Hi Ray,

Yes, the calls will use your cellular network if the signal is decent. Wi-fi
calling is only designed for areas with no cel coverage, or if it’s weak.

Hello Ray,

I suspect you are correct with regard to the phone preferring the native LTE
signal over WiFi calling..

I, too, have WiFi calling enabled on my 6 Plus after having A T & T Voice Dial
service disabled, and being switched over to the HD voicemail system. On my
account, voice over LTE was already enabled.

Anyway, today, on purpose, I went to a local mall where I generally have low
cell signal, around -110 or greater. Definitely not an LTE location. So, I
connected to the mall’s free WiFi system, just for this test, and made and
received a couple of phone calls, just fine, via WiFi. The status screen
indicated that I was using the WiFi calling feature as it listed something like
A T & T plus the name of the WiFi system. I was very impressed.

Re: ATT wifi calling

2015-10-28 Thread Peter Logan
The icon where it normally says TT&T Network .. will now say 'AT&T WiFi
Network' ... at least on mine .. I've also been told the actual icon is
different ... Will also show on your bill as a WiFi call

Subject: ATT wifi calling

I now have it up on the 6plus but in addition to disabling voice dial, I had
to have both VOLTE and
HD voice enabled on the account. The phone also had to be provisioned to
reflect the changes as I
got the phone back in march. Question, how can I tell if the call is going
over the wifi or the

cellular?
