Do you have the 5000MA one or the 1MA one? I've heard from
reviews of the 5000MA one, that your phone and the charger will get a
little warm. I'd purchase the 1MA one when I can save up $80.

I agree. A wireless charger isn't necessary, but like Sieghard, I do find it a
bit more convenient, so I don't regret what I've spent on wireless chargers. I
don't have a mag safe charger, but I do have a leather case. I don't know what
kind of marks a mag safe charger leaves on leather cases, but IMHO, one of the
appeals of a leather case is how they wear over time and become uniquely yours.

Thanks Kelly,
I can understand your reservations. I thought about what you said but found the
alternative very expensive. Buying MagSafe wireless power banks are very
expensive. That is the only choice that does not tie you to a wall outlet as
you charge your device.
Cheers,

Everybody has their preference, I personally find a charging pad much more
convenient, I have one at my desk at work, on my bedside table and in the
living room and just putting the phone down on the charging pad to me is easier
than having to grab a cable and plug it in. Then of course there is the fact
that I still really like to use the wired Earpods and I couldn't use them if I
had my phone plugged in to charge unless I buy one of these splitters which
would mean another gadget which is sitting around and which ultimately ends up
in the landfill because by all indications the iPhone 15 will have a USB-C port
so at that point all the Lightning cables and such will start to become
obsolede.
I have an iPhone 11 and have no plans to upgrade until the earliest next year
when the iPhone 15 will be released so I don't have MagSafe but if I were
tempted to upgrade than it would also be to an iPhone 14 Pro because of LiDAR
and MagSafe. My only complaint with wireless charging is that it is relatively
easy to move the phone especially if I use my wired Earpods in the evening, not
difficult to pull a bit on them and the phone is out of position to charge,
MagSafe would prevent this since the phone is stuck on the charger. It would
also be a lot easier to use an external battery with Magsafe technology, once
again, it would leave the Lightning port available for a wired headset and I
wouldn't need a cable to connect the phone to the battery.

If I'm out and about, I'll take a portable power bank with me. I
usually have my power banks in a case, so I have either a short
lightning to USB cable, or short lightning to USBC cable to easily
connect to my iPhone and the charging begins. It works very well for
me. I do have a magsafe case, but I don't use it all that much
because magsafe charging is way to slow for me, although it does work.

But the Mag Safe is tied to a wall outlet. If you are looking for
convenience, I have a dedicated wall charging block with a 10 foot USB
to lightning cable attached to it. It is always connected to the wall.
Plugging in the iPhone is effortless. This is a lot less inexpensive
than the Mag Safe business.

Thanks Kelly,
I can understand your reservations. I thought about what you said but found the
alternative very expensive. Buying MagSafe wireless power banks are very
expensive. That is the only choice that does not tie you to a wall outlet as
you charge your device.

I was unimpressed with the mag safe technology. The charging pad still
needs to be plugged in so I can just plug in my iPhone once a day.
Also, I wanted a leather case and mag safe chargers make noticeable

You know, I bought it last fall when I got my 13 pro; and I was at the Verizon
store helping a friend sort out what she was going to upgrade to and they had
them on sale ... I think it came with the charger, but I cannot swear to that
as my friend bought it for me as a thank you for my help. She ended up getting
a 12 pro and the same charger plus Airpods and the whole 9 yards.
I am pretty sure the price included the charger.
In any case, always ask before buying.

I bought the Magsafe wireless charger made by Apple.

I just have a very simple, clear, case. No screen protector. I think it was
about $10.
I've never damaged a screen on any iDevice since my iPod Touch 3rd Gen. in 2009.

Any recommendations?

2022-10-04 Thread Cris Ali
Hi folks,
I went ahead and ordered iPhone 14 Pro, which I expect to get in 3 weeks. Now I
am thinking of buying two accessories for it. Here where I need your
recommendations based on first hand experience.
First, I need advice on getting asolid and powerful fast magsafe wireless
charger.
Second, i need advice on getting a good magsafe compatible protective case. I
do not like the bulky type and I prefer the transparent ones.
Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Regards

Re: Cooking apps, have any recommendations?

2015-04-14 Thread Andrew J. LaPointe
Hi does these recipe apps take up much space? I know with downcast, I
can use up most of my memory so I stopped downloading mp3 for now. I would
love to get the food.com app but, I only have 1.3 gigs left of memory and
need some for my grandchildren's videos that are sent to me. I will be
upgrading to the s6 with 128 gigs of memory in September so I won't worry
about space after that. Andy and Shubert

Hi Feliciano,
I like the food.com app. They have a lot of recipes. The app is very
accessible with VO, and you can not only search recipes but save them
to a recipe box.

I personally like I Cookbook but the cost of that is 999, also big up and Siri
helpful, and also crockpot has a online cookbook I think it is $2.99 but also
just using Siri saying what recipe type you're looking for and Siri will find
you several recipes in there March search of the
I cookbook is one that gives you off-the-shelf boxed items to make a recipe you
can also create a menu and a Cookbook file of recipes you like comes in various
categories as main course appetizer salad or Japanese Chinese Italian whatever
type of food you're looking for but the cost of this is not $999 it's nine
dollars
But there's several cookie cookbooks Martha Stewart had several there is also a
well be love Betty Crocker cookbook on the web you can go to that has is very
easy to operate and go through and find recipes and also make a file of recipes
are like so there are a lot of choices very easily use so have fun cooking
because everybody has to eat so this is what I use
There are also some could cook books that are on the web that for for kids to
learn to cook simple things so you can start very simply or start as extreme as
you want to so enjoy cooking everybody

That doesn't really help us narrow it down, but if it's recipe management you
want, try Paprika. It's pricy, but very accessible and easy to use. Pepper
plate is usable, but far less so. It's free, though.

Good morning, the two biggest ones I use the most our food.com and all
recipes.com better, because it has a lot more recipes to offer. You can find it
in the app store under grocery sales.

Re: Any recommendations?

2012-10-01 Thread Ioana Gandrabur
Congratulations for your new iPhone!

I don't have a link to a tutorial but can answer your questions
1. To answer siri you have to tap the listen button. Generally the focus of
VoiceOver is there by default so you can just try double tapping anywhere on
the screen. You can also just press the home or the remote button. It is
noteworthy that if you interact with siri when vo is off she automatically goes
to listen mode after asking you something. Also, many have reported an issue
with screen locking prematurely when interacting with siri via remote button
and thus terminating conversation.

2. Unfortunately when siri sense something, other than her assurance that she
will do so there is no conformation sound. Some hit the home button immediately
after she says she's sending it and get to hear the usual sending sounds. I
just have faith in her after having experimented with checking my send
messages.

Any recommendations?

Howdy everyone!

Well, I'm happy to say that I have my new IPhone 5, and it is pretty cool,
so far! I finally capitulated and went to the ICloud, and I'm glad I did,
as it made data transfer smooth!

Now, I need to know if there are any good recommendations of tutorials or
books. I want to learn more about Siri, because right now, I can talk to
her, but when she asks me questions, I don't know how to answer her and have
her listen to my answer. I also don't know if she did what I asked her to
do regarding things like emails and such.

So, if there are any good Siri tutorials out there, let me know, please.

Jim
