Question about latest update of Voice Dream Reader

Hi all.

I just updated to the latest version of Voice Dream Reader, and I was 
particularly intrigued by the reading list option. It is quite easy to add 
books from my VDR library to my reading list, but I don’t actually see the list 
itself. All I see is the list of books in my library and double tapping on one 
opens it just like always without allowing me to access the reading list. Could 
anyone explain how the reading list option is supposed to work? I’d really 
appreciate any help you can offer.

I’m wondering if any of you might be able to give me some suggestions of 
accessible apps dealing with mindfulness or meditation. I’ve browsed the app 
store and there are a ton of them, but I have no idea which ones work with VO.

Dropbox and BARD Mobile

Hi, all.

I am attempting to load a BARd book into the BARD Mobile app from dropbox onto 
my iPad. The file is in a dropbox folder which I can find on the iPad. Then, I 
double tap on the zip file and then double tap on the share button. Supposedly, 
I should be taken to a menu with an “open in” option, but this doesn’t seem to 
happen. Instead, I am given an option to email a link to someone. I’ve looked 
for the menu I’m supposed to see, but I can’t seem to find it. Can someone tell 
me what I’m doing wrong?

I normally download from the Bard Mobile app directly, but something seems to 
be wrong with the wish list feature there. Instead of seeing my wish list from 
newest to oldest, I see it from oldest to newest which makes it impossible to 
see the end of the list.

Anyway, I’m wondering if anyone can help out. Any help would be greatly 
appreciated.

I have several hundred books in Voice Dream Reader. I’m running the latest 
version of IOS on an iPad I bought earlier this year, and I’m not having any 
problems.

Trouble with Battery gage on my iPad

Hi, all.

I got a new iPad earlier this month, and everything is working well except one 
thing. When I charge it, I have to turn it off and back on again in order for 
the battery gage to display an accurate percentage. I can have it plugged in 
for five or six hours, but it will only say it’s 23 percent charged unless I 
power the iPad off and back on again. Does anyone know of a way I can fix this?

Can you give me some tips for making Google Docs work well? It’s used pretty 
often by a website I work for, and I have tons of trouble with it. I’ve tried 
both on the mac and on my iPhone, and have very little luck.

Question about Cloud Sync on Voice Dream Reader

Hi, all.

I enabled Voice Dream’s Cloud Sync option so my librariy would be synced across 
my phone and iPad. However, it doesn’t seem to have worked. The books that are 
on my iPad are not on my phone. I can see them if I look at the folder in 
iCloud drive, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to add them. Can someone tell 
me what I may have done wrong?

 independently back up your Voice Dream content to your computer. I will
 say
 that I had to do a full restore of my iPhone 6 from an iTunes encrypted
 backup do to a problem with the Fleksy Keyboard app upgrade and all my
 Voice
 Dream books were in the app after the restore. So an iTunes encrypted
 backup
 does back up that content but restoring it is an all or nothing endeavor.
 
 If someone knows how to backup and restore just Voice Dream content to
 their
 computer, I'd love to hear how.

backing up and restoring books in Voice Dream Reader

Greetings, all.

I’m wondering if someone can give me instructions on exactly how to back up and 
restore data from the Voice Dream Reader app. There has been some talk of a 
database file that may or may not be necessary, and I don’t want to back it up 
incorrectly, causing me to lose a pretty large number of books once I delete 
the app.

Question about Voice Dream Reader capacity

Hello, all.

I’m using Voice Dream Reader on an iPad mini running IOS 8.3. It works well for 
the most part, but I’ve noticed something strange happening from time to time.

I use dropbox to add files to the app. Periodically, I’ll add a file and it 
will be there for a day or so. Then, I’ll add another file, and a file that was 
previously added will disappear from the list of files. I’m not sure why this 
happens. Is there a limit to the number of files the app can hold? If not, does 
anyone know why this might be occurring?

Marble as third party keyboard

I just bought the MBraille third party keyboard option, but can’t figure out 
how to get it to show up in the list of keyboards I can add. I went to 
settings, general, keyboards, add new keyboard, but MBraille didn’t show up. Is 
there another way to set this up?

