Hi everyone,
I hope you're doing well! We're working on implementing some features requested
here, and we're now onto the manual capture feature for the Supersense document
reader.
I'm curious to know what you think about the following interface change for
this.
First, there would be a setting in the menu. You could choose whether you
wanted Supersense to automatically capture the image once it believes it has
acquired a full image, or you can select manual capture. If manual capture is
selected, when you open document mode, Supersense would still give guidance
directions, but you could capture the image at any time using the volume up or
down buttons.
What do you think?

All the best,

That would be a welcome change. For me, everything should have that option,
and nothing should start scanning upon opening the app unless I have set it to
do that.

That has been my gripe since the beginning.

Note that this is a rather long form, so be prepared to take some time. I've
filled it out once before and there are many specific questions about which
device, operating system, program and other items you are using.

Good luck,

You can go to www.apple.com/feedback

You can also write to accessibil...@apple.com

Subject: feedback of the Total Reset on IOS 12.

Hi all.

As promised, I come here to give you feedback on the total reset I made
on IPhone SE, from the IOS 12 system.
Ok guys, with this reset everything return to normal...
I'm still not sure what might have happened for the installation of the
update to have failed with serious issues.
Everything was perfect to receive the update of IOS 12, and it was my
feeling that nothing could go wrong...
But I was wrong because the update was a disaster...
There's a little perchance that might make me think I had something to
do with it.
I had the profile of the Beta Apple TV 11 installed so the iOS 10 did
not update to iOS 11.
But before I did the iOS 10 update, for iOS 12, I had removed the profile.

I will never know what caused the problems with this update to IOS 12.

Once again, I want to thank you all who have had a friendly
understanding to my post full of fury...
thank you friends.
And to all the other members of this wonderful group, I Mario Navarro, I
want to apologize for having offended you in your best feelings with
apple, with my bad use of language...
sorry guys.

Long live to everyone.
God bless you all.

cheers.

RE: feedback of the Total Reset on IOS 12.

2018-09-22 Thread Alan Lemly
Mario,

That is great news. I'm planning my update from iOS 11.4.1 to iOS 12 later next
week and it's good to know you're getting consistent results with what others
have posted. I've used computers, iPhones, and the software that runs on them
long enough to know that the only certain consistency with them is that you can
expect much inconsistency.

Hi all.

As promised, I come here to give you feedback on the total reset I made on
IPhone SE, from the IOS 12 system.
Ok guys, with this reset everything return to normal...
I'm still not sure what might have happened for the installation of the update
to have failed with serious issues.
Everything was perfect to receive the update of IOS 12, and it was my feeling
that nothing could go wrong...
But I was wrong because the update was a disaster...
There's a little perchance that might make me think I had something to do with
it.
I had the profile of the Beta Apple TV 11 installed so the iOS 10 did not
update to iOS 11.
But before I did the iOS 10 update, for iOS 12, I had removed the profile.

I will never know what caused the problems with this update to IOS 12.

Once again, I want to thank you all who have had a friendly understanding to my
post full of fury...
thank you friends.
And to all the other members of this wonderful group, I Mario Navarro, I want
to apologize for having offended you in your best feelings with apple, with my
bad use of language...
sorry guys.

Long live to everyone.
God bless you all.

cheers.

RE: Feedback on IOS applications

2017-05-02 Thread Chip Orange
Blind Abilities is very helpful for giving you easy access to blindness
podcasts, they've started a nice series for IOS beginners as well.

AI Polyvision is interesting and fun to play with, but it drains your battery
enormously quickly, and yet never has provided me with what I'd call useful
info.

I think for the money, the $10 barcode reader app named Digit-Eyes is very
helpful, and the Identify app for color/clothing description is also good.

