Buying iPhone 13 or wait for iPhone 14

2021-12-15 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
Hi friends, currently I'm using iPhone X in very good condition and want to
upgrade to the newest iPhone.
So, I should go for iPhone 13 or wait for iPhone 14, as reports suggest
some major upgradation are expected in iPhone 14 but I felt these are all
for sighted people and no reports suggesting anything new for blind or
voice over user's perspective.
So, do you think I should wait or go for iPhone 13 only?

Your suggestion will be highly appreciable!

How to increase storage on your iPhone with this unusual trick

2016-04-02 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
How to increase storage on your iPhone with this unusual trick

An unusual trick which can dramatically increase the available storage
space on your
iPhone
 has been discovered.

The trick is capable of freeing up gigabytes of space on your phone,
which always come in handy if you're using a lower-capacity device.

To see the trick in action, go to Settings>General>About, and scroll
down to 'Available'.

Check how much storage you have left, and then head to the iTunes Store.

Search for a film which is bigger than the space left on your phone.
Something like The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (which clocks in
at 6.84GB) should
do the trick.
Then click 'Rent' at the top of the page. Don't worry -- if you don't
have room, you won't be charged, and an error box saying you don't
have enough available
storage will appear.

After you've clicked 'OK', head back to settings and check your
available storage again. It should have increased, potentially quite
significantly.

The trick was discussed on Reddit's iPhone forum, where some users
with higher-capacity phones said they had gained up to 4GB of space in
just a few tries.

Regards
Harshit

Re: Predictive text

2015-12-15 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
Hello, I am finding it pretty useful, you don't have to type each and every
full word but instead few characters and it will predict current as well
the next word automatically. Rarely I have to ignore, but I still keep on
typing and it will keep predicting and when you want, just tap over it and
it will take ready to type another word.

Apple Posts Accessibility Page for TVOS;

Apple Posts Accessibility Page for TVOS; Details Support for New Apple TV
J.J. Meddaugh Wednesday, 09-Sep-2015 5:26 PM ET

Apple has posted an accessibility overview page for its new TVOS, the
software powering the new Apple TV and many of the standard
accessibility features are included as expected. For new users, press
the Menu button three times to activate VoiceOver. Many of the same
gestures including flicks, taps, and the rotor are included. While the
Zoom magnification feature is enabled, users can double click the Siri
button to speak the focused content and magnify text up to 15X. Bold
text, increased contrast, and reduced motion are also included,
features standard on other Apple products. While closed captions are
specifically noted, there is no mention of audio description on the
accessibility page, though it certainly may be available under
settings or in specific apps. The accessibility shortcut (pressing the
Menu button 3 times) can be enabled to toggle VoiceOver, Zoom,
captions, or other accessibility features though like on other Apple
devices, the shortcut isn't enabled by default. Here's a link to the
TVOS accessibility page.

Apple unvails newest iPhone, iPad pro, apple watch and apple TV in the event

2015-09-09 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
SAN FRANCISCO — Tim Cook has unveiled two new iPhones, as well as the new
Apple TV, iPad Pro and Apple Watches at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic
Auditorium
for another one of Apple’s patented press events.

iPhone

“While they may look familiar we have changed everything about these new
iPhones,” said Tim Cook.

Apple has updated its two smartphones. The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus
are available in four colors: silver, gold, space gray, and rose gold. The
devices are now made from 7000 series aluminum, which is an aircraft-grade
material. It’s stronger than the previous phone aluminum and is unlikely to
bend.

Apple on Wedenesday, September 9, 2015, unveiled the new iPhone 6S and 6S
Plus as the "most advanced smartphones in the world," Cook said. "While they
may look familiar, we have changed everything about these new iPhones." The
phones come in four aluminum colors, including rose gold, gold, silver and
gray.

phones come in four aluminum colors, including rose gold, gold, silver and
gray.

The devices’ biggest addition is a 3D touch screen, a feature introduced on
Apple trackpads and the Apple Watch, that was previously known as Force
Touch.
The technology recognizes new gestures like pressing and holding. It
vibrates slightly to let you know it’s been pressed.

