RE: Facebook app frustrations

2013-06-17 Thread Alan Lemly
Facebook 6.1.1, the latest version, is not as accessible with like buttons,
etc. as was the previous version. I deleted it and restored my backup copy
of Facebook 6.0.2 and it works much better.

Hello Christine,
I too had the same problem, the way I worked around it is I double tap on
one of the notifications and once in the actual notification then the back
button appears which takes you to the news feed or your main menu.
When I first started using the facebook app, and I would be flicking to the
left to brouse the newsfeed I was able to stop on a certain post and feel
for the like button and when voiceover would confirm that I was there I
would double tap it, however this is no longer the case, now when I want to
like or comment or see likes or comments I half to actually stop on the post

I want double tap it to enter and then all the options are visible and
working. Note for me the like button sometimes seems like its sticking when

I touch it so I touch it a few times until I hear voiceover speak the word
like once and not one thousand and then I double tap, when I hear unlike
then I hit the back button to go back to the main newsfeed.
Hope this helps, Regards Zoe

Hello Christine,
I too feel your frustration with the Face Book app. Unfortunately, I don't
have the answers to all your questions, but one thing I have noticed is
with the Back Button in Notifications, your not imagining it, "Yes" it is
missing.
I had my Daughter take a look at the screen, just incase the button might
have been moved to a newer location on the screen, I think lately, the App
might have been updated and the Back button is no longer there.
So, what I found does work, is to double tap on the Notification
Heading and that shouldprompt you out of that screen and allow you
access to the main screen again.
Try this, it should work, I know I was stuck in that one screen myself,
and it was a pain to get out.
Hope this helps.

All righty, fellow Facebook folks: I am trying to figure out why, and more
importantly, if there is a workaround for the following issues:
1. "Liking" something sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. (I find this is
true both on the phone and on my Mac.)
2. When I want to see who "liked" a post, sometimes it will show me, and
other times it will go to the one page of the last person to like. There
does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to this.
3. When I check my notifications, on the phone, there does not seem to be a
back button; am I missing something?
4. Sometimes when I want to "like" on someone's page because of something
shared, I can only like the shared link on its original page, not on my
friend's page.
5. There are times when I click on a friend's page to read further something
posted, and the app does nothing at all.
6. Sometimes I cannot get to the posted link, or read the comments. (I
realize some people's privacy settings might not permit me to see their
comments, but it is unlikely that this is true of all of the people on the
larger sites I am referring to.)

Any workarounds, explanations, and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Happy Father's Day to those to whom it applies.

Re: Facebook app frustrations

2013-06-16 Thread Keith Bundy
Hi, Christine. I have workarounds for two things. When you want to like
something, sometimes you have to press like two or three times before it
accepts it. I don't know why, but that just seems to be the case

On the notifications page, I have to use the two finger scrub motion in order
to go back, as it does not seem to be a back button. But this works for me.
Give it a try.
