Well guys. I am taking the same result with the battery, than before the update of IOs. I have my GPS working all the time, I have WiFi and Bluetooth working for the whole day, and I talk by phone around 3 hours every day, every day, when I get home, I have the 84 or 88% of battery. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Wayne Merritt Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 3:25 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Had a long talk with Apple and think I might have the battery draining issue resolved. Hello Simon, I restore is whenever you hook your phone up to iTunes and hit the restore button. This will set your phone to factory defaults meaning send you back to the main iOS screen whenever you first get your iPhone out-of-the-box. A hard reset, a hard reset pretty much reset all settings except voiceover. This will shut the phone off and then turn it back on and then you have to configure all your settings again. Apples answer to everything is restore, or do a hard reset. They need to fix the issues that they broke in this latest version. Stop giving us workarounds, and give us a fix for the damn problem! Hello Jim, and Alex and all. Basically she said for me to do the following things which would've been restore and do a hard reset. Re: Battery Draining Issue.
In most cases, Apple's management of the bluetooth stack is extremely good. I never turn my bluetooth off, and if nothing is connected, I only see a 1% to 3% per hour drain compared with when I tested with bluetooth off. In my mind, 3% per hour is almost nothing at all. When I have long iMessaging sessions, it drains my battery quite rapidly. It's as though iMessaging is holding the connection open constantly even though our messages back and forth take time to write and read. One thing you may want to look at is whether the Bluetooth is set to on when you don't have one. This may be draining the battery because it is searching for a Bluetooth device. Re: Battery Draining Issue.
If a lot of emails are coming in that may play a large part in the issue. All of those emails rolling in are network access. Having features actively using the network are going to result in a cost in battery. Also it has been the case for ever in IOS and well may still be that some installations result in battery problems. A fresh restore could help. Also truely be sure to be reasonable in battery expectations and take into account all that is happening. Anything that is constantly or very frequently accessing the internet or doing something with location services or bluetooth are going to play a big part. So oh yeah, I am pulling lots of email may change things a lot. On 9/25/12, Les Kriegler wrote: > Hi Kawal, > > Figuring out battery drain takes into account numerous factors. Re: Battery Draining Issue.
Hi Kawal, Figuring out battery drain takes into account numerous factors. I know that my battery drains faster than it ever did, simply because I use mail when I'm away from my Wifi connection. The mail app is so handy, both in terms of the speed in which messages are retrieved, and the ability to delete messages easily with the introduction of IOS6. I often check mail when I am riding around or for that matter, anywhere when I just have a chance to check mail. My battery has always held up better at home when I'm on Wifi. I would be interested to hear iPhone 5 users experiences as time progresses. Les On Sep 25, 2012, at 6:08 PM, Kawal Gucukoglu wrote: > I made no calls, and received no calls. RE: Battery Draining Issue.
So, that is roughly 5 hours of use, any Emails and/or phone calls during that time? So, if I'm right in adding up your hours, you used 60 percent of your battery in 5 hours. That should mean you would get 8 hours if you drained the battery, or something close to that. Hi, I don't have the iPhone 5 as yet. But, a couple questions: 1. What apps are in the app switcher? 2. How many hours are you talking about? 3. Re: Battery Draining Issue.
Hi, I Think this is more likely a software than a hardware issue. Maybe, the standby bug is raising its ugly little head again? I happen to be having no such issues with my iPhone 5. Yesterday, I left my house around noon with a full charge. I listened to a book for an hour, Made an hour long phone call, was on twitter, listened to some music, used Ariadne, and updated an app. I got home around 7 with my battery around 60%. My phone hasn't been recharged yet, and its currently at 17%. Granted, I didn't use LTE while I was out. Just 3G. hth Ricardo Walker rica...@appletothecore.info Twitter:@apple2thecore www.appletothecore.info On Sep 25, 2012, at 9:59 AM, Kawal Gucukoglu wrote: > Hello All. > > On this list a few days ago, Mark Taylor gave his experiences re the I phone > 5 in the store that he went to. Battery Draining Issue.
Hello All. On this list a few days ago, Mark Taylor gave his experiences re the I phone 5 in the store that he went to. He talked about the battery draining issue. Today, I returned to work with my new I phone 5. Since I've been here, all I've done is look at a few E-mails, listened to a podcast and listening to some music with the screen locked. However when replying to E-mails, I've done this with my bluetooth braille display. Already I am at 40 % battery power after being at 100 this morning and we're not at the end of my day yet. So is there really any improvement to the batery life? Kawal. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
