Re: Mail Annoyance with Message Threads

2024-06-18 Thread 'Candie Stiles' via VIPhone
I experience this exact same thing but I assumed it was a bug. I find it annoying and I just deal with it because I don't know how to fix it.Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 17, 2024, at 3:47 PM, lang...@gmail.com wrote:Hi,This situation has been around for years and I don’t know what to do about it. I’m running the native Mail app on an iPhone 12 Pro with the latest IOS.  I have Mail set up so that messages are threaded, which is particularly useful on high-traffic mailing lists when I want to temporarily ignore or trash a group of messages that don’t interest me. Though this doesn’t happen consistently, when I open a brand-new thread, VoiceOver will say that I’m in message 1 then immediately jump to message 2. I then have to use the rotor to get to Messages and swipe back to message 1. Does anybody else experience this and if so how did you solve it?Thanks in advance. Tom

Hi Tom, I thought we were probably using different approaches. I'll give yours a try the next time I think about it but I'll confess to staying stuck in a routine once I find one that works for me. Thanks for the clarification. Alan Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 17, 2024, at 5:26 PM, lang...@gmail.com wrote:Hi Alan,You wrote: I'm also using the native Mail app on the latest version of iOS but I'm not following your question. 2024-06-17 Thread Richard Turner
I often use Alan’s method. But I also use your method and don’t have the issue
of focus jumping off message 1, etc.

However, the expand thread message then treats each email as a separate email
so if you want to reply and not quote all the messages, the one you reply to
will be the one quoted below yours…

Mail Annoyance with Message Threads

2024-06-17 Thread lange85
Hi,

This situation has been around for years and I don't know what to do about
it. I'm running the native Mail app on an iPhone 12 Pro with the latest IOS.
I have Mail set up so that messages are threaded, which is particularly
useful on high-traffic mailing lists when I want to temporarily ignore or
trash a group of messages that don't interest me. Though this doesn't happen
consistently, when I open a brand-new thread, VoiceOver will say that I'm in
message 1 then immediately jump to message 2. I then have to use the rotor
to get to Messages and swipe back to message 1. Does anybody else experience
this and if so how did you solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Tom
