I have found that to be the case too. Some have said start from the right side
of the bottom. I just start from the bottom, usually the middle, but it works.
I have never missed a Home Button.

I would probably rather set up the action button to answer and hang up a phone
call since the swipe up from the bottom is a very easy and reliable gesture.
If setting up the action button for phone calls means you can press it also to
switch to a different call when you are on the phone that would be a very
useful feature.
It's too bad only on actiojn is possible right now, hopefully in time Apple
will make it possible to assign multiple actions by pressing once, twice
quickly or 3 times quickly just as a single, double or triple press of the side
button do different things.

Lastly, just as an addition to Joshua'sexplanation about the swipe up to go to
the homescreen, it is actually not necessary to do that swipe in the middle of

All,

I just set up my new iPhone Pro yesterday afternoon at the local Apple store.
• Apparently, as others have indicated, the overheating issue seems to have
been resolved. The phone operates at normal temperature inside the Apple
silicon case I purchased for the phone.
• One comment: my personal experience of the upgrade from an iPhone 8 to face
recognition on the 15 Pro is a bit of a challenge. It’s quite different.
• By the way, later in the evening I had great telephone support from the Apple
accessibility desk. I had a marathon session with one agent. Among other
things, the agent arranged for one of the left-side activation buttons (the top
button) to bring up the home screen. He did this by helping me create a
shortcut and using the activation button to initiate the shortcut. This helps
me maintain some semblance of long-established patterns of use. Great support
from Apple.

I don't think the regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have Titanium frames, but of
course I could be wrong.
Of course it's also beyond me why if you have an iPhone 14 Pro Max you would
buy a 15 Plus which has the exact same chip, it lacks the LiDAR sensor your 14
Pro Max has and as far as I can tell all you get is an action button to which
you can map one single function and you have a USB-C port instead of a
Lightning port.
Of course if you decide you don't want it any more you can send it to me, it is
starting to get cold up here in Northern British Columbia and this may make a
nice hand warmer 🤣

Hello All,

Well, I have been working with a 15 Plus for over a week. I have truly been
putting it through it proverbial paces and I can tell you that the device heats
up far faster and far warmer than does my beloved 14 Pro Max.

It's really quite interesting as I understand that the 15 Plus is just a 14
series inside that titanium case. Is this true?

Regardless, with only a screen protector installed and using a cheap $10 case I
purchased at the Apple store, using the device for any uninterrupted length of
time when performing longer tasks such as performing system restores, lengthy
GPS navigation, App updates (over 30 or so at a time) the phone really heats
up. I'm not saying it is heating to a dangerous level but I am saying that it
is heating up so much and so fast that I have decided to not purchase a 15 Pro
Max, this year

It will take a bit of time to learn how to use face ID and also the
new home gesture. But it is worth it in my opinion. The biggest
thing for me to learn, was the distance I needed between my face and
the phone. You don't hold the phone wright up to your face, but maybe
a foot away from your face. What I do, is have the phone on my lap
with the top of the phone facing away from me and that usually does it
for me. Good luck, and I hope you like your new phone.

Learn the swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the home
screen. It is easier. If I had known how easy face ID is, I never
would have gotten an iPhone 8 as my first phone. When doing the swipe
up from the bottom of the screen, I use the lightning port on my 13
pro max as a guide. With the 15 phones, use your USBC port to center
your swipe up gesture.

RE: New iPhone 15 Pro Operating at Normal Temperature

2023-10-24 Thread Cristóbal Muñoz
I personally use the assistive touch button for another way to jump to the home
screen along with the app switcher and control center. I’m most likely going to
upgrade from my XR to a 15 Pro/Pro Max, but will keep the assistive touch
button for the same purposes and probably use the action button for something
else.

Hello Richard and congratulations on your new iPhone 15 Pro. May it bring you
many years of accessible joy.

Also, thanks for the info about setting up the Action button to take you to the
home screen. That never would have occurred to me.

Great support
from Apple.

Best to all,

Richard Petty

Max, this year.

Of course I am comparing the 15 Plus with my beloved 14 Pro Max with the same
level of screen brightness.

Okay, just thought I would pass this along.

Keep in mind, this is just my experience: Your milage may vary.

I hope you are all doing well.

Re: New iPhone 15 Pro Operating at Normal Temperature

2023-10-23 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
Learn the swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the home
screen. It is easier. If I had known how easy face ID is, I never
would have gotten an iPhone 8 as my first phone. When doing the swipe
up from the bottom of the screen, I use the lightning port on my 13
pro max as a guide. With the 15 phones, use your USBC port to center
your swipe up gesture.