Hth,

Chip

RE: Feedback on IOS applications

2017-05-02 Thread Mike Ulrich
I'll tell you one thing; Be My Eyes rocks much better than Bespecular. I have
both and BME is much faster and if you've taken a bad picture; the BME
volunteer will just tell you in real time to turn the can or whatever so they
can get a better look at it.
With Bespecular you have to take another picture and submit it all over again.
See what I'm saying?
Hope this helps.

Re: Feedback wanted, braille screen input on an iPhone 5S, does it work? Is it worth trying?

2016-01-09 Thread Gordan Radić

Hi!
I use Braille almost as long as I use iPhone and it's a bit over
three yars now. I started with Braille Touch than MBraille and I
tested some more apps including iOS native Braille keyboard
introduced in iOS 8 and I can say it's completely usable. It has
some itches such as upper dots 1 and 4 dissapear from the screen and
the rest o the dots are moved up accordingly but this is easily
calibrated by double tapping l and 4 5 6 to recalibrate.
In iOS 9 is possible to lock the keyboard in the landscape
orientation and it's more stable than in iOS 8.
The only con I have for this is lack of support for my native
language but I believe it will be sorted out in the future.
P.S. Regarding screen size, I used it on 4S, 5 and 6S Plus and it
worked everywhere.

  S poštovanjem

So, the phone came with IOS8.4, and I have noticed, that braille screen input was more than useless. Because of that reason, despite that I would much rather have not, decided to update this thing to 9.2. Everything went smooth (some things are a little new to me) braille is slightly better, but is still not there. Yet, braille is the only thing I use on the iPad air 1, so I know that this should work. With the air, I literally make no mistakes. Yes, dot 3 is not being recognised, if at all. I don't think that it is a screen issue, either, since I can calibrate, and if I keep tapping by itself, I'll eventually get the dot 3 to enter, but only by itself. If I add a d

Re: Feedback to Apple [was "Re: Power saving mode"]

2015-09-19 Thread Gmail
I should use that forum to suggest they put a switch for the power saving mode
in control center, along with a switch for cellular data. I've been wanting the
cellular data switch to be in the control center for quite a while now. I'd
also like the ability to add or remove things from the control center, along
with the ability to reorganize the icons.

Thanks,

RE: [Bulk] Re: feedback from a multi-lingual user

2014-12-03 Thread Zoe Fiogkos
Hi I can also confirm these bugs. I use English and Greek. Speech rate
changes on it's own, however in my case autodetect languages in mail, text
messages, notifications etc. works but doesn't work properly. Meaning when
Greek text is detected voiceover starts speaking Greek, but it does it
improperly. What do I mean you ask? It reads letters instead of words and
sentences, and it reads some of the Greek letters in Greek and some in English,
so I hear 2 voices. Of course as soon as the language is detected since I know
of this problem, I use the roter and switch languages and problem solved and
I'm able to hear the proper text by the proper voice. I have told apple about
this way back in ios 6 but they haven't fixed it. The issue of the speech rate
changing came with the latest update.
I'm still happy that my iPhone can read my native tongue so no complaints, and
I am greatful that with the new and latest update Greek has been included in
the dictate feature that comes with voiceover accessability. Before the latest
update I had to use dragon dictate for anything I wanted to write in Greek but
now I have the dictate, now only if they would add a Greek spell check that
would be great.
Regards
Zoe

Along the same line... Even though I don't have Spanish Spain selected as one
of my languages (I have Spanish Mexico instead), when switching to the Spanish
language keyboard for dictation or typing, VO speaks the keyboard buttons with
the Spanish Spain accent and not at the rate I have the alternate language set
to. The actual text is indeed spoken with the proper accented Spanish language
voice when I switch it via the rotor, but for this issue with the
multi-language keyboards.

I don't know if they're ever going to get to it, but I did report it along

alternative.
I was going to downgrade but I waited too long now I have to upgrade to

Is it too full of bugs as well?

