RE: Is Anyone Using the Google Authenticator? or the Microsoft Authenticator?
Hi Sieghard, I was hoping that the iOS authenticator would simply prompt me to either allow or not allow Twitter sign-in but, alas, it does not. Scenario, On my PC, when I login to my Twitter account, it prompts me for a verification code. Then I have to find the code from within the iOS password app and type it into the PC web browser, manually. The thing is, the only code that is valid is the one that appears from the moment you begin the log-in sequence on the PC. Once a new code appears on the phone, it will not work in the PC web browser. I thought that when I wanted to login from the PC, I would get a prompt from my iOS device to either allow or not allow the log-in. Oh well. By the way, it took me 15 tries to finally be fast enough to enter the Twitter verification code on my PC. Fortunately, I will not need to do this again, from that particular web browser unless I logout of my Twitter account. RE: Is Anyone Using the Google Authenticator? or the Microsoft Authenticator?
I use Microsoft Authenticator for 2-factor authentication of my various Microsoft accounts as well as for Dropbox, Amazon and I think one or two more. It's perfectly accessible and I assume the Google Authenticator app is as well, which one you should is very much your own decision and probably depends a bit on whether you are more in the Google or Microsoft ecosystem. I have a Google account, but 2-factor authentication is handled by the Google app so for me Microsoft Authenticator makes more sense because I can use for passwordless login to my Microsoft 365 accounts. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of M. RE: Is Anyone Using the Google Authenticator? or the Microsoft Authenticator?
Hello Jonathan and Everyone, First, let me thank all of you for confirming that the Microsoft authenticator app is VoiceOver accessible. If ever I need a third-party app, I will definitely try Microsoft's solution. Second, Jonathan, thank you for suggesting the iOS native password authenticator solution. I tried it and it works marvelously well. As some of you may know, after the recent acquisition of Twitter by, he who shall not be named, 2-factor authentication was automatically removed from all non-paying twitter accounts. In order to restore 2-factor via SMS, one must subscribe to Twitter Blue. Another way to enable 2-factor for Twitter is to use an authentication app. It never occurred to me to try the native iOS solution but thanks to this thread, I now have it working just fine. Again, thank you all.
