Hi Jim,

Do you happen to remember the exact model of the one you purchased? Thanks for
all your help. Take care.

Most accessible doorbell for finding out who’s at the door?

2024-03-09 Thread Brian Hansen
I’m looking for a doorbell that will work with my iPhone so I can find out
who’s at my door. I’ve heard suggestions about the ring doorbells, or is there
something even better? Thanks for all of your help and input.
Blessings,

Brian

Re: Downloading music from iTunes supposedly being discontinued in 2019

2018-04-12 Thread Brian Hansen
Even though I subscribe to Apple Music, there have been a few cases where I
still had to purchase the albums through iTunes, because the album/albums were
not available for streaming. I guess the artist/record labels can specify how
Apple can make it available to their customer base. If they do away with
purchases, then they will need to make all of their music catalog available.

Brian

iOS11 and Notifications

2017-09-19 Thread Brian Hansen
I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the announcement of
their incoming notifications. Since upgrading to iOS 11, any time a
notification comes in, VO just announces the time instead of reading the
notification. Other than my notification dilemma, I’m really impressed with the
responsiveness of VO on my 7 Plus. Also, this was the fastest I’ve ever been
able to download the upgrade using iTunes. It came in at right around 5
minutes. Now on to explore some more new features.

Blessings,

Brian

How would I go about clearing my viewing activity in Netflix? According to the

I take it that you have to get out of the current message and thread, and
there’s no way to accomplish this while in the message one is currently reading?

Moving Individual Email Messages Found Within A Thread

2016-09-18 Thread Brian Hansen
Using the latest iOS, how do I go about selecting and moving individual email
messages to another account? Each time I’ve opened the individual message that
I want to move, and then go through the normal steps, I end up with the entire
thread being moved, to the new location, not the individual message. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Blessings,

Brian

Re: upgrade

2016-09-13 Thread Brian Hansen
I had the same exact problem when trying to update my 6 Plus. The only way I
was able to get past all of this was to have my wife unlock my phone, and then
again after it rebooted. Once I got to the home screen, I turned VO off, and
then back on again. This time Alex came back up, and everything seems to be
working like it should.

Moderator Contact Info for the Mac Visionaries Group Needed

2016-05-15 Thread Brian Hansen
I just picked up my first Mac the other day, and I tried using the email
link posted on here to get subscribed to the Mac Visionaries list. I seemed
to have had some kind of error responding the first time to their automated
email, and after my second attempt, it said that I had been denied. If
anyone here could send me the email, or contact info for the moderator, I
would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

RE: Losing Speech

It happened to me when I was trying to use Siri to send an MSG, and the
phone rang right when she was wanting me to dictate my message. The only
way I was able to get Voice-Over back was to completely shut down the

Is anyone else experiencing the bug where voiceOver stops talking but you
can still hear the clicks? I've noticed it since upgrading to 7.1.
I have an iPhone 5S.

I too have had the a battery drain since upgrading to 7.1.

I have turned off after charging then turned back on and it helps but one
day the phone battery completely drained in half a day.
I called apple and they did a battery test and it was good so they wanted
 me
 to completely erase and restore.
This had been done recently for another issue and I told them I would
continue to work with it and do it later if necessary.

Thanks for the earlier suggestion on checking background app refresh and
turning off the drop box and fourswaure and google maps.
 I will try that today.

The battery drains much faster now with IOS 7.1

 I have bluetooth turned off.
I have noticed a new update always turns it on and I have to go turn it
 off
 again.

Those around me who have IPhones are not having this issue and do not use
 voice over.

College Baseball and Softball Score Announcements

Is there an app out there that will give me push notifications for College

Hi,

yup, I totally understand where your coming from. In this case, I think
just sending them the information via e-mail or text might be the easiest
way to go. Otherwise, you will need to manually add or edit your contact
before sharing it then, reediting or deleting your contact when done.

Duplicating a contact On My iPhone, Is It Possible?

2013-05-13 Thread Brian Hansen
I need to share a contact, but I don't want to Sher birthday info and other
things like that. Is it possible to somehow duplicate the contact so I can just
delete the info out of the second one that I don't want shared? Or is there a
way to select just the fields I want to share? Even if I had to use another
app to occomplish this, it would be worth it. Thanks for any help or thoughts
you might have.

Blessings,

Brian

Re: Sharing Calendar & Appointment Info

Yes I did try that. It seems that if one syncs their calendar with Outlook,
then one won't have access to the Invitees choice at all.

The odd thing is that I checked two of my friends iPhones, and my friend who

In all honesty, I'm not really sure what to say. You should actually have a
field that is labeled "invitees". I don't know why you don't have this. It
doesn't make any sense to me.

Re: Sharing Calendar & Appointment Info

2012-11-28 Thread Brian Hansen
Hi Loreal,

When I swipe through the different fields & choices, I'm finding the following:

Event description
Event Location
Start & Stop Times
Repeat
Alerts
URL
And notes.
There doesn't seem to be anything past the notes section. So I'm still stumped
on this one.

Blessings,

Brian

Re: Sharing Calendar & Appointment Info

2012-11-27 Thread Brian Hansen
I just created a new calendar event for next Monday that my wife will need. I
didn't find any kind of option for inviting someone to share this with.

Blessings,

Brian

Re: Sharing Calendar & Appointment Info

2012-11-27 Thread Brian Hansen
We're not using anything like Google's calendar, just the calendars on each of
our phones. This is why I was looking for a way to easily share calendar events
back n' forth.

Blessings,

Brian

Sharing Calendar & Appointment Info

2012-11-27 Thread Brian Hansen
Is there a way my wife & I can share our individual calendar entries on our
iPhones with each other in the same way we can share individual contacts?

Blessings,

Brian