I just wrote to apple about the touch tones sticking.
I don't know if they're ever going to get to it, but I did report it along
with the fact that if they don't do something to fix their accessibility
problems then people will look to their competition for a better
 alternative.
I was going to downgrade but I waited too long now I have to upgrade to
 8.0.2.
Is it too full of bugs as well?
 Thanks.

I've tried to do do that once before, when I close the app it still keeps
one making the tone.
Lol I don't know if it's just me having bad luck or what but somethings
wrong.
And you've guessed it, I didn't get the chance to downgrade, waited too
long. Lol.
But that's okay I guess, maybe they will fix this annoying bug soon.
Other wise I'm not having much dificulty with things.

Hello Danielle,

Did you allow Skype the use of the microphone? It would have asked the first
time you opened Skype after upgrading to iOS 7.

You can go to Settings and Privacy and at the end of the list which starts
with Location Services is Microphone. Double tap and see if Skype is listed
here and that it is set to On.

Sieghard

Hi Denise, you can be sure of it.

However, this is absolutely not a substitute for accessibil...@apple.com as
this list is high-traffic and any Apple peeps here are here on their own time
because they want to be. So do remember to always always always direct your
concerns first and foremost to accessibil...@apple.com

RE: Feedback email address Concerning IOS 7 issues

2013-09-22 Thread Raymond Bishop
accessibil...@apple.com is a good email however, if you notice what I said,
this is specific feedback given for IOS 7 and the feedb...@apple.com is what
they are monitoring currently for IOS 7 issues. You however, can email
wherever you like.

I don't think that would be an unreasonable effort on their part since Apple

RE: Feedback email address Concerning IOS 7 issues

2013-09-22 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Denise,

As far as I know they don't and I don't feel like somebody there should
spend a couple of hours each day listen to the sometimes redundant and petty
chatter especially since they made it so super easy for anybody to submit
email requests and even to call them on a direct toll free number. After
all, while Viphone might be one of the bigger lists out there, there are
others and in Europe there are many more and if we expect them to monitor
Viphone then one could say they should also monitor other lists.

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi,
I am not of course saying they should be required. I just meant the e-mail
particularly after a major update like IOs 7 would give them an idea of how
things are going regarding vo and the new operating system.
Your point about many other lists is well taken however.

Perhaps, but accessibility is a major effort for Apple, and for developers

recommend that interested users compile a list of apps that do a good job
for inclusion in the magazine or at least online. I can submit it for

Re: Feedback wanted on an upcoming accessible menu app

2013-04-17 Thread Alan Paganelli
I enjoy the iPhone life magazine. I enjoy reading the bogs directly from the
iPhone life app. it would really be nice if when they are talking about new
apps though if there were a comment about accessibility with VO. I know it's
just wishful thinking. Still, it would be a great step forward.

Subject: Feedback wanted on an upcoming accessible menu app

  Greetings,

Some of you may recall I developed the AutoRingtone app for Talking Caller
ID. My latest venture is All Access Menus, and we are working on a menu
directory that is designed to be accessible, both to low vision and hearing
impaired communities. The app will offer talking menus as well as discounts,
events and more.

I would love your feedback. We have a survey at
http://AllAccessMenus.com/survey

Re: Feedback wanted on an upcoming accessible menu app

2013-04-17 Thread David Chittenden
Given how few blind people there are, and how few apps blind people purchase,
it will probably never happen. Before you say blind people have purchased
300,000 iPhones, remember that Apple sells over 17 million every three months.
In the same time that blind people purchased 0.3 of a million iPhones, everyone
else purchased about 300 million iPhones. We really are a tiny drop in the
bucket.

Re: Feedback wanted on an upcoming accessible menu app

2013-04-17 Thread Todd Bernhard
Perhaps, but accessibility is a major effort for Apple, and for developers like
myself. iPhone Life is always looking for contributors so I would recommend
that interested users compile a list of apps that do a good job for inclusion
in the magazine or at least online. I can submit it for inclusion.
