App for Transfering Music from i Device to Mac iTunes

2016-03-08 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi,
Does anyone know of an accessible app for transferring music from an iPhone
or similar device to iTunes on a Mac. iTunes wants to delete music if it is
on a device but not on the Mac's iTunes due to its syncing criteria.
Thanks.

Re: Calendar Replacement

Hi,
I have been happy with the VO Calendar app. It makes reading your events in a
weekly format easy. The layout is well designed.

Setting up Dropbox

2014-02-07 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi,
I just reset apps on a new iphone. Dropbox starts up with an initial screen
which asks the user to click to sign in. No amount of tapping, etc. gets the
sign-in screen to appear. Does anyone know any tricks for getting this to work?
Thanks.

I did not zip up the .brf file. That's a good suggestion. I assumed that since

I have tried transferring a .brf file using Itunes. It did not show up in BARD.
Has anyone else had luck with this method? I ended up having success with using

For example, Russ Kiehne posted these instructions to the list:

Doing some research, I found the following, hope it helps:
Loading books into the BARDmobile app

The BARDmobile app is able to play any DAISY/NISO 2005 formatted
book. To load the books into the iOS device for playback use the
>> following instructions.
 1. If not in a ZIP archive format. You should compress the directory

 3. Open the iTunes application and select the iOS device button at

This will give you a dialog to select the ZIP file from step one. The
book will then be added to the app. You may need to restart BARDmobile
>> to see the new book.

I have noticed that when you select the "browse bard website" link under get
books, There are pop-up menus to choose, for example, magazine titles, first
letter of author's last name, etc. When you select these menus you get a peaker
item that should allow you to scroll through choices. Unfortunately, I am
getting the behavior that the focus jumps out of this peaker item list as soon
as I flick up or down. Has anyone else had better luck with this area of the
app? Or figured out any workarounds? Thanks.

I had a similar problem finding the download link on their site. So, I did a

Re: flack conversion?

2013-04-21 Thread Marc Sutton
If you want to convert flac to m4a so that itunes can play the files there are
two good options--flac tunes and xld. These will keep the files lossless but
change the format to itunes compatible if that is what you want. I believe you
can also choose mp3 as an output option in either program.

Calendar Date Bug

2012-11-03 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi listers,
I have noticed that the calendar when in list mode will sometimes give the
wrong dates in the heading that indicates each date. When it works right,
moving down by heading will move through each day that has calendar events.
When this bug appears, dates are out of whack. Has anyone else experienced this
and/or come across a solution. If I reset to Day view and then back to List
view it will sometimes fix the problem. Thanks for any suggestions.

Read2Go Braille Question

2012-11-03 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi List,
When you are reading a book in Read2Go with speech, you have to touch the
middle of the screen to resume reading from your last position. If you touch
one of the buttons at the top then reading begins from the beginning of the
section instead. Does anyone know how to accomplish this with a braille
display? That is, touching midscreen in order to resume reading from the last
position. Thanks for any tips.

Re: Braille displays comparison for IOS Devices, particularly iPhone

2012-09-21 Thread Marc Sutton
Hello,
My related question to this thread has to do with reading books or longer
passages of text. Is there a command in Ios to automatically scroll a display
so you can read a book without having to press a command every time you want
another line of text? Obviously larger displays are better for this purpose.
Does anyone have features of a particular display that make book reading easier
that they would like to share. Thanks for any commentary on this topic.

Re: Beginner with twitter and tweet list

Hi,
In Tweetlist you can select the More tab and then select "search for @user". If
you type their name in the search field and select them from the result list,
there is either a follow or unfollow button in the ensuing screen.

Re: Where To Question

Hi Esther,
Thanks for your reply. I am actually using an iphone. I found that flicking
right and left doesn't reveal the email, twitter, etc. buttons. But, thanks to
your advice, i just touched the screen just above the home button and
eventually got these buttons to be spoken. I have noticed this type of behavior
in a few other apps such as Motion Gps. I will now remember to do more spatial
exploring. Thanks.

Hi List,
When I click on share item in the WhereTo app, all that appears is a "dismiss

rest of the text which I assume is about recipient email address, etc.? I would

Braille Connect

2012-07-07 Thread Marc Sutton
Hello Listers,
I am trying to use a Braille Connect 12 with an iphone 4. It's paired
successfully but no braille shows up on the display. Does anyone have ideas of
what might be happening. Thanks.
Marc
