Like I said, it's a folding keyboard. When folded it's about the size of a
small paperback book. When unfolded, it locks in place. It was meant to work
with IOS devices, so it has several dedicated keys on it, like a home key. You
can definitely touch type on it, although a few keys are in slightly different
positions. For example, the number keys 1 through
5 are shifted to the right a bit to make room for a few extra keys in the upper
left hand corner. The b key is a bit further away than normal since it's on the
other side of the fold.

Remember, I only recently got this keyboard, so I haven't put it through it's
paces yet. One of the reasons I got it, was I was able to purchase it locally,
so I could give it a try and return it if I didn't like it, but I don't plan on
returning it. I opted not to get a smaller keyboard that you could just thumb
type on because I feel I'm proficient enough with the virtual keyboard, and if
I was going to get a portable bluetooth keyboard, I wanted to be able to touch
type on it.

There have been several messages on this and other keyboards on the list
recently. I'd suggest checking out the archive and the applevis.com site.

Re: Verbatum keyboard [was Re: RII keyboard]

2012-07-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I'm not sure. I bought it at my local Radio Shack, as opposed to on
line, so I don't have anything I can check at the moment. When I get
some sighted help, I can see if someone can find a model number. Others
on the list have this keyboard, and I think they've probably pointed to
it on Amazon.com, so maybe they can also answer this question.

Re: Verbatum keyboard [was Re: RII keyboard]

2012-07-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I checked the archives myself, and that does seem to be the keyboard I
have. Note, I wanted the keyboard to use when traveling, so I could get
to touch type when showing up in hotels and the like without having to
carry around a full sized bluetooth keyboard. like i SAID, when walking
around, in a car or sitting in a restaurant, I don't mind using the
virtual keyboard.

BTW, here's the message I found from Julian in the archive:

Amazon has a better deal on that Verbatim folding keyboard which I
also use btw. Here's the link to purchase:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004L9LT2E/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1341281669sr=8-1
