Not to rain on your parade, but there still are things which are better done on a computer bluetooth keyboard or not and in my opinion word processing and spreadsheets are in that category. Actually, email and web browsing for me are as well. I can read, compose and reply to email so fast on my PC and the same goes for navigating web pages let alone filling out stuff on them that there is just no comparison. Re: Free Writing App?
To make clear what I'm looking for, it's pretty simple: I need an app that can, at the very least, read already-created Word files. i need it to have basic reading and editing functions but to be focused primarily on word processing itself; I'm not interested in, for example, novel creation. I haven't experimented too much with Word or Pages but it sounds like I may need to try them. Scrivener is not something I'm willing to pay for, and it sounds like with Writer one can only create one document at a time. So, perhaps there simply isn't an app that fulfills what I'm looking for out there. That's what can happen when you pay once and everyone else interested has also paid once. The subscription model gives them the income they need to keep working on Ulysses in a more considered way than with other apps. With a one-time feee, you buy what you get but there's no funds or obligation for the developer to keep working on it. Also, in order to attract more customers, you need to make big changes with that in mind rather than the more considered changes you make when you rely on people sticking with you who like what you offered at the time you subscribed. Re: Free Writing App?
The Writing App I mentioned is set up to help you write a novel. You can create Characters, Chapters, and put together Items and other things. It collects all of these into Novels. A Novel Idea did the same sort of thing, but also added in the ability to link characters and ideas to multiple novels, and let you set up relationships between characters. Both are much more than just a word processor. Mark, Voice Dream Writer allows for text markup so your final document can be exported with headings, bullets, etc. You can export to RTF or Word. You can navigate and edit by headings, paragraphs or sentences. It has a great spell checker, and more. Writer is $9.99 but well worth it in my opinion. I know nothing about Scribner. MS-Word is free, but not very user friendly with VoiceOver. It is almost impossible to keep track of where you are in a document. It might be a little better than Pages, but not great. Richard (Sent from the iPod Touch 6) On Dec 7, 2017, at 5:39 AM, K.
