Getting asked for my Apple password

2019-12-27 Thread karl Smith
Periodically when I start an app on my iPhone I am asked to enter my Apple
password. I can skip passed it and hit cancel and go on but I don't know why
it comes up. If I enter the password it is accepted and I don't get asked
again for a while. Why is this? Thanks.

Re: do you have to enter in your apple password every time you make a purchase?

2019-11-09 Thread Richard Turner
Check your iTunes and App Store settings.
You may have it set to always require immediately.
There should be other options.
But, it has been a long time since I purchased voices in VDR, but I don't
remember having to do that; but that could be because of my settings or because
iOS requirements have changed.

Do you have touch ID or Face ID set up? If so, you can use either one to
purchase apps.

It all depends on whether they are required fields or not.
If they are required later he should be able to skip them now and at least get
his password reset, but I don't know.

And there is probably little you can do since if he needs to reset his password
he would have to do it from his phone or, preferably, a computer. Depending on

would depend if he has set up a rescue email address or phone number.

have him wait a while, then reboot the phone by at least powering it off and
back on.
Then try again. It should let him try 2 or 3 more times.
But, Apple makes it very clear from the beginning that passwords are required

It is a tedious process to reset a password so hopefully the reboot will work.

have him wait a while, then reboot the phone by at least powering it off and
back on.
Then try again. It should let him try 2 or 3 more times.
But, Apple makes it very clear from the beginning that passwords are required
to have at least one capital letter.
It is a tedious process to reset a password so hopefully the reboot will work.

verification codes and keychain password and apple password different

2018-09-21 Thread regina alvarado
Is there a way to change a password in settings from the keychain? I am talking
about where you find the passwords. My password for my apple ID is incorrect.
Keychain has one password and apple ID has another which I can sign in with so
keychain is incorrect. Thanks. Oh, also, Mary talked about being able to have
iPhone put in verification codes. How is this done?

Hi,

You’ve been following the FBI and Apple court case in the news right?

Your only hope is to go to https://iforgot.apple.com

Depending on how you set up your apple id, it may be possible through that site.

Good luck.

Hi,

You’ve been following the FBI and Apple court case in the news right?

Your only hope is to go to https://iforgot.apple.com

Depending on how you set up your apple id, it may be possible through that site.

Good luck.

depends what password. Restrictions and screen lock password can be done. ID

If you click Forgot my Password, you will next be asked to enter your

After you click Next, you have the following 2 choices:

 Reset your password
You can change or reset the password for your Apple ID account by providing
 some information.
 Select your authentication method.

Email authentication: To access your information, we will send an email to
the address(es) on file for you.
Answer security questions: To access your information, you will need to
answer the security question(s) provided when you originally created your
 Apple ID.

The 2 choices, email authentication and answer security questions are radio
buttons, select the one you want and click Next.
Since you said you didn't get an email I suggest you try the second method,
of course you would have to remember the answers you provided.
I think it's likely that maybe you used a different email, but only you
would know that (or not) *smile*.

If this doesn't work you might want to call Apple and see if they can help
you. They might be able to reset it by asking you about the credit card on
file for verification or something like that, but that's just a guess.
If you don't know your security questions and are able to gain access in a
different way I highly recommend you change the security questions and
answers to something you can remember. You can just go to the above link
once you are able to log in and do that.
There also is a place where you can specify an alternative email address,
maybe you did that and the password reset email was sent to that?

I think nowadays with so many passwords, security questions and answers and
so on there is great value in good password programs. I personally use
Roboform Everywhere. It costs me $20 a year (I think it's $75 or something
like that if you prepay it for 5 years) and this stores my passwords on the
secure Roboform server. Here you have a user name (not your email, but one
you choose) and a password to log in and you also have a Master Password
which you use to unlock passcards or SafeNotes in the Roboform application
on the PC or in the app on the iPhone.
The app is very accessible, but you can't automatically copy a password to
the clipboard, but you can show/reveal the password once you put in your
Master Password and then just use the new 3-finger quadruple tap to copy it
 after Voiceover reads it.
The app also has its own browser and you can auto login from the app this
 way.
I also very much like and heavily use the SafeNotes feature where I have
dozens of Notes with answers to security questions, log-in information,
credit card numbers and so on. If you just want to write down anything
that's not sensitive information you can just uncheck the Protected box
and the note will be stored without the need for the Master Password.
Of course all my Passcards and SafeNotes and Bookmarks (another feature) do
sync between all my computers and the iPhone.
If I install a new computer I just download the program, enter my
credentials during the installation and 30 seconds later all my information
 is there.

I know there are other such programs but I have been using Roboform for many
years and in this case for me it's one of those why fix it if it ain't
 broke things.

Find My IPhone has a new feature in ioS7 that requires the Apple ID password to
be entered before using the phone the first time. i don't think that condition
applies here. You might try going into your settings, mail, contacts, etc. to
make sure you have the correct password stored for use with ICloud services.

Re: Constantly Asking For Apple Password

2013-09-26 Thread Tom Frank
Go into Settings, then General, and down to Password Lock. You can change the
setting from Immediately to One minute, five minutes, etc. I changed mine to
one hour.

I agree that the password immediately setting is very annoying.

Re: Constantly Asking For Apple Password

2013-09-26 Thread Christopher Chaltain
You're talking about the pass code, but the subject line and original
message says Apple password, which is something different. I'm just
pointing this out in case the originator was looking for something else.
Maybe they could clarify.

Re: Apple Password Required Whenever Launching Fleksey

2012-08-15 Thread Chris
Yeah, that should fix it, you do not need a password to use this app. In
fact it can even be used in Airplane mode!

Thanks in advance.

Re: Apple Password Required Whenever Launching Fleksey

2012-08-15 Thread Syntellia Inc
Hi Eileen,

Do you have iCloud enabled on your phone? Fleksy now uses iCloud to save
your user dictionary, so you can save it across devices. I am wondering if
this could be an iCloud authentication error.

Please email us at supp...@fleksy.com and we will try to help. It's not an
issue we've encountered before, but if it's a bug we will kill it dead
(smile).

Thanks
Ioannis
