Re: IOS 7 visual issues and a couple comments

2013-09-20 Thread Tessa
Hi, I don't find turning motion off makes any difference in background
lighting.
One thing to note is that when there are items in the locked screen,
notifications from facebook or whatever then the old dark grey with white
writing is back, but once you unlock the screen the glaring light grey
background returns with a vengence, there is an option under accessibility
to increase contrast, but having tried it I really can't see where or in
which apps it actually functions.

and on other issues. I tried switching to the male voice for siri and it
won't work, maybe that option isn't available in Canada?

I find when switching pages even touching the page with a finger causes
another page switch, or when increasing or decreasing brightness simply
touching the screen after swiping adds yet another swipe even though you
aren't swiping. Rather frustrating.

I didn't see a comment on list about folders, but I haven't kept up with all

assuming now you can get 18 items into one which is great, anyone gone

One thing that does bug me, when moving an item out of a folder you have to
hold it outside the folder for a full 5 seconds before the folder closes,
now that is down right tedious. one or two seconds might be reasonable, but
five??

Re: folders Re: IOS 7 visual issues and a couple comments

2013-09-20 Thread Kellie and my lab pack

Hey Tessa,
Folders can actually have multiple pages now so the number of apps in each
is much larger.
I don't know if there is a cap on how many pages a folder can have, but my
games folder has 38 apps in it just as an example. I always wished that you
could have multiple pages in a folder because I hated having multiple
folders with the same name and now I do.

I agree that having to wait for 5 seconds is a bit tedius. This is also
where I notice the sensativity most when working with the screen.
when I was moving apps around, sometimes it would not open the folder I
wanted to move the app into, while at other times it would. Also, if the
folder I wanted to move the app too, was in the first or 4th column, it
would frequently switch to the previous or next page, which got a bit
frustrating. It made moving apps a bit more time consuming then I was used
too. I got better as I worked with it more but was surprised on how quickly
the pages switched. Pages switching quickly is in complete contrast to how
it was on the old IOS, at least that was my experience.

I did notice that the sounds to indicate what position the app was in,
doesn't appear as reliable as prior versions. Sometimes I would hear the
blip and it would say, column 4, row 4 but more often then not, I didn't get
any indication of where I was dragging the app to.

Both male and female Siri voices appear if you have English Canada set as well.
I thought the male and female voices were supposed to be available in US
English only but they are both working in English Canada.

Neither the female nor mail voice for Siri are working for me. I can only
see the responses in the text boxes. She or he does not talk to me.
