Re: Cleaning Up Memory on iPhone 5
Connect the iOS device to the computer. Run iTunes if it does not start automatically. Select the iDevice in the list. The first radial button is summary. If the device has been connected to the computer before, iTunes should automatically back up the device. If not, run a back up to ensure all data on the device is secure. After this is complete, activate the check for update button. iTunes will do everything else automatically after the agreements are agreed to. Updating with iTunes [was "Re: Cleaning Up Memory on iPhone 5"]
I'm using Windows 7 with NVDA. I just plug in my iPhone, launch iTunes and then tab over to the message that says there's a new update for my phone and I tap the space bar on the download and update option. If you use iTunes to upgrade to iOS 7.1, it will automatically fully rebuild the OS and most likely fix the sluggishness. I almost always upgrade via iTunes for this very reason. I just searched for iClean and came up with pretty much the same thing. One was a screen cleaner for 99 cents and the other was free which sounded like the one you were talking about. I hope it's just taken off the market because their working on a better version or something. Maybe a sweet of apps to keep your devices tip-top althought what that could be is beyond me! Hi, Alan. I have heard great things about iClean, but apparently they have taken it off the app store. the iClean program that is now on the App Store is a screen cleaning program where little animals come out and clean your screen for you. Any idea of where iClean can still be found? Or does anyone on the list know of a similar program that is reliable and accessible? Re: Cleaning Up Memory on iPhone 5
I'd also suggest going to the App Switcher and closing all of your apps before powering off your iPhone. I'd also suggest powering off your iPhone instead of doing a hard reset by just holding down the lock button until the power off dialog appears. No reason to do a uncontrolled reset if you don't need to. Christopher (CJ) on the move Chaltain at Gmail > On Mar 9, 2014, at 9:01 PM, Alex Hall wrote: > > Before trying all that, do a hard reset. Re: Cleaning Up Memory on iPhone 5
Before trying all that, do a hard reset. Go to the Home screen, just to give all apps a chance to save. Then, hold down the power and home buttons at the same time, and keep both pressed for about 10-12 seconds. If you have vision, wait until the phone starts booting; if not, give it at least 12 seconds, perhaps a bit more, or grab a sighted person to tell you when the screen lights up. Once the phone begins to boot, release both buttons and wait until you are back on your lock screen, then proceed as normal. On Mar 9, 2014, at 8:50 PM, Keith Bundy wrote: > Hello, all. Cleaning Up Memory on iPhone 5
Hello, all. I am noticing that my iPhone 5, running the latest upgrade to IOS, is becoming rather slow. I noticed some real problems today when I was using my Brailliant display through Bluetooth. Is there a good, accessible app out there that would help me to clean up my phone's memory? I am assuming there is a lot of latent junk on it that needs to be done away with. Thanks for your thoughts.
