Please refresh my memory
Hi All, My SE has finally been updated from IOS 9 to IOS 11. If my memory serves, I should now be able to do some things to keep the SE more like a 'regular' phone. 1. What should be done to keep the SE from changing from regular phone to speaker phone and back again 'automatically'?? 2. Is there something I can do to keep the phone from talking when I just pick it up? 3 Since I have made the update is there something that needs to be done so Siri will activate when I say 'Siri' instead of 'Hey Siri'? Thank you so much for any help you can give! Waiting in anticipation, Nancy and her SE -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. RE: Please refresh my memory
Are you on the developer beta or is the public iOS 11 beta out? I didn't get any notice, unless I have to sign up for iOS 11 beta separately. As for your questions, I know in iOS 10 these answers apply: 1. What should be done to keep the SE from changing from regular phone to speaker phone and back again 'automatically'?? I cannot find how to do this, but I know it is possible. Maybe someone else remembers. 2. Is there something I can do to keep the phone from talking when I just pick it up? To disable Raise to Wake, go to Settings > Display & Brightness. There, you’ll see an option labeled Raise to Wake, which will be enabled by default. Tap the toggle to change it from On to Off . You don’t need to reboot or do anything else to save your change; the feature will be disabled as soon as make your change. With Raise to Wake disabled, you’ll need to press either the Sleep/Wake button or Home Button to wake your iPhone’s screen. This effectively reverts the process back to how it worked in iOS 9 and earlier. 3 Since I have made the update is there something that needs to be done so Siri will activate when I say 'Siri' instead of 'Hey Siri'? I've not heard of this option but I suspect it is under the Siri settings. Thank you so much for any help you can give! RE: Please refresh my memory
Hi Nancy, If you had a friend update your iPhone to iOS 11 then you are on developer beta 2 and I truly hope your friend likes you better than to do this to you. There are some good features coming in iOS 11, but right now there still is a lot not working and nobody's primary device should be on iOS 11 right now. I would check in Settings > General > About and see what version you have or you can also go to Software Update since it will tell you the version there as well.
