Re: Apple ID question

2023-05-29 Thread Kelly Pierce
This is correct. An Apple ID is a unique identity. Things are messy
when someone wants to mix and match app purchases and downloads with
different Apple IDs. Same goes for changing an Apple ID without
wiping the device and setting it up as a new iPhone. Just because
someone changes an e-mail address does not mean they have changed
their Apple ID.

If she is trying to update previously purchased apps or redownload previously
purchased apps, she is required to login with her old Apple ID. Or she will
need to download or purchase an app again using her new Apple ID.

She needs to sign out of the app store app. You can do this by tapping and
holding on App Store, then signing out. She can then sign back in with her new
Apple ID.

Re: Sharing an Apple ID question

2018-12-01 Thread Anna Dresner
Hello Joe,

Yes, you can be signed into one ID for purchases and a different one for
iCloud. Family sharing is also an option. If you use Apple Music, Family
Sharing might be preferable because everyone can have their own musical
favorites. If you use iTunes Match, however, sharing an ID for purchases is
better because then everyone has access to everyone's music. Also, everyone has
access to in-app purchases, which isn't the case if you use Family Sharing.

Best,
Anna

Hi Joe,

I would suggest setting up a different Apple ID for iCloud, but using the same
one for purchases.

Best,

can use multiple Apple IDs on the same phone. Likewise you can use the same
Apple ID on multiple phones. For example before iOS eight came out I would use
my Apple ID for my phone as well as my children's phones. This was for apps and
music.however each of my children have their own Apple ID so they could use it
for things like iCloud, iMessage, and face time. The end result was that we
could all buy music and apps under one Apple ID and only pay for them once. Yet
each individual would have their own separate face time and iMessage and iCloud

RE: an iTunes and Apple ID question.

2014-12-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Matthew,

You have to be careful if you sync an iOS device with your library to put music
on it. If said device has been synced with another library, then all that music
will be gone and only your music will be on it. It is much better to give the
other person the music on a USB stick so they can copy it into their itunes
Media folder and add it to their own library and then they can select how they
want to sync it.

Sieghard

I can be more specific. I would want to put music from my personal cd
collection onto another device, music that wasn't bought through iTunes. If I
use iTunes to transfer this music to the new device, will it show up in another
iTunes library on someone elses computer or phone, or is personal music
computer-specific?

an iTunes and Apple ID question.

2014-12-07 Thread Matthew Bullis
Hello, since the arrangement works for me, my work phone is the one I use, and
the Apple ID is one that the entire department uses, even though I'm the
primary user of the content most of the time. My question is, if I use iTunes
to load music onto an I device, will that register the songs so that another
user who logs into the Apple ID will get messages about the music I've loaded
onto my device? In other words, will it actually upload or reference from
device to device? There are a few devices from various coworkers on this ID,
and I don't get any info about what they may have on their devices, though they
may use their own Apple id. I hope I've explained this properly.
Thanks,
Matthew

Re: apple id question

Yes you can do that. If you're iPhone is not set up yet you can double
tap the create new Idee when it asks you to sign in or create a apple
idee.

Re: apple id question

2013-08-01 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Yes it can. This is how I created my Apple ID when I got my iPhone. I'm
not sure since I've done it a while ago, and I already have an Apple ID
set up on my phone, but I'd take a look at Settings -> iTunes and App
Stores.