Attempting to use MBraille for the first time

Good morning.

I downloaded the free version of MBraille, just so I could see what it was like 
before buying it. I’ve been using it in away mode on my iPhone6 just because 
that seemed like the easiest way.

Anyway, I’m wondering what experiences others have had with the app. What does 
it mean that it’s a third-party keyboard if you purchase it as such? Also, is 
the keyboard capability part of the $39.99 price paid for the full version.

Any tips, tricks, or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Pages question

Pages is on my phone, but I'm not sure how it deals with saving documents. 
Ideally, I'd like to be able to save them to a dropbox folder. Does anyone know

Copy, paste and orientation in IOS8

Hi, all.

I have a couple of questions about Ios8.

I use BrailleTouch a lot for emails, text messages, etc. If I want to use the 
app for things like pages, how do I paste the text from the clipboard into the 
app of my choosing?

Totally unrelated, but I need to lock my phone's orientation. I'd like it to 
stay in portrait mode. Can someone help?

I bought BrailleTouch shortly after it came out. It meets my needs well enough 
so I didn't see the sense in buying any other Braille keyboard apps. If the 
onscreen braille keyboard didn't give me so much trouble, I'd use it. As it 
stands now, BrailleTouch is what works.

Hi, all.

I just got an iPhone6 on Friday. This is my first phone with touch Id 
capability, but I can't get it to work. I keep placing and lifting my finger on 
the home button, as the phone directs. I then get this message about adjusting 
my grip and keep going to capture the edge of your print. I double tap on 
continue and then place and lift my finger again and again. Eventually, it 
tells me touch Id is ready. I have touch ID set to unlock my phone. However, 
when I lock the phone, and place my finger on the home button, nothing happens. 
The phone doesn't unlock. It doesn't even ask if I want it to unlock. It just 
sits there.

Also, the onscreen braille keyboard refuses to work for me. It tells me I need 
to calibrate dot placement by pressing dots 4, 5, and 6 followed immediately by 
dots 1, 2, and 3. This would be all well and good if I could locate dots 1, 2, 
and 3. 4, 5, and 6 seem to be no problem. Basically, the keyboard is pretty 
useless to me as it is. I don't understand about calibrating, and, no matter 
how hard I try, I can't figure out the dot placement.

Can anyone offer advice on either of these issues? If so, I'd appreciate the 
assistance.

strange occurrence with Ipod 5th and earbuds

Good morning, all.

I have a 5th gen ipod. I've been using it with skull candy earbuds. Over time, 
three sets of these have stopped working in the Ipod. They continue to work in 
my phone, and in my computer, but not in the pod. The headphone jack itself 
does not seem to be damaged as apple earbuds work just fine when plugged in. 
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing such bizarre behavior?

If it does have to do with the Skull Candy earbuds, does anyone know of a 
similar brand? I have a hard time with the shape of the apple earbuds. I need 
something that will actually go inside my ear, which the apple buds do not.

I've never used it with dropbox. I've used it after transferring books to my 
phone through ITunes. However, I would suggest transferring them to the native 
music app. When you open speedup, it sees the books there, and you can speed 
them up from there.

question about returning Seeing Eye app

Hello, all.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to get a refund for the Seeing Eye 
subscription. I've had it for about a month, and it simply doesn't meet my 
needs. Blindsquare performs much better in the area in which I live, and, 
frankly, $70 is quite a bit to have spent on something that doesn't work for me.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate the information.

I have no idea if there's a way to transfer the license. Just from looking at

 mistakes I might have made.

Deleting items from music app

Hi, all.

I'm trying to clear out a bunch of music from an IPod touch. I thought I could 
do command A in Itunes and then command delete to get rid of what was selected. 
The selecting part works just fine, but it doesn't seem to want to delete from 
the IPod. It just sits there, but the amount of stuff on the pod doesn't change.

If anyone knows how to remedy this, I would be very grateful.

Good morning, all.

I've started using the Kindle app for IOS. I've heard from a few people that 
it's possible to loan books to other people who also use the app. However, I 
haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Might someone be able to tell 
me how?

