RE: New iPhone Mike and handy recorder app. was keeping phone calls and other things from interrupting my recording on an app
Sandy, I have not seen anything like this, but if I run across anything, I will let you and the list know. If you are in the States, you might check http://www.soundprofessionals.com They sell a lot of this kind of microphone and may well have something for the iPhone. Whether they would have anything for an older phone, I don’t know, but it might be worth a check. Re: New iPhone Mike and handy recorder app. was keeping phone calls and other things from interrupting my recording on an app
Yes, that's a good article. However, I'll even go more simple than that. If you have a dynamic mic, you must get directly in to the mic, with in 6-10 inches of it. Speaking directly in to it. If you get off to the sides, above, below. The sound is lost or greatly reduced. In a condenser mic, I can sit back in my chair & speak in or should we say, speak towards the mic. The mic will pick up a wider range of sound & from all sides. - Original Message - From: Neal Ewers To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Wednesday, February 05, 2014 00:39 Subject: RE: New iPhone Mike and handy recorder app. was keeping phone calls and other things from interrupting my recording on an app Ari, here is a very simple definition. Ari, on a more practical side, you can likely get a lot closer to a dynamic microphone than you can to a condenser thus cutting down on the background noise. Re: New iPhone Mike and handy recorder app. was keeping phone calls and other things from interrupting my recording on an app
I've thought about getting a mic to use with my iPhone 4S. I'd be using it mostly for voice recordings, but other background noise might be present. So, my question is, what's the difference between a condenser mic and a dynamic mic? Thanks, Ari > On Feb 4, 2014, at 2:26 PM, "Sean Paul" wrote: > > &, a couple downsides to that mic. &, a couple downsides to that mic. The price for starters & the fact that it's a condenser mic not a dynamic mic... That's what I love so much about my Audio Technica ATR-2100 mic, it is a dynamic mic which is much better for voice work. - Original Message - From: Neal Ewers To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Tuesday, February 04, 2014 17:18 Subject: New iPhone Mike and handy recorder app. was keeping phone calls and other things from interrupting my recording on an app Hi, there is not only a Zoom app, but a new zoom microphone that uses the lightning plug on the iDevice. The link to a demo I heard by Patrick Perdue is below, followed by my thoughts on the app. http://borris.me/audio/IQ5.mp3 Pros. Easy to start recording. Records in wav 44.1, 16 bit Works with the iPhone microphone, but is very full featured to work with the many settings on the microphone mentioned above. Cons. Some of the buttons are not labeled, but you can re-label them. Only shares with Sound Cloud. Otherwise you have to get the files off of iTunes. I will be getting my microphone tomorrow and may put up some short samples not covered in Patrick's very nice demo. Enjoy.
