Re: College football on youri-device

2015-09-08 Thread Steve
As is usual, SiriusXm is prevented by NCAA rules from streaming the college
games. So, the only ones you'll see might be if they are carried by ESPN. You
can stream pro games, though.

I use OO-Tunes and do a search for the game I want like "Michigan State
Football". This usually results in a stream link, which seems to work a lot
better than trying to find over-the-air broadcast stations who often have their
live-streams blocked.

With all the talk of NFL, I'm curious about what people are doing this year for
efficiently finding and receiving college games. I could have sworn that sirius
XM had a lot of games in the past, but when I went on to radium and search
through all of the sirius XM stations they have, I did not find any reference
at all to any college football. On TuneIn, search for college football did turn
up some games, and then it degenerated into a mess, with various conference
names showing up, but double tapping on them did absolutely nothing. So, what
are folks doing to see the schedule and click on desired games in an efficient
manner?

That’s not true, actually. I believe each university can make that choice to
stream them online with Sirius or not. UT does, for example.

it's hit and miss. i have listened to the 49ers preseason games, even though

It might be fine with college football since they don't restrict broadcasts,
but for NFL it has to try and find a team that is ignoring the broadcast
restrictions so it will always be hit and miss for NFL games.

But, I've not had any problems finding a college game on Tunein and the sound
quality is always very good.

With all the talk of NFL, I'm curious about what people are doing this year
for efficiently finding and receiving college games. I could have sworn that
sirius XM had a lot of games in the past, but when I went on to radium and
search through all of the sirius XM stations they have, I did not find any
reference at all to any college football. On TuneIn, search for college
football did turn up some games, and then it degenerated into a mess, with
various conference names showing up, but double tapping on them did
absolutely nothing. So, what are folks doing to see the schedule and click
on desired games in an efficient manner?

2015-09-05 Thread Richard Turner
I use Tunein Radio, they have lots of college football.
I have the Ducks on right now.
The network is Oregon IMG Sports Network.
Others I know are available:Oregon State Beavers Sports Network powered by
Learfield Sports.
UCLA Sports Network from IMG
Standford Cardinals Sports Network powered by Learfield Sports.
Alabama Sports Network powered by Learfield Sports.
USC Trojans,
Arizona,
And probably most major college teams.

Mary, that's one sport that radium doesn't cover. They do all of the pro games,

Tune in radio is a good app for college football.

There are several different ones. The one I am using costs 9.99 per month,
and is listed as College Sports Live in the app store. You will need to use
a computer to sign up, and to put your credit card information in. It is
through CBS interactive, and is what used to be All Access through College
Sports TV. So far, it is usable with Voiceover. You just need to make sure
that the teams you like are among the teams they carry. I'm sure others will
tell you about other apps I own that you don't have to subscribe to, and
they are some good ones, but you take a chance that none of the radio
streams offered in those apps will work on all games. I really like college,
football, and try to get as many options to listen as I can even if it
requires several different apps to get what I want. Hope this helps.

Re: College Football

2014-09-05 Thread Brian Fischler
No it has something to do with streaming as if you were listening on a regular
radio it would not be delayed but for some reason all streaming audio has a
delay. Thanks Andy. I actually think this All football Radio might just be a
newer version of the apps that I already have as they look very similar as my
strictly college football radio also has schedules and scores so it looks like
the developer might have just finally combined both apps in to one and instead
of being 99 cents it's now 1.99 for both. Glad to see the app is still around
as besides the delay it is fantastic. The only other drawback and I haven't
checked if it is still the same this year is I do not think you can listen to a
game on 4G as at least last season you needed to be on Wifi for the game
streams to work.

It seems like it should be the other way. Video takes longer to encode and
the like, so TV should be behind the radio, but do the sports leagues make
radio artificially go behind to make the idea of turning down the TV and

RE: College Football

2014-09-01 Thread Nicki Keck
I also have to say I liked tune In Radio's coverage this year. True, they
probably don't have every team and every game, but the ones they do have are
the ESPN Radio feeds, which are nice and unbiased. Also, the games I really
wanted were available that way. I got the Alabama game, and when there
wasn't a game on in which either particular team was one I was totally
passionate about, I checked out the Purdue game and it was a really good
game too. So that is also an option. Maybe it's not one you want as your
only option, but it is nonetheless. Oh they also had the Compass college
feeds too which were also unbiased. Unless I have a team I am particularly
rooting for, I really enjoy when I can get unbiased coverage. Now I usually
like the Bama broadcasters, but because it was there and easy, I chose the
ESPN ones. And when it comes to pro, and the Eagles are playing, I don't
care how tired or easy it is, I will not choose an unbiased feed; Eagles
network all the way grin but I digress.