Any help would be appreciated.

No. Twitterific isn't working for me either, and it is the older version that 
I'm using. Also, Nightowl refuses to work on my Mac, so I'm out of options for 
twitter. At least for the moment.

 with voice over although only minor ones. wish the older version still worked 
 because it was easier to use i think. if anyone is able to get the old 
 version to work let me know. i have a backup of the older version on my 
 computer and might uninstall the latest version and attempt to see if 
 reinstalling the older version makes it work once again. however, apparently 
 i am not the only one who is finding that it is no longer working.
 
 on that issue, why might it be working? a developer could not have done 
 something on their end to provent the older version from working. either 
 twitter had a change in its settings that the developer took advantage of in 
 releasing a new version which costs money, or the app was designed to stop 
 working at a certain period of time. never seen an iphone application stop 
 working without some update having been made and screwing it up. but, if no 
 change in the IOS took place and no update in the app took place, i dont see 
 how it would just stop working in this manner.

I wondered about that when I was reading an article about IOS7. Hopefully, 
there will be a way to disable the automatic updating of apps.

I also wonder how the changes in switching between apps will affect 
accessibility.

Just double tap when it tells you that you can skip by pressing tab. then, it 
will move on to the next screen.

Help with King's Corner

Hi, all.

I just bought the Kings Corner app. I understand the basic rules, but I can't 
figure out how to move the cards where I want them. For example, how would I 
put a 2 on top of an ace? This looks like a very cool game. Now, I just need to 
learn how to play it.

Thank you, Jenny. I had the double tap part figured out, but the holding and 
dragging eluded me. Hopefully, this will make the game easier to play. Also, 
thank you for the reminder about descending order. My initial instinct is to 
move in ascending order which is not correct.

I seem to be unable to move cards properly. I tried to move a black queen onto 
a red king. I just needed to move it one slot to the right. I double tapped and 
held and tried to move the card. I heard nothing. I tried moving other cards 
just as an experiment. Nothing would go on top of anything. It could be placed 
before, after, or between. Never on top. Also, left is the only way I can move 
anything. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Unable to download iTunes10.7

Hello, all.

I just got my iPhone5. I backed up my 4, and then attempted to connect the new 
phone. I was told I needed itunes 10.7 in order for the phone to work. I asked 
itunes to check for updates, and was told that 10.6.2 was the latest version.

I went to apple's site, and tried to download itunes 10.7. I clicked the 
download link and then got stuck in this weird frame where mac OS10 was 
selected. However, there was no button or link to click to actually download 
the software. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Epub files that I need to put in IBooks

I have about 30 books in epub format on my computer. I'm trying to get them 
into Ibooks on my iphone, but I can't figure out how to do this. I can't seem 
to get them into Itunes, and I don't know any other way of getting them onto

Contacts will not delete

No matter what I do, I can't get contacts to delete from my phone. I find the 
name I want to delete and go to the edit button. However, I just see all the 
fields I can edit. I don't see a remove or delete contact buttonn. Am I missing 
something, or is there something else I should be doing?

One Uken game inaccessible

Hi, all.

Recently, I've delved into the Uken games MMRPG's. All of them have been 
accessible except one, and that one seems really interesting. It's called 
Mighty Monsters, and seems to have something to do with supernatural creatures. 
It's completely inaccessible though, which is sad.

I contacted the developer, explaining that I had no trouble with the rest of 
their games, but that this one was inaccessible. The response I got was 
lackluster at best. I think that, if more people inform them of the 
accessibility problems, they'll be more willing to update this game, as they'll 
see that they're not just doing the work for one person.

and ask that Mighty Monsters be made accessible with VoiceOver? I would really 
appreciate it, as this is a game I think I'd enjoy.

New MMRPG I've discovered

Hi, all.

I know there are a few people who enjoy the mmrpg's for IOS devices. I just 
discovered a new one called Ultimate Mafia. It has some extra features not 
found in games like the Storm8 ones, and there are ways to get special points 
without spending money. So, if you're interested, search for Ultimate Mafia in 
the app store. It's free.
