RE: No Speech Though VO Is On
I had a similar situation last week. I was getting off a Zoom call and, I don't know if I did something or if it happened on its own, but all of a sudden I had no speech. Some other sounds I tried also did not work. I tried calling myy phone from another phone and it would not ring, but I could feel the vibration and answer the call. It was no on silent. VoiceOver was on and gestures for that were acting as you'd expect. Volume was fully up. I couldn't think of anything else to fix it. Even Siri wasn't working. I was just about to call Apple Accessibility in a panic when I tried making an outgoing phone call to see and, for whatever reason, that reset everything. Strangest thing and I cannot tell you what the issue really was. I was worried it was a bug in the newest IOS, but it hasn't happened again. Try to increase volume from rotor. Maybe you'll need help to do it. If you have volume activate in rotor and aptic vibration, you'll be able alone: try to flic up one finger each time you turn rotor. Mute doesn't stop Voiceover, but the volume could be down. Do you use a Bluetooth device? sometimes when my voice isn't speaking, it is because a Bluetooth device has hijacked my audio from my phone without me knowing it. Turn off Bluetooth. Re: No Speech Though VO Is On
Siri's volume is often different from VO. When that happened to me the VO volume was turned down even though Siri spoke at a comfortable volume. Also, sometimes a three-finger double-tap to turn speech on. Good luck! At 10:46 PM 8/28/2020, you wrote: I am running the most recent IOS version; phone is a new S.E. Battery charged; mute button not on, and the volume is sufficiently loud to hear Siri quite well. But no speech. Can someone help?
