  Hello Jim,

Have you looked this app up on appleVis? It's fine to ask here, but
someone may have written it up in the app directory there.

Question about notifications?

2024-05-13 Thread Michael Irons
Hello everyone I’m running the iPhone SE second generation. I’m using the
latest version of iOS 16. Just wondering if there is a way to change the sounds
on notifications so that I get a different sound for the weather channel for
example, that I do for text messages. There used to be a way to change your
sounds for different notifications. They didn’t seem to be a way to do that
anymore. I have to hear the tri-town for everything and I would like to have it
be a little bit different so that I hear a different town for the weather
channel. For example, then I do for Messages or Calendar, or WhatsApp. Just
wondering if there is a way to change the notifications where I get a different
sound for different apps on the iPhone. Appreciate any help that you might be
able to give me.

Re: Problem unsubscribing from Voice OCR

2024-05-13 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi Bill, I find the easiest way to get into my account to check or take action on subscriptions is to do a single finger triple tap on the App Store icon on my home screen, swipe to Updates on the context menu which opens and double tap when it has focus, swipe to Subscriptions on the screen that opens, and double tap to review the apps I've subscribed to. You should be able to find Voice OCR there and take the desired action. Good luck. Alan Lemly Sent from my iPhoneOn May 13, 2024, at 9:34 AM, Bill Gallik wrote:I’m trying to figure out a way to unsubscribe from Voice OCR, I don’t need the $10 plus monthly expense. Hello,

I'm using my new SE22. The problem is that when I opened WhatsApp to listen

And I can't get out. I don't see any cancel or back button.

Any suggestion?

Re: Problem with messages in WhatsApp

2024-05-13 Thread Joseph hudson
Rena, go to the home screen of your iPhone. Find the WhatsApp app, click down
on the app and double tap, then it'll put you in editing mode. Double tap, and
hold, it shall come up with a thing that says remove app from home screen. Or
bring you into some options where you can remove it from the home screen. Find
the one that says delete app, and delete the app. Then go to the App Store, and
reinstall it. Then type in your phone number and confirm with the security code
that it sends you if it sends you one. Then you'll be good to go. If that
doesn't work, I have no clue.

Thanks Dennis for your help. Thank you others as well for responding. The
command VO shift space works most of the time. Sometimes, however, I receive an
error that says, “message failed to send” or something similar to that. May be
problem is with my keyboard because, as I said, the command does not fail all
the times.

Dear all. Let me start by Thanking you all for running or contributing to this
useful list. My question is what keyboard command to use to simulate double tap
and hold. For instance, to record a voice message on Whatsapp, you have to
double tap and hold. When you are done recording your message, you release to
send the message. I found no way to achieve this using bluetooth keyboard. I
will appreciate some solution.

How to Turn on Detailed Voice Guidance for Vision Impaired Users in Google Maps

by Joe Lonergan
Detailed Voice Guidance is not a new feature, but it is not well known and is
hidden deep in the settings of Google Maps. If you are a fan of Google Maps, we
think it is a good feature to turn on for a vision-impaired or blind user.
Detailed Voice Guidance expands the existing walking directions guidance with
several extra elements. The directions are more proactive so that if you take a
wrong turn, the vocal guide will tell you and find the best way to your
destination from your new point. Along the way, it will tell you not only where
to turn, but how far away it is and in what direction you are facing, and the
vocal guide will also alert you before reaching busy intersections.
So how do we turn on this detailed navigation feature?
1. Open Google Maps
2. Navigate to Account and Settings, If you are a VoiceOver user you will
find it by flicking left and it is the first option you will hear.
3. While in here go to Settings.
4. Now go to Navigation
5. Flick to the right all the way down until you get to detailed Voice
Guidance and turn it on
We love to hear software companies adding features like this into universal or
mainstream apps as it is easier to use one app to get most of your information
and gives the user more freedom and confidence.
If you are a user of Google Maps and you have turned on this feature we would
like to hear if you found the extra navigation voice cues help to get to your
final destination or if you are a user of any other navigation or mobility apps
like Soundscape or Apple Maps we would love to hear which you find best and why?
You can send a voice note to the Talking Technology WhatsApp number 086 199
0011 and we can play it on the show.

Hello there friends and list members,
I am needing to get a good metronome app that goes beyond the basics. I’m
needing one that is easy to set and that allows for particular sub beats to be
set as well.
The app my music teacher is using is called ProMetronome, and it does some
fantastic stuff. However, I don’t know if it is just operator error, but I
haven’t found it to be very accessible or useable. Some of the buttons don’t
seem to be labeled, and I can’t tell how to set a particular tempo or beats per
minute.
Before I write to the app developer, I wanted to know if anyone has used it or
if other people find it useable and maybe I am the one missing something. I
don’t want to write a developer and give him a whole deal about accessibility
to blind people when other blind people are using the app just fine. I hope you
don’t mind if I brought this up on the list.
If this is not a useable app, does anyone have a good app that can be used with
the phone? I’m using Tempo Perfect, but to set it, I have to literally slide my
finger up and down through the beats per minute, and if I’m going from 60 to
160, I would like a better way. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Problem with messages in WhatsApp

2024-05-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Two things to try:
1. When you get out of WhatsApp, don't just reopen it, but make sure you first
close the app out of the app switcher as well, then reopen it.
2. Make sure you don't have Screebn Recognition for WhatsApp enabled as this
may give you strange results. Typically screen recognition is in the rotor, so
turn the rotor until you get to it and make sure it says "off".

2024-05-13 Thread Richard Turner
All I can say is “Wow!” If Tuner Energy Chromatic Tuner, on the app store as ,
“TE Tuner” is really fully accessible, it sounds amazing! It is $4.99.

If anyone hasn’t read the description in the App Store, I recommend doing that.
