My advice would be to practice at home with a printed page or possibly a book. Lighting in restaurants tends to be low, so you might want to experiment in different lighting conditions. So far, I've only used Textdetective once to help me identify some new violin strings and it worked like a charm, far better than Talking Goggles ever did. In the latest update to Pandora, I can't find where to add artists to a particular station. There used to be a button for it just after the station name in the Station tab. Any suggestions? Quick question about charging
I got some new bluetooth headphones for Christmas and the charge cord plugs into a USB jack. Can I plug it into my IPhone wall charger? When I try to retrieve voicemail from AT&T it prompts me for my password and puts up a num pad, but VoiceOver cuts out so I can't hear what numbers I'm pressing. The really weird part is that occasionally V O will read the numbers, but that's not usually the case, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern here. Then even more bizarrely, sometimes when I try to input my password and touch a single number VoiceOver will read out a string of 5 or 6 numbers, then the pleasant AT&T voice will say, "I'm sorry you're having trouble. Please try again later." Does anyone else have this problem? If so, do you have a good work around. I'm not sure if this is a question for Apple, AT&T or both. Bluetooth headphone recommendations?
I'm looking for some cans with good sound for about 100 bucks. I don't necessarily need a headset, but if that's included, so much the better. Can you do this on the phone??? Or do you have to use ITunes on the computer. My Jaws, XP, and Itunes don't talk to each other very well, even using the Blind Tunes scripts. Pandora volume and data
Is there a way to adjust the music volume in the Pandora app? Also, can you disable data, and force wifi? Finally, the only way I can figure to turn it off is to do a two finger double tap. App switcher in IOS 6
What gestures do I use to access and control the app switcher in IOS 6? I have a nagging suspicion I've been leaving apps open when I go from one to another. What I normally do is double tap the back button until it disappears, then press the home button to take me back to the home screen. How do I actually close programs? This is impoartant because I've read on this list that one should empty the app switcher before taking the leap into IOS 7, a leap which I plan to put off as long as I can. Oy, I'm leaving in an hour for a nearly two week trip and expected to go no mail for this group using the link at the bottom of each message. Learning Safari
I'm trying to find my way around Safari on a 4S using gestures alone. Can anyone tell me if there's a shortcut to the search field. I can't seem to find it. How about a gesture to take me to my home page? Is there a comprehensive list of gestures for navigating the web? Everything I've found so far has been keyboard based. Phone numbers in Contacts
Is it possible to have two numbers listed in a single contact? Specifically, I'd like to include a cell and home phone. As I swipe through the fields I see Mobile, then IPhone, the distinction escapes me, and later there's a home, but it is for emails. Best color identifier?
Any suggestions for the best one out there? Currently I have Color ID, but it's less than reliable. Just now it told me my skin was purplish blue. Either there's something terribly wrong with me or with the app, and I feel pretty healthy, so I suspect the latter. MyWay lite verses classic
Is it worth spending the money to upgrade to the paid version? Is the classic more accurate than the lite? Using the lite version, which I like a lot for my purposes, some of the points are way off in the woods, instead of on the street where I placed them. Are there any other reasons to upgrade other than the fact that it will stop bugging me with messages asking for money? NLS books on an IPhone
Is it possible to play digital talking books from the NLS in the states on an IPhone? The BARD website talks about getting a code from the manufacturer in order to play books on something other than an NLS player. I googled the CarTunes player just to see what it was, and one of the first links on the results page was a YouTube video showing how to use it. Apparently you have to do all the gestures on the album graphics, but how we would find that is unclear. IStore and Jaws
Hi Folks, I'm new to the list, new to Apple products, and I have a brand new I4S. My first big snafu is trying to make the Jaws forms mode work with the IStore registration form. I can get into forms mode with the enter key, but it won't let me enter any data. I'm using Jaws 12. I thought it would be faster on my familiar old desktop than on this amazing new phone, Lol.