The new iPhones also come with a 12 megapixel iSight rear camera, with 50%
more pixels than the iPhone 6.

iPad Pro

As expected, Apple is making a bigger, faster iPad. The iPad Pro is 12.9
inches. It’s the same height as the iPad Air, so you can run iPad Air apps
side
by side. The screen has 5.6 million pixels — more than a 15-inch MacBook
Pro with a Retina display.

The iPad Pro starts at $799.

Inside it’s much faster. The iPad Pro has a new A9X 64-bit chip. It’s 1.8
times faster than the previous iPad’s CPU (“desktop class” according to
Apple
executive Phil Schiller). It is powerful enough to edit three streams of 4K
video at a time. It has a 10-hour battery life, is super thin, weighs just
over 1.5 lbs.

“Why make an iPad with a bigger display?” asked Schiller. Good question!

Apple on Wedenesday, September 9, 2015, unveiled an iPad Pro. The new
tablet device has a starting price of $799, with the optional purchase of
an Apple
Pencil, a low latency stylus that sells for an additonal $99.

an Apple

Games and movies look better on a bigger screen, he said. It’s big enough
to have a full-size keyboard on the screen. If you don’t want to type on the
screen, Apple has made a new smart keyboard that doubles as a cover,
Microsoft Surface-style. The keyboard is coated with a thin fabric.

The company is also making its own stylus, but with the usual over-the-top
design and marketing. Yes, it’s the Apple Pencil, a low latency stylus that
feels like a real pencil. It even got its own Jony Ive narrated videos. it
“feels like a true writing or drawing instrument,” said Ive.

As the name implies, the iPad Pro’s real target audience is business users.
To show that it’s serious, Apple brought out a very unexpected partner to
demo
the iPad Pro: Microsoft’s Kirk Konenigsbauer. He demonstrated Microsoft
Office for iPad Pro using the Apple Pencil.

Adobe also demoed its IPad Pro apps including a new product called
Photoshop Fix, a retouching tool. Using the iPad Pro and new stylus,
Adobe’s Eric Snowden
did some realtime edits including the odd choice of changing a photo of a
model to make her smile more. (It was the first woman on stage during the
presentation.)

For the final demo, Irene Walsh from 3D4Medical showed off her startups 3D
medical app that shows 3D interactive anatomy images for medical students
and
patients.

The company also announced a new iPad Mini 4.

Apple TV

“We believe the future of television is apps” said Tim Cook before
introducing the expected new Apple TV.

The latest Apple TV features a third-party App Store, a new remote, Siri
controls, and a completely overhauled operating system. The TV now runs on
tvOS,
which is based on iOS and “built for the living room,” according to Apple’s
Eddie Cue.

The device will start shipping in October and cost $149 for the 32 GB
version and $199 for 64 GB.

The new black remote features a glass touch surface on the top half, so you
can navigate the Apple TV with swipes and other gestures. The Bluetooth
remote
has volume controls for the TV and a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope.
It can last three months on one charge. It recharges using a Lightning
connector.

Hello friends, as we have a broad idea of, wifi connection, locked screen
and connected to charging are required for manually backing up data to
iCloud on iPhone running 8.4.1 device.

Confusion here is, all the three things are required simultaneously or
just wifi will make the job done?

  Thank you!!

Actually, toggling speech on and off is a three finger double tap.

A two finger triple tap gets you the item chooser.

Apple announces iOS 9, release later this year

2015-06-08 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
Apple has just announced the next version of iOS, unsurprisingly
called iOS 9. With the latest version of its mobile platform, Apple is
focusing on making
it smarter and more powerful, starting with a major upgrade to the
Siri virtual assistant. Siri now has a feature called Proactive that
can offer app suggestions
and more based on context such as time of day or location. It's a lot
like Google Now, Google's version of the virtual assistant, telling
you how far away
your next appointment is based on traffic or starting music when you
plug headphones into your phone. Proactive lets Siri see what apps you
have on your
phone and suggest useful ones based on what you're trying to do. Apple
says that Siri can also look into your inbox to ID incoming calls that
aren't in
your address book. All of this is wrapped into a new user interface
for Spotlight that appears when you swipe down on a home screen in
iOS.

iOS 9 also introduces deep linking within Spotlight searches, letting
you access content within apps whenever you do a system-wide search,
instead of just
opening the app's main page. Spotlight also can do unit conversions
without opening a web search, something that Siri has done for a
while, but now queries
can be typed in addition to spoken. Apple says that all of this new
intelligent processing happens on the phone itself, meaning your data
isn't being sent
to a server in the cloud. It's a different stance than Google or
Microsoft take, which leverage cloud processing to power their virtual
assistants on Android
and Windows Phone.

