Re: BT keyboard oddity

2012-10-02 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello James. I'm using the Amazon Basics keyboard and it has a dedicated Home
button in the F1. So, if I press this 3 times quickly it will toggle VoiceOver
on or off. However if VoiceOver isn't running, there is no way I'll be able to
turn it on with the VO-H key because this is only mapped to the keyboard when
VoiceOver is running.

I hope this makes sense.

Re: BT keyboard oddity

2012-10-01 Thread Chris
Yes, that makes sense, however I could use triple click escape to turn
VoiceOver back on. Escape appears to be an iKeyboard command and not a
VoiceOver one.

Re: BT keyboard oddity

2012-10-01 Thread James Mannion
Hi, It makes sense that after turning it off with the keyboard that
you would not be able to turn it back on with the keyboard. This is
because the voiceover command, VO-H that you used by pressing it 3
times quickly, simulating pressing the home button 3 times quickly, is
a voiceover command. I do not believe that any voiceover commands are
recognized when voiceover is not running. So therefore of course the
phone recognizes that you are pressing its actual home button when you
go over to the phone and press it, however without voiceover actually
running, it can not recognize VO-H as a press of the home button
because voiceover is not running.

Re: BT keyboard oddity

2012-10-01 Thread Chris
That's not weird because vo-h activates the home button. Now I can also
turn off VoiceOver on the iPhone with 3 presses of the escape key! This
is because iKeyboard uses the escape key to activate the home button!
Not sure if I can turn it on though. Hope so.
