RE: changes in drop box

2021-08-01 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
And lastly, if you are only using Dropbox for free then usage is limited to 3
devices. Even if you don't have 3 devices there is a chance old devices are
still listed on your account, you have to log in t Dropbox online and find this
so you can see if any devices are listed you don't use or even own any more. If
so you can delete them.

Hi,

The other question I had is whether you have enough room in your Dropbox for
editing? When I had very limited storage, I could not sync all of my files.
Just another thought.

Re: changes in drop box

2021-08-01 Thread Chris Chaffin

As far as Martin's question, if your Dropbox app is not staying in sync with
Dropbox on your computer, then it could possibly be one of a few things:
Your internet connection. Either your phone is not getting a good internet
connection in order for the app to update its files, or you have it set to only
update while on a WI-FI connection. As previously stated, Dropbox does not
actually download the files to your phone, but instead, you are viewing your
files that are online. So an internet connection is a must.
Or, Since your app on your phone is only viewing the files that are uploading
and online, I would check to make sure the files are properly uploading from
your computer. Maybe the syncing on your computer is paused for some reason.
Lastly, if all else fails, there is always a possibility that the app on your
phone for some reason is no longer synced with your Dropbox account. You can
test this by just logging out of the app on your phone and logging back in.

I have went through all of the settings on my computer, and I can not see any
specific setting that turns on or off syncing. The only setting that could be
effecting this, but I do not think so, is what they call smart sync. This
setting is not suppose to stop any file from actually syncing. It is only
suppose to help if you are limited with actual storage space on your computer.

Ann, as far as your work computer being a week behind your home computer, to
check to see if your syncing has been paused or something;
1, Go to the system tray by tabbing around past the task bar, then arrow to the
Dropbox icon in your system tray. It does not work for me if I bring up my
system tray in a dialog box like f11 does in Jaws.
2, Hit the application key or shift f10, then hit enter. You have to hit enter
in order to make the menu pop up.
3, Now arrow up until you hear, view sync issue, then if you arrow up one more
time, you should hear, pause syncing. If it says pause syncing, then that means
that syncing is turned on, and your Dropbox is currently syncing as it should.
If it does not say pause syncing, then that is your problem.

This is also how you get to your Dropbox settings. The settings is called
Preferences in the menu.

Hope this is helpful.

Chris
