She is a new contact if she is not already in your contacts.
Since she is not already in your contacts, she is a new contact.

The far easiest way, is to double tap on the number so it calls her.
You can hang up or let it go through and then hang up.
But from the phone app, Recent calls screen, touch her number and flick up to
More Info and double tap and flick right until you find add to contacts, and
you will have the choice of creating a new one or adding to an existing contact.

Re: adding a contact

2021-05-10 Thread Kelly Pierce
Apple requires multiple steps in iOS 14 to turn a text message into a
contact to prevent cluttering contacts. First double tap the message.
Then double tap the phone number from where the message was sent. In
the next window, double tap info. A new pop up menu appears and
double tap the selection named info again where you can save the text
message information in your contacts.

RE: Adding a contact from a text message [was "Re: Couple of IOS 12 Questions"]

2018-09-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I posted it a few days ago and personally find it relatively straight forward,
the only time something is not announced as a button is the phone number at the
top right after you double tap on the conversation. I can see where somebody
might be confused and not tryto double tap on it since it is not indicated as
something you can tap on.
Compared to prior version this first step really is the only extra step, before
the Details button was there at the top right and you had to tap on it, then
tap on the phone number again once the detail screen opened and then find the
Create New Contact button.
I guess Apple could maybe include “Create New Contact” or “Add to Existing
Contact” as a rotor action? Not sure if that is possible, but for those who
find the current method too diffficult they could maybe write to Apple
Accessibility and suggest it.

To add someone who sent you a text message to your contact list:

1) Double tap on the conversation to expand it.

2) Double tap on the phone number at the top of the page.

3) Double tap on the Info button near the top of the page.

4) Double tap on the number at the top of the page.

5) Double tap on the create new contact button near the bottom of the list of
options.

Thanks to someone who posted this earlier, but it still takes me some trial and
error to finally get into the right list of options.

RE: Adding A contact

2014-03-12 Thread Hicks Steven (CORNWALL IT SERVICES)
Thanks, I can bring up the roter while entering a message but I still coldn't
get to the text that I had typed to move up and down.
When I have turned the roter to letters for example, do I need to double tap
the screen to accept it or do I need to find the text on the screen and double
tap to go in to the field again?

Using the roter can be tricky. What you do is take two fingers and twist them
like you would a radio knob. I for instance use my thumb and index finger and
put them in the middle of the screen then twist left or right. When it says
characters, then you can flick up and down to go by them. Same with words
lines, etc.

Hope this helps,

Jenn

what I would do.

First, turn the roter to characters.

Double tap on the edit field. After you hear the message telling you
the field is being edited, flick up and down with one finger to move
the cursor by one character at a time. Keep in mind that if you wish
to delete a character, you must move the cursor beyond that character
then tap the delete key to delete the character immediately before the
cursor.

I hope that helps.

Using the roter can be tricky. What you do is take two fingers and twist
them like you would a radio knob. I for instance use my thumb and index
finger and put them in the middle of the screen then twist left or right.
When it says characters, then you can flick up and down to go by them. Same
 with words lines, etc.

 Hope this helps,

 Jenn

Using the roter can be tricky. What you do is take two fingers and twist them
like you would a radio knob. I for instance use my thumb and index finger and
put them in the middle of the screen then twist left or right. When it says
characters, then you can flick up and down to go by them. Same with words
lines, etc.

Hope this helps,

Jenn

This is a bug in the current iOS. You can only inter information from scratch,
you cannot edit it.

 Hi friends,

I am adding a contact on to my IPhone and have clicked in the number box.
It says that the pointer is at the start and I need to edit the number as I
 have typed it in incorrectly.
How do I move around the edit box character by character to be able to
 delete numbers?

Re: adding a contact from my recent calls

2012-11-10 Thread Raul A. Gallegos

Hi there. To add a contact from your recent call list do the following.

1. Go to the phone app and then double-tap the recent button at the bottom.

2. Find the number you want to add.

3. Swipe once to the right with one finger and you will reach the more
button for that number.

4. Double tap the more button for that number and you will be asked what
you want to do with that number. One of the options is to add to a new
contact. Double tap that.

5. Now you are taken to the new contact screen where you can fill in
whatever information you want for the number. I think that by default
the number is assumed to be a mobile number.

Cheers!
