Apple pay has broken itself for me of late. The card has money on it,
the phone is working, it recognises my finger however 'your payment
could not be processed'

RE: How Is ApplePay Used?

2019-06-06 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
No, Apple Pay is meant to be a secure payment method hence you cannot set it up
on an iPhone which is not passcode protected. I don't mention Touch Id or Face
Id because for either one you still have to first set up a passcode, they are
just easier ways to unlock your phone without having to enter your passcode
each time, but you can't set up Touch Id or Face Id without first having a
passcode hence it's really the passcode requirement which is necessary for
setting up Apple Pay.

RE: How Is ApplePay Used?

2019-06-06 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Fazil,

I assume you have a credit card and use tap? Apple Pay is no different instead
that instead of tapping your credit card to the terminal you hold your iPhone
very close over it and when the request pops up on the screen put your finger
to the Touch Id sensor as Wayne explained. Wayne, Fazil is in Canada and here I
would say 98 or 99% of businesses support Apple Pay because our credit cards
here have been chip cards for years and almost all places have contactless
terminals. In most places you can simply tap your credit card to the terminal
and that's it, usually this works only for transactions under $100, if it's
more you have to stick your card into the reader and enter your PIN, signatures
have been a thing of the past here for a long time.
