Hi,

I'm not sure I understand your question. The information transfer via
bluetooth includes your WIFI and Apple ID information amongst other
things and once its been done there really isn't a need to do it
again.

So if you can only do this initially, how can you play your music on your

When you say "using your phone to setup Apple TV" do you refer to
controlling your Apple TV with the phone? If so, then you will have to
download Aple's "Remote" app which can do that.

You can, however, also use a bluetooth keyboard with an Apple TV and as
far

as I am concerned this gives you the best experience especially if you are
setting up accounts like Netflix, Youtube and so on for the first time
which

means you will have to enter your email address and password or maybe you
want to type in a search term quickly to maybe find a movie on Netflix.
I have a Logitech K811 which supports up to 3 devices and which is
particularly suited for this purpose. I have it paired with my 5S, my
wife's

iPod Touch and the Apple TV and all I have to do is press F1, F2 or F3
depending on which device I want to use it with.
You have to set up a bluetooth keyboard on your Apple TV in Settings and I
think it's under General and then bluetooth.

It's a play / pause button. E.G. when music or a video is playing press it
to pause it then press it again to resume playback. It's also used to turn
voiceover on - E.G. press it three times like you would do using tripple
click home.

Hi,

I was not aware that was possible, Smile! Something is still afoot with my
Apple I.D. because every time I try to make a purchase I end up tearing my
hair out and calling someone somewhere something. When we signed up for WWE
Network I locked up my bank card and when we signed up for Hulu Plus I had
to sign up on the computer because something is wrong with my Apple I.d. and
no one seems to know including me why my Apple I.D. works on my 5S but not
on my Apple TV.

I do love that ugly little hockey puck when it works though. I even use it
for Podcasts.

2015-01-07 Thread Ben Mustill-Rose
Hi,

I think Jen is referring to the initial setup where you can transfer
information like your Apple ID and WIFI password to the TV from your
phone by touching the two devices. I did this just before Christmas
because our unit wasn't booting for some reason and had to be
restored. I wasn't aware that this was possible even though I've
helped set up a few Apple TV's in my time so I can only assume that
it's part of a fairly recent software update; personally I think it's
a really handy feature.
@Jen, I think you can only do this when you first setup the device but
I could be wrong. It's definitely not something you can do every time
you need to enter information.

Cheers,
Ben.

RE: What's the button on the right hand corner on the apple tv used for

2015-01-06 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
When you say "using your phone to setup Apple TV" do you refer to controlling
your Apple TV with the phone? If so, then you will have to download Aple's
"Remote" app which can do that.

You can, however, also use a bluetooth keyboard with an Apple TV and as far as
I am concerned this gives you the best experience especially if you are setting
up accounts like Netflix, Youtube and so on for the first time which means you
will have to enter your email address and password or maybe you want to type in
a search term quickly to maybe find a movie on Netflix.
I have a Logitech K811 which supports up to 3 devices and which is particularly
suited for this purpose. I have it paired with my 5S, my wife's iPod Touch and
the Apple TV and all I have to do is press F1, F2 or F3 depending on which
device I want to use it with.
You have to set up a bluetooth keyboard on your Apple TV in Settings and I
think it's under General and then bluetooth.

Sieghard

Where do you go to set up that voice over shortcut click?
I have tried that and that doesn't do anything for me.
Also, I was told you could set up your itunes account etc using your phone to
set up apple tv.
I turned blue tooth on and put my phone by the apple tv but nothing happened.