Apple iOS 9 Proactive

Apple's mobile payments service, Apple Pay, is also getting
significant updates in iOS 9. First, it's launching in the UK, and
will be compatible with
more banks and credit card providers. It is also gaining support for
store credit cards and loyalty cards. And finally, Apple is killing
the Passbook name
in favor of a new app called Wallet, which integrates credit cards,
debit cards, store cards, and loyalty cards in one place.

The basic Notes app that's been included in iOS since the beginning is
getting some new features, such as image insertion, checklists, and
sketches. It's
a lot closer to an Evernote competitor than ever before.

Apple's oft-criticised Maps app is getting some much-requested
upgrades, including support for transit directions. The transit
directions feature supports
trains, buses, subways, and is launching in more than 20 cities,
including New York, San Francisco, Beijing, London, Berlin, and more.

Apple Maps transit directions

New for iOS 9 is an app called News, which, as you might expect from
its name, is a place to get news content from a variety of sources.
Articles are presented
in a mobile-formatted layout that loads quickly and has informative
animations and full-bleed images. Apple has partnered with a number of
news organizations
to provide content for the new app, such as CNN, Time, Wired, ESPN,
Buzzfeed, and yes, The Verge. The app also can display articles from
any web link,
but Apple says the best experience is with those that have been
specifically built for the app, much like Facebook's new Instant
Articles. News is very
similar to Flipboard and a number of other mobile reading apps that
have been in the App Store for years. Apple claims the app will get
smarter the more
its used and will suggest content and articles based on what you
prefer to read. News will be first available in the US, UK, and
Australia.

Apple News in iOS 9

iOS 9 also introduces new power-user features designed specifically
for the iPad. The on-screen keyboard includes shortcuts for cut, copy,
paste, and more,
as well as a new mode that turns the keyboard into a trackpad. Perhaps
the biggest change to the way iOS works is in the new multitasking
mode for the
iPad. iOS 9 now lets you run two apps side-by-side at the same time, a
feature that's been a hallmark in Microsoft's Surface tablets and
Samsung's Galaxy
tablets for a long time. A redesigned task switcher lets you swipe
apps in to the same screen, much like Windows 8, and both apps remain
fully active on
the screen at the same time. Apps can be split 50-50 or 70-30 on the
screen, and the iPad's existing multi-finger touch gestures work in
either side. Videos
can be watched in a picture-in-picture viewer that can be moved around
the screen. Apple says that the split-screen mode will only be
available on the
iPad Air 2 (and presumably new iPads announced later this year), while
picture in picture and the ability to swipe in apps from the side will
come to older
iPads.

iOS 9 multitasking

At a system level, Apple says iOS 9 is more efficient and smaller than
ever. The new software only requires 1.8GB of free space to install,
much less than
the 4.6GB iOS 8 needed. Apple also says iOS 9 has a new low power
mode that can squeeze another three hours of battery life out of a
single charge. Details
about how the new low power mode works are scant, but it's likely that
Apple will limit

Apple Music goes official, free for 3 months

2015-06-08 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
Apple Music, available to users of iPhones and iPads on June 30 in 100
countries, includes a radio station with personalized playlists and a
choice from
millions of songs on demand.
SAN FRANCISCO: Apple unveiled a subscription streaming music service
Monday that could be a powerful rival to online services such as
Spotify and Pandora.

Apple Music, available to users of iPhones and iPads on June 30 in 100
countries, includes a radio station with personalized playlists and a
choice from
millions of songs on demand.

