not sure, as I don't have it on all the time, so not something I have had to
think about.

not want the chime to go off. Isn’t it possible to do this?

That one sounds good, Simon.

Last night, while in Bible study, I was the first caller on Zoom. While
waiting for the meeting to start, I checked the time, and somehow or
other, from that time until we were through, about an hour and 15 minutes
later, VO kept announcing the time every minute. It was not obtrusive, and
I didn't mind, so didn't shut it off or try to. I'm not sure what I did to
get that started or what I would have had to do to get it stopped.

The chimes for every 15 minutes, especially with different tones sound
really good.

personally, I like timeChime. as one can turn it on and off as required
easily, and rather than just every hour, you can select every 15, 30, or
60mins for the alerts. also you can select different sounds for the 15/45,
30, and hourly alerts, meaning that if you can't always take the phone out
and look at the time, the different sounds will give you a good idea. I
use it when I am out riding, as with the different sounds, it gives me a
good way of telling how long I have been out, with out actually needing to
take the phone out, or fiddle with a watch, whilst I have my hands
occupied with lizzie's reins.

the app is completely accessible as well.

RE: looking for an app that gives the time every hour

2020-09-24 Thread Richard Turner
The first actual button, says if you want every quarter hour, etc. Double
tapping that will toggle through the options there.
Flick right once and you hear the word "From."
Flick right again and it will say something like 6 AM.
You can double tap on that to increase by one hour, or flick right again to
something that says ic Chevron left button, clock. That will decrease the time
by one hour. Then, IC Chevron right button, clock, would increase the time by
one hour.
Next is "til" followed by a PM time.
With the same buttons to increase or decrease by one hour.
Then, Using, and a button that will toggle you through speech, female, speech
male, and the various tones.

If you want to have it on for a certain number of hours, then off, then on
again, it doesn't do that.
You can have it from say 8AM to 5PM, or whatever, but the start and end times
are all you can set.
Then, double tap on which won't change but it confirms it is on.
Then, you have to make sure you have notifications set to on for the Chime app.

RE: looking for an app that gives the time every hour

2020-09-24 Thread Ekstrand, Pamela A. -ND
Carolyn, you may have had focus on the time in the status bar and that is why
it kept announcing it.

That one sounds good, Simon.

Last night, while in Bible study, I was the first caller on Zoom. While waiting
for the meeting to start, I checked the time, and somehow or other, from that
time until we were through, about an hour and 15 minutes later, VO kept
announcing the time every minute. It was not obtrusive, and I didn't mind, so
didn't shut it off or try to. I'm not sure what I did to get that started or
what I would have had to do to get it stopped.

The chimes for every 15 minutes, especially with different tones sound really
good.

personally, I like timeChime. as one can turn it on and off as required easily,
and rather than just every hour, you can select every 15, 30, or 60mins for the
alerts. also you can select different sounds for the 15/45, 30, and hourly
alerts, meaning that if you can't always take the phone out and look at the
time, the different sounds will give you a good idea. I use it when I am out
riding, as with the different sounds, it gives me a good way of telling how
long I have been out, with out actually needing to take the phone out, or
fiddle with a watch, whilst I have my hands occupied with lizzie's reins.
the app is completely accessible as well.

personally, I like timeChime. as one can turn it on and off as required
easily, and rather than just every hour, you can select every 15, 30, or
60mins for the alerts. also you can select different sounds for the 15/45,
30, and hourly alerts, meaning that if you can't always take the phone out
and look at the time, the different sounds will give you a good idea. I use
it when I am out riding, as with the different sounds, it gives me a good
way of telling how long I have been out, with out actually needing to take
the phone out, or fiddle with a watch, whilst I have my hands occupied with
lizzie's reins.

the app is completely accessible as well.

You have to have voice clock open and running in the background, while Chime
just has to have notifications turned on.

To my knowledge, VoiceClock does not chime but it will verbally give the time
on the hour.
