Charging Apple Watch with the 12W power adaptor.

2015-07-02 Thread Daniel Miller
Hello.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to charge the Apple Watch with the 12W
adaptor you get with iPads? I’m curious, since I have one for charging my 6
Plus, and would like to use only one charger to charge all 3 devices. I’m
pretty sure the extra wattage for that charger is to much for the watch, which
is why I’m asking if anyone knows.

Re: Charging Apple Watch with the 12W power adaptor.

2015-07-02 Thread Daniel Miller
Hi Brent,

The adaptor that comes with the watch is the same 5W adaptor that comes with
iPhones.
Anna, where can I get information on your apple watch book?

RE: Charging Apple Watch with the 12W power adaptor.

2015-07-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You will not damage a device which comes with a 5 Watt charger by using a 12
Watt charger or vice versa. If you use an iPhone or Apple Watch charger on an
iPad it will charge but probably very slowly. If you use the iPad charger for
an Applke Watch it will simply draw the current it needs, remember that wattage
is only one measure and voltage and amperage are also factors. That is the
reason why an iPad doesn't charge on a computer's USB output or maybe just
barely, I believe a computer USB output only outputs 500 Milliamps and the iPad
charger has 2.1 Amps, about 4 times as much.

I think you can use that cable with the puck on one end and the USB on the
other with just about any USB port. It works with an iPhone charger,
external battery packs, etc. I'd imagine that charger will still charge at
the same speed since the watch only takes so much, but I heard iPhones
charge faster from an iPad charger, and this external battery I have that
says it does up to 3 amps on the lightning cable built in.

Subject: Charging Apple Watch with the 12W power adaptor.

Hello.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to charge the Apple Watch with the 12W
adaptor you get with iPads? I’m curious, since I have one
for charging my 6 Plus, and would like to use only one charger to charge all 3
devices. I’m pretty sure the extra wattage for that
charger is to much for the watch, which is why I’m asking if anyone knows.
