 Hello,

Has anyone had problems using the gmail app for the iPhone? It's mostly
accessible but there is a problem when you try to compose a message. You
can fill in the to field but the fields for subject and message body a bit
tricky. There is only one edit field which apparently is for the subject
and when you try to type your message it's right below your subject so your
subject and message are altogether. Is there a way to get to the message
 edit field? Thanks.

A bit tricky describes it and this may be email in general. I've
noticed even though voiceover reports me in the message body, my
message winds up tied into the subject field. To use a technical term,
I have to manoogle it a little bit.

If you have any questions that's a great list and the developer is

Re: mbraille is available

2013-06-29 Thread brian albriton
This app has admirable features and functions. My fingers do not fall naturally
into the dot positions in the same way as the braille touch app. The auto
layout may be making it unstable even when locked to a particular layout. The
other reason could be a slight difference in the space eachcell position takes
in the two different apps. So far, I'm not ready to purchase until I get the
hang of it. All that said, a lot of folks are going to appreciate this app.

I have been working with this app most of the day to learn how to do things,
and I must say that its features are amazing!!
It does a lot more than just post to Twitter, facebook, and send text
 messages!

The command structure built into this app is brilliant, and can enable even
more feature intergrations later in the future.
But even more amazing than to send tweets, facebook post, text messages, and
emails directly from the app, is its editing features!

The editing features basically turn it into a small braille note pad.
You can browse what you have typed by sentence, word,or character.
You can move the cursor to anywhere you want in the document and add words,
delete words, or change things however you want.
You can even move the cursor to a point in the document and paste something
that came from another app, like a link from Safari or an email.

Now you can also select by characters, words, or sentences. After you have
selected text, you can then copy or cut the text from your document and move
it to where ever you want.
And even with all of these features and abilities, this does not include the
fact that it is capable of contracted grade 2 braille!

 Now, lets consider the price?

Lets all remember that Braille Touch was $20, and even though it is a good
app, it comes no where near being filled with all of the features of
 MBraille!
So do I think all of those extra features of MBraille is worth ten more
 dollars? You bet!
I have been waiting for an app like this, and I am just so proud that we
 finally have it!

Re: Will The Keyboard Be There?

2013-04-13 Thread brian albriton
Hi, Arnold. I just experimented with this and found the keyboard available if
the phone is unlocked. I was in mail, called my iPhone, answered the call, and
found the keypad available. Inlocked screen however, I had to slide to unlock
the phone, even though I had answered it. At that point I had to open the phone
application.

appointment, will the keyboard be available on screen for me to do it, and I
just let it go to speaker phone to access the keyboard? If the keyboard
isn't going to be there, how will I get to the keyboard? Finally, does my
phone behave differently in this matter if the screen is locked or unlocked
when I receive this call? I know that the keyboard is there if I place the
 call myself.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: Braille Touch and texting

Hi, Sandy. after tapping the text message choice, I land in the messaging app

the contact I I want. I then tap send and the message is sent. That said,
the text message choice seems a bit finicky. try copying instead and then open
a message.

Re: The Rotor, a possible replacement gesture

2012-06-01 Thread Brian Albriton

On 5/31/12, Jon Pierson joncpier...@gmail.com wrote:
 Hi,
I have watched many people having inconsistent results using the rotor and
 I
myself have not had the silly thing act the same way from session to
session. Now maybe it's something with the callouses on my abused fingers
but for whatever reason, I have not found rotoring to be to my liking,
 until
 today!

I was wondering first of all how much spacing between the fingers was
possible and apparently the answer is, a lot.

What I have found most useful now, and this does work on any of the phone's
edges so that portrait or landscape modes shouldn't affect this methid, is
to use two fingers near the edges of the screen. Pretend the phone has a
 set
of railroad tracks on it and that each of your fingers represents a traing
 going in the opposite direction.
As long as both fingers move, the gesture seems to be picked up
 consistently.

I just tried this way of changing rotor settings with a person who swore
that rotoring was never going to be a useful gesture because of the
frustration it seems to bring to many novice IOS/VO users and the result
 was
that all of the rotor's settings changed correctly on the first and every
 try.

So maybe some folks want to give this method a try and hopefully the
 results
will be as rewarding as they have been here so far.
Now I may have to try that pinching gesture folks talk about next.

 Jon
