RE: Any way to get more space on an IPhone?

2013-09-21 Thread Jim Portillo
Well, I got all of the data deleted from OOTunes, but unfortunately, that
also took my saved or recent stations as well.

I guess I start from scratch there.

Might as well update to ios 7, huh?

Hi Jim,

If your Ootunes takes up 5 Gig I suspect you are constantly recording when
you listen and are slowly filling up your iPhone with recorded streams from
Ootunes. I just checked in the app store and Ootunes is listed as being 7.6
Megabytes, that is one very very long way from even 1 Gb let alone 5.

Sieghard

Hi,

I've got a 16 Gig IPhone 5 and can not download the new IOS 7 because it
tells me I only have 2.7 gigs available on my phone and it needs at least 3
gigs for it to download.

Do apps really take up that many gigs? Every app I see in the Usage
section takes up megs, not gigs. The only one that takes up 5 gigs is
OOTunes, which I find hard to believe.

Also, I don't have much music on my phone.61 songs, and 15 photos.

Is something up with the phone, or have I really used close to 14 gigs of
pure apps? Again, I find it hard to believe, but I'll take any advice.

What can I do to gain more space?

Jim

Any way to get more space on an IPhone?

2013-09-20 Thread Jim Portillo

Jim

2013-09-20 Thread Christopher Chaltain
This doesn't answer your question, but have you tried downloading and
installing the update with iTunes? I ended up doing it this way just
because I had my iPhone plugged into my PC when I had the time to do the
upgrade. I don't have much free space on my iPhone, but the upgrade went
fairly smoothly. iTunes may not require as much space since the PC is
doing some of the work, such as exploding the update.

I wouldn't think the apps themselves would take up that much space. They
might drag along a lot of data though, such as downloaded books, cached
files (like favorites in DropBox), recordings, cached audio streams and
so on. Try deleting the apps that you don't need and look for ways to
cut down on the data consumed by your heavy hitting apps.

Thanks Chris,

Yeah...That's what I did...trying to delete the apps I didn't need. I don't
believe I have all that much data to begin with.
Interesting, huh?

RE: Any way to get more space on an IPhone?

2013-09-20 Thread Sieghard Weitzel

Regards,

Sieghard
