Re: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
Hello, When I open settings and sounds and haptics, choosing ringtone, gives me two choices. Primary or secondary. When choosing one of those two options, I can set a ringtone for that corresponding phone number. I am actually running iOS 17.1. I honestly don’t know how long this functionality has been available. Re: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
The benefit Sieghard of locking phones is the great deals companies offer to attract new business. They can offer hundreds of dollars off the cost of a new iPhone. Often these deals require someone to sign up for a pricy phone plan they do not need. Over a two or three-year period, it would be a lot cheaper to pay full price for the iPhone from Apple and sign up for service from a MVNO. At other times, the service can be reasonably priced and the iPhone deal is lucrative. Consumers need to not just look at the phone discount but the price of the service as well. Overall, when companies compete for our business, we win. RE: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
Hello William, Assuming one wishes to use multiple eSIM cards from the same wireless provider, or its subsidiary, then a phone does not need to be unlocked. However, if one wishes to use multiple eSIM cards from non-partnered wireless providers, then the phone needs to be completely unlocked. RE: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
Hello All, 1. Using the eSIM generator app from T-Mobile, I easily created and setup a secondary number on my beloved 14. I must admit the process was remarkably simple and completely VoiceOver accessible. 2. I am truly impressed with the customization that is available when multiple eSIM cards are active on iPhone. 3. Cory, you mentioned that you can set a default ring tone for each eSIM number. Using the instructions you listed in a previous post, I do not see an option to select which telephone number will be set as the default ring tone for a number. What OS are you running on your phone? I am currently running iOS 16.7. If you can provide more detailed steps on how to select a default ringtone for each number, I would greatly appreciate it. RE: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
My phone was locked with AT&T, because of a deal that they offered on my iPhone 14 Pro. So, when I moved to a more rural area, and AT&T did not provide adequate coverage, I had to change to Verizon, which involved: 1. Paying off my 14 Pro. 2. Getting AT&T to unlock my phone. 3. Getting AT&T to give my phone number clearance for porting to Verizon. It took about 24 to 48 hours for each step to be cleared, but I now have Verizon with adequate coverage and good quality phone calls, which I did not have here with AT&T. I will say that AT&T was very cooperative. I got a text from Visa, wanting to make sure it was a valid withdrawal to pay off the phone, and they asked three security questions: Give my birth date in two digits. Give the middle two digits of my Social Security Number I forget the third security question, but I texted them all back satisfactorily. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Thursday, October 19, 2023 12:42 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone? The phone needs to be unlocked there are 2 types of unlock a full unlock and a temp unlock for when you travel I think at&t does this. VZW doesn't lock the phones anymore. RE: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
Hello Kathy, If you have a phone which is locked to AT&T then you will not be able to have a second SIM in the phone from a different provider. I am in Canada, but do carriers in the United States even still lock phones these days? Here in Canada that has been illegal for some years now and it's really a mute point since a locked phone does nothing to force you to stay with one carrier; contracts do that. If you buy an iPhone for example from AT&T and you have a contract in place where you pay a certain amount each months to pay off the phone, then you can't really leave that obligation whether the phone is locked or not unless you paid out whatever balance is remaining. I also understood that even if you are in a contract of some sort in the past and you had your phone for a certain amount of time, like 3 or 6 months, you could then request for the phone to be unlocked. Locking phones is the most ridiculous thing a carrier can do if they in fact still do it given how many people want to travel these days and potentially use a SIM from a provider in a different country for a few weeks. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Kathy Brandt Sent: Thursday, October 19, 2023 9:19 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Cc: M. Re: Question: Is Anyone Using two eSIM Cards in an iPhone?
Hi, I am currently using 2 ESims on my iPhone 14. You can have them both active at once. They are from 2 different providers. You can program them both to ring differently and play different message alert tones. I can see both connections at the top. It is working very well. Regards, Cory Jackson On 10/18/2023 1:21 PM, M. Using two numbers on my business cell. Tello and US Mobile. I don't have data on this phone, so I pay around $12 for each line.
