Re: Apple Tv accessible Games

2015-12-17 Thread MamaPeach

Amen, we need more games that the blind and sighted can play together.

If they build their app from the ground up with accessibility for sighted
users then there are not just in the blind market. If I was going to write
an app, this is what I would do. In this way too blind and sighted could
play together too.

Some of the developers understand that. The reason I am asking is that they
feel that there is not enough interest they may have to increase the price
of the App on the Apple TV, as there is a lot of work that goes into
creating a game that will work with VoiceOver. The general consensus is that
the market of Blind users with Apple TVs is very small, and they need to
make their money back to develop for the ATV interface, and controls. Some
of them also said that if they can they will keep the price down. They just
want to know what the price point is.

Hello,

Just as an example what would you pay for something like any of the Blind
Fold Games by Kid Friendly Software, or even the games by SomeThing Else

This question is not very easy to answer. It really depends on the
quality and complexity of the app.

Apple Tv accessible Games

2015-12-16 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello Listers,

I am wondering what people with Apple’s 4th Generation Tv would be willing to
pay for accessible games that work with VoiceOver. I am working with a few
people to see what can be brought to the ATV, and the biggest question is what
is a fair price for an app. The developers know that there is a market for
accessible apps, but it is a very small market, and they don’t want to put out
the investment if no-one will be willing to put out the price for the apps.

Thanks,

Ed Worrell

RE: Apple Tv accessible Games

2015-12-16 Thread Jim Ruby
If they build their app from the ground up with accessibility for sighted users
then there are not just in the blind market. If I was going to write an app,
this is what I would do. In this way too blind and sighted could play together
too.

Some of the developers understand that. The reason I am asking is that they
feel that there is not enough interest they may have to increase the price of
the App on the Apple TV, as there is a lot of work that goes into creating a
game that will work with VoiceOver. The general consensus is that the market of
Blind users with Apple TVs is very small, and they need to make their money
back to develop for the ATV interface, and controls. Some of them also said
that if they can they will keep the price down. They just want to know what the
price point is.

I have to agree with this, and if I purchased it on my iphone from what I have
seen you get it for the appletv too under the same purchase.

The way they are handled in the app store is reasonable in my opinion. Why
should they be any different in price just because they would be used on an
Apple TV. The blindfold games offer purchases and the Night Jar and other
games by that developer are around $4.99, I don't see that those are
unreasonable. I myself never pay more than $4.99 for any app, no matter what
it is.

Hello,

Just as an example what would you pay for something like any of the Blind
Fold Games by Kid Friendly Software, or even the games by SomeThing Else
(creators of The NightJar)?
