Re: How does the new credit card chip and pin process impact ApplePay?

2015-10-27 Thread Julian
Hi Keith,

Yes, you are correct. You select one card as your default, which in my case is
the one I used for my iTunes purchases, and then you add others. At the time of
purchase you can do nothing which will then bill your default card or select
from one of the other cards to bill if that is what you wish.

How does having multiple cards within ApplePay work? Do you select a preferred
card that is the default (and then swithch from personal card to business card,
if necessary), or do you select from among the available cards at time of

Oh, so they have to set that up? Interesting. I wonder what kind of cost would
be involved for the merchants because that could affect their decision.

Those machines are more likely to accept apple pay since they are
using newer technology. It depends on whether the business wants to
implament it.

So, I have heard very little about this but I know of a few local businesses
that have upgraded their credit card machines to read the NFC chips according

Will those machines read the iPhones with apple pay? Or do our phones only work

RE: How does the new credit card chip and pin process impact ApplePay?

2015-10-27 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Keith,

Receiving your new credit card, with a chip, will not affect your Apple Pay
settings.

That is to say, when you activate the new card, assuming it is an update to an
old card that was previously authorized for Apple Pay, you will not have to
reauthorize it, at least, I did not nor anyone I know who has received a chip
enabled card.

Mark

Hi,

I haven't yet received the promised credit card update to chip and pin, but I'm
wondering how this may impact ApplePay?

Has anyone run into this or know about it?

Thanks in advance. Keith

It shouldn't because the new cards still have strips on them so that
they will work with old readers.
