed here a couple months ago, and after a few tries, I
may have found the answer in the archives, although I wouldn't bet next week's
check on it. The problem has never occured on my cheap phone, only on the last
couple pro models. Go into voiceover settings, rotor, and find direct touch.
Then, go into the apps that this direct touch affects, and deselect phone. I
did this to see if it would stop the two-finger double tap from ending a call,
and it did not. I hope it won't stop it from answering a call. Let me know
if this works.

Hello Carolyn,

My best guess is that there is something touching the phone. You may want to
remove your phone's case and see what happens. Another issue is that there
could be a problem with the screen protector currently installed on the

First, however, if there is a case, remove it and then make some trial calls.

Good luck,

Anyone have any idea when I'm on a call, that simply touching the screen
anywhere can cut off a call - no pressing, not near end call, just simply
contact with screen?

2024-04-17 Thread Michael Irons
I am on Verizon. They do screen some calls for me like when the phone rings
Samsung times it says potential spam and sometimes it does not. I generally
don’t answer a phone number that I don’t recognize. I was just thinking if they
wanted to hear from me they would leave a message. But I believe I might be
able to get something for marking the unwanted calls through the Verizon app.

Maybe Verizon is better than some at stopping those calls, I don't get many of
them any more. Or, maybe it is that I simply don't answer the call if I don't
recognize the number or it says the contact name, unless I am expecting a call
whose number I may not recognize. I figured that the telemarketing systems
would catch onto the fact that I never answered their calls and would delete my
number after a while. If it is a legitimate call, let them leave a voice mail
and I will call back.

Re: Ecobee3 light and Siri not connecting

2024-04-17 Thread Larry Smith
Mary, I do not have the ecobee light. However, I do have the ecobee premium
plus. The only thing I can think of is you may not be connected to WiFi.
Unfortunately, This cannot be done using the app. You have to connect to WiFi
through the settings on the thermostat. I have found no way to do this without
sighted assistance.

I will be observant next time to figure out if more than one thing makes
contact. I do not think that is happening, but it is a suggestion worth looking

The only thing I can think of is that something else is touching the screen,
like your face or another finger, so a single touch is being interpreted as a
split tap. If the focus is on the end call button then this will terminate the
call. I'm not sure if this is what's happening or not. It's just speculation on
my part.

Anyone have any idea when I'm on a call, that simply touching the screen
anywhere can cut off a call - no pressing, not near end call, just simply
contact with screen?

This subject was discussed here a couple months ago, and after a few tries, I
may have found the answer in the archives, although I wouldn't bet next week's
check on it. The problem has never occured on my cheap phone, only on the last
couple pro models. Go into voiceover settings, rotor, and find direct touch.
Then, go into the apps that this direct touch affects, and deselect phone. I
did this to see if it would stop the two-finger double tap from ending a call,
and it did not. I hope it won't stop it from answering a call. Let me know
if this works.

Re: Seven Little words.

2024-04-17 Thread Judy Holloway
Hi. I play 7 Little Words every day on my iPhone 11 enjoy it very much. The
first time you open the app, turn the rotor to Described Images, and select On.
After that, each time you play the game, Described Images will be turned on
automatically while you play the game. Go to the rotor settings under
Accessibility and make sure Direct Touch is selected in your rotor settings. I
hope this makes sense.

Thanks.
