Re: Direct touch on the rotor

2020-10-20 Thread Traci Duncan
I’ve noticed this when using Flicktype classic. Now, I need to flick in the app
a couple times, turn the rotor to find direct touch, flick that on, then I can
use Flicktype like normal. Kind of a pain. *Shrugs…

Re: Direct touch on the rotor

2020-10-19 Thread Wayne Merritt
I use Direct Touch when playing the accessible game Crafting Kingdom.
In iOS 13 and earlier, VoiceOver usually automatically set Direct
Touch when I opened the app. So far, in iOS 14 I have had to turn the
rotor to Direct Touch and then swipe down to turn it on. After that, I
was able to interact with the game. I do have to turn Direct Touch on
each time I enter Crafting Kingdom, which can be multiple times per
day, but it works fine after I turn it on. It can be tedious but is
not a big deal.

Be well,
Wayne Merritt

Re: Direct touch on the rotor

2020-10-19 Thread Anna Dresner
Hi Richard,

I don't know. It used to be that you double-tapped in an area that had Direct
Touch to activate it and touched elsewhere to resume using VoiceOver. I haven't
used an app that has Direct Touch in a while, so I'm not sure how the rotor
plays into it.

RE: Direct touch on the rotor

2020-10-19 Thread Richard Turner
Anna,
Do you still have to use the rotor to turn on direct touch in those situations?

It is making a mess of MBraille, though the developer thinks he may have that
solved very soon.

RE: Direct touch on the rotor

2020-10-19 Thread Richard Turner
Welcome to iOS 14 and its annoying behavior.
It messes up several things, most importantly for me, MBbraille, a third party
app for inputting braille.
I'd complain to accessibil...@apple.com
So far, I've seen no good reason for it being there.

others, I’ve never once regretted extending it.)" - Edward Herbert

Subject: Direct touch on the rotor

Hi again,

What is the direct touch on the rotor? Seems like I only see it when I’m
playing games. I don’t see any usefulness to it other than to annoy me. Smiley

Thanks again,

Kim
