The Hable One is an external keyboard designed to make using a smartphone
simpler and more convenient for those with visual impairments.

Effortless smartphone navigation with Hable

With its intuitive touch commands, navigating your device has never been
easier. Hable One is small enough to take with you wherever you go, and its
impact on your daily device use will be life-changing.

Hable allows you to easily understand the touch screen, different types of

makes it user-friendly for elderly individuals who may have difficulty with
more complex swiping movements.

With Voice Control, a modern Braille System, Physical Buttons, and a long
Battery Life of up to a month, Hable One is a great solution for all!

Hello Dennis,
Is this a price drop from the previous cost or is this the standard price for
this device? Do you know if there is a newer model coming on the market? Thanks.
Suzanne.

RE: discounts on Hable One this holiday weekend

2022-11-25 Thread Dennis Long
>From the North State AT website::

The easiest Braille keyboard for your smartphone and tablet.

Use your phone more efficiently and easily in any situation. The Hable One is
the smallest braille keyboard for your phone. It has six braille buttons with
two additional function keys for typing and intuitive operation of VoiceOver or
TalkBack. Connect to any phone via Bluetooth.

The Hable One is really something for you in the following cases:

* You are relatively fast with navigating through your phone, but typing
takes a lot of time and is frustrating because of the many typing errors.
* You run into difficulties controlling VoiceOver or TalkBack because of
the many swiping movements.
* You’re on the go a lot and don’t want to lug around a big keyboard or
use dictation all the time.
* You are learning Braille or are a Braille fan.
* When you use the braille input on the iPhone, you make a lot of
mistakes.

The Hable One is extremely suitable for people who want to be able to type in
any situation without making mistakes. Because of the small size, you can take
the Hable One anywhere you go, and you will never have to take your phone out
of your pocket again. With the Hable One you simply control the entire phone in
a fast and intuitive way.

The Hable One is also very suitable for people who have problems controlling
VoiceOver or TalkBack. The physical buttons of the Hable One allow you to fully
control the phone in a much easier manner. This gives the you the ability to
use the entire phone without help from others.

If you have no or almost no experience with braille input, the Hable One is
perfect for learning. Several Hable One users have preceded you in this.
Because the Hable One feels like a controller, you quickly learn all the
combinations while playing. Before you know it, you will be typing on your
phone faster than ever.

Connect to your iPhone, iPad or Android smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth in
seconds. No installation necessary – just pair and go!

It may seem different at first to be holding a braille device, but I
got used to it quite fast.

Both are Braille devices but Hable is paired through Bluetooth settings. Orbit
needs a flat surface and cannot itself unlock iPhone in your pocket.

I still need to go to the web site, but I'm curious how it compares to the
Orbit Writer. I did see that you attach it as a Bluetooth input device and not
a braille device, so that's a big difference right there.

Re: Using iPhone while in pocket via Hable One!

2022-01-16 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
The hable one is a very simple braille keyboard. I wouldn't bother
with that Rivo2 if you gave me one for free. I heard a presentation
of the Rivo2 and it sounded extremely complicated. The Hable One
isn't that complicated. Someone who is older and knows braille would
have no trouble learning the Hable, whereas the Rivo2 would be much
more difficult.

Re: Using iPhone while in pocket via Hable One!

2022-01-16 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I heard about the Hable One from I think it was the blind apple list
that isn't this list. I was kind of a beta tester for the Hable One
here in the United States. I paid $200 for the device instead of the
usual $250. I don't know if that deal is still going on. The device
is small enough to fit into a pocket. You also don't set it down on a
hard surface like a table top, you hold the device in your hands.
This was a little different at first, but I quickly got used to it. I
really enjoy using my device. I can control the phone and do things
like, go from page to page through my apps, go from the top to the
bottom of the screen, do searches within different apps, and use the
app switcher and get home on whatever page I'm on. The very nice
thing about the Hable is, that it appears on your iPhone not as any
kind of braille device, but a regular bluetooth device, just like any
other device like a speaker or headset. I highly recommend anyone
interested in the Hable One, to visit the website, and to also
download the manual, or the user guide.

I have not heard of this keyboard. How does it work, and where can you get it?

I also have a hable one. I really like mine very much. I've not had
to many problems when writing text messages either short or longer.
I've also had my phone in my coat pocket and used the Hable One. I'm
so glad here in the U.S. I was able to get my hands on one.

Using iPhone while in pocket via Hable One!

2022-01-16 Thread 'Harry Bell' via VIPhone
I have just got a Hable One Braille keyboard which means I can now leave my
iPhone zipped up in my jacket pocket while I’m out and about. One great feature
is that it can wake and unlock the iPhone without delving through coats and
zips. It has several proprietary shortcuts for text editing or interaction
commands and for evoking Siri - otherwise it is a usual pocket-sized Braille
keyboard. It is laid out like a Braille Screen Input keyboard with dots 7 and 8
but no Space bar - for commands, you mostly just long press the keys instead of
adding in the space. I’ve used it for a couple of days and for the out and
about or quick use scenario it is very good. I prefer the Orbit Writer for
writing longer chunks of text and its Perkins layout is less tiring for that
task. Expensive but effective and not many keyboards can wake up and unlock
your iPhone and control all its functions while in your pocket!