Chief executive Tim Cook said the new Apple Music service would be
the next chapter in music and will change the way you experience
music forever.

The service will be available for $9.99 per month, with a family plan
for up to six people at $14.99.

Apple Music is really going to move the needle for fans and artists,
said Apple's Jimmy Iovine. Online music has become a complicated mess
of apps,
services and websites. Apple Music brings the best features together
for an experience every music lover will appreciate.

The service includes a live radio station called Beats 1, tools to
find curated playlists or individual songs and a social music network
on which users
can comment on music and share it.

How to be safe from iOS flaw that crashes iPhone by a single message

2015-05-31 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
Apple's iMessage platform has been subject of a new bug that shuts
down your entire iPhone after receiving a particular message.

The message, whose second half is in Arabic, can send your phone into
a reboot no matter what task it is performing -- it's proved very
frustrating for
some users and it's not certain what the long term effects are.

Here's the fix: head into your Settings app, then the Notifications
tab, Messages and then switch off the slider called show on local
screen and under
alert style when unlocked choose none.

It's a pretty simple fix but it means if you're sent any more pesky
iMessages you're not going to be sent into the reboot again.

This is the text of the message

Over and over

A bug that means a specific string of text can completely crash
iPhones has led people to take extreme measures to keep their phones
safe.

A problem with the way that iOS handles notifications means that if
people are sent the code -- which includes strange words and unusual
symbols and Arabic
characters -- their phone grinds to a halt and restarts itself, before
becoming unuseable. Apple has said that it is aware of the problem and
is working
on a fix, but until then users have been forced to take the problem
into their own hands.

The most dramatic way of avoiding the problem is to turn off
notifications entirely for the Messages app.

That is done by heading to Settings and choosing Notifications and
then Messages, and swiping the toggle button so that Show on Lock
Screen is off and
the alert style when unlocked is set to none. Messages will still
show up in the notification centre and as a small badge on the app on
the home screen,
but won't be able to load up as banners and shut down the phone.

The problem also seems to hit the Apple Watch. Turning off
notifications in the same way seems to remedy that.

An easier and less dramatic way of avoiding some of the chance of it
happening is to filter out unknown senders. That can be done from the
Messages options
in the Settings app.

Turning that setting on means that if a stranger sends a text, it is
sent into its own conversation and doesn't bring up an alert. That
means that people
who aren't in your contact book won't be able to make the bug happen --
you'll still get alerts from your friends, for better or for worse.

If the problem has already happened, it can be got around by either
sending a message to the person who you received the problem one from,
or sending yourself
a text. But since the Messages app is broken by the bug, users have to
take a roundabout route to do either.

You can either ask Siri to send a text, or do so from the share sheets
that can be found in most apps, such as Photos. It doesn't matter
what's said in
the text, as long as it's sent to yourself or the offending effective
power message sender.

Once that's done, the Messages app should come back to life and you
can head in and delete the conversation.

Apple has said that it is aware of the problem and is working on a fix.

Hundreds of forum users are reporting the issue. JoeyTheBoey on Reddit
said, I have an un jailbroken iPhone 6 and it resprings my phone, but
only if I'm
not in the messages app, then it will show the message notification
badge when I get back in.

Jjc123cj on Reddit said, Don't test this on your iPhone 6! I sent it
to myself and now my messaging app crashes when I try to open it ):

Apple News on Twitter has spoken to Apple's senior engineers who
admitted they know there is a problem and said that they are hard at
work trying to fix
it.

why Voice over not speaking in auto pridiction automatically?

2015-05-01 Thread Dr. Harshit Jaithwar
Hi folks, in apple vis direct touch typing podcast, I note that Voice
over was speaking the predicted text automatically when entering some
characters. And pressing space bar selects the desired word while
typing

But my voice over in iPhone6 with IOS 8.3 is not speaking predicted
text automatically like this, but yes showing predicted words on top
of the my keyboard, which I can select by tapping

Note

VO speaks every characters and words after I type normally

Every setting in the keyboard like prediction, auto correction are all on.

Would be highly appreciate if someone can throw light on, where I am
getting wrong her or this was a feature of previous IOS

  Thanks!
