Re: bluez 2 by Aftershokz

2015-08-03 Thread Krister Ekstrom
Ok, so if the Bluez2 aren’t any good for calling, is there any other Bluetooth
headset that works well with all aspects of Blindsquare? My beloved Plantronics
Voyager legend is good when it comes to calling but it doesn’t work with the
Audio menu of Blindsquare, so what should i use instead?

Hi all, I just got a new set and when connecting, they say Device 1
connected! Does anyone know if the Blues 2 are able to pair with more
than one device at a time? My original After Shocx would still work fine
if I could charge them, but I broke the USB connector. I haven't
contacted the manufacturer to see if they can be repaired, but I plan on
checking it out, since I hate to think that they can't, seeing as they
are only about 6 months old!

They will only pair with one device at a time. I'm not sure what that "device
1" is about.

Aftershokz may offer to replace your set for free. At least, they've done that
for me a couple times now. It's worth trying, though you'll probably need
details like the serial number and date/place of purchase.

RE: bluez 2 by Aftershokz

2015-08-02 Thread Cristóbal
Yes, indeed. I gave up on using them as a hands free calling solution. Call
quality is really pretty crappy. I mainly use mine for working out. Stationary
bike, elyptical, resistance bands/cables, that sort of thing. I do like the
fact that I can work out with headphones and not get my ears all heated up and
sweaty.

I broke my set and ordered a replacement under the warranty. I just fixed the
broken ones with a cut up old credit card and some electircal tape and sold the
replacements on eBay instead of holding on to them. Good concept and they’re
even good for listening, but don’t’ expect any more than that.

That's one of m complaints about this headset. Siri and dictation are, I'm
pretty sure, a limitation of the current bluetooth standard used by Aftershokz,
and they'd need to make a whole new model to address the problem. Even then, I
don't know that upgrading to bluetooth 4 or 4.1 would fix things.

Call quality is the other problem I've run into. It's like the microphones just
don't work well, and the volume others hear is very low. I find the Bluez works
okay in quiet environments, and sometimes I can manage to use it while I'm
outside, but it's certainly not the best for making calls. Sorry I can't offer
more positive news.

Hi all,

I have the bluez 2 Aftershokz headset for my iPhone, and I like it a lot, but
there is one question I have. The voice quality on phone calls really sucks.
I had thought maybe sometimes, it was just a bad connection, but it seems like
it is really hard for people to hear me on it. Today, when I turned it off
while talking to a friend, she could hear me a lot better without it, but I
can’t and don’t want to talk on the phone while holding it to my ear all the
time. Also, SIRI and dictation are deplorable with this headset. Does anyone
have any tips for getting it to work better, or is there any firmware update or
something I can get that might improve this? Any help would be appreciated.
