Thanks so much Sieghard! Hubby cannot see either, but as you said the battery
causes the phone to chime and say charging so it is easy to tell. Had a friend
look online, and he saw the pics and said the same as you. By the way, happy
Thanksgiving Canadians, and know off topic but writing anyway! Smiles.

you plug it into the battery it will charge it back to 100%, if it is at 2% it
will do the same and if you totally run down the battery to the point where
your phone shuts down automatically, it will take 2 or 3 or maybe even 4

plug it into the wall charger.

You will most likely find that the battery will not charge your phone as fast

basically no different than if it’s plugged into a dedicated external battery.

As far as whether the battery is charging the phone or not you can easily see
this when you check the status bar, if you are, for example, down to 15% and
plug it into the battery, you ccan check the status bar battery indicator. If
it says “15%, charging”, then obviously it is getting power from the phone. If
it continues to just announce 15% and you don’t hear the sound it makes when
you plug it in your battery is most likely dead. Make sure you ask your husband
if your battery has an on/off switch and remember which position is on and
which is off so you can be sure the battery is turned on.

Asked about this yesterday so perhaps nobody has one of these so nobody knows
how to use? If that is the case, it is fine. I have contacted AT Guys, but
apparently they are not in today. My husband was able to tell me how to charge
the battery, and at least this time the charger is not hot, just warm, although
Aldo says the little square piece getting hot is normal.

What I really want to know is whether when charged the battery is used to
actually charge the phone with the cable from the iPhone charger or do you use
it as if it is a battery with the iPhone cable. Do the external batteries wrk
after you run out of internal battery power immediately or do you have to wait
an hour or so to have it charge the internal battery again? If nobody has this
battery, I guess I should not ask, but how do you know if the battery is turned
on? I know there are lights, but I have no vision at all. Thanks in advance
for any help, and if not, I guess I will talk to AT Guys on Monday. I saw you
can also buy the battery on Speeddots too.

Hi Regina,

I think all of these external batteries basically work the same. The battery
should have a regular USB plug in like you have on a computer or on your

You will most likely find that the battery will not charge your phone as
fast as the wall charger, but my laptop, for example, also takes longer to
charge my iPhone and if you plug it into a laptop that is running on battery
it's basically no different than if it's plugged into a dedicated external
