Re: Is there a voiceover tutorial when setting up an iphone from scratch?

2014-07-01 Thread Flor Lynch
As I understand it, there are a number of options available on the
Triple Click Home button to begin with, one of which is voiceOver.
Another is hearing Aid Compatibility Mode, and there is another whose
name escapes me right now. the four-finger double-tap seems to me to be
a VO specific gesture. I am not sure how we could get all of the options
on without choosing one of the triple click home options and not the
other(s). My phone was set up for me in the shop with VO and hearing aid
mode on.

No. But I wonder if a four finger double tap would work in the stages of
setting up an iOS device.

Re: Is there a voiceover tutorial when setting up an iphone from scratch?

2014-07-01 Thread Alan Paganelli
The quickest way to get Voice Over going on a brand new iPhone is to hold
down the home button until you hear the Siri tone that she's listening and
then just say Turn Voice Over on When I got my 5s on October 20, 2013,
the salesmen was very nice but had no experience with voice over so what
does he do? Like all sighted people would do, he starts to read the manual.
He's looking in accessibility and reading and reading and I had enough and
said, just tell siri to turn voice over on. I could tell by the sound of
his voice he was not sure that would work but he gave it a shot and held
down the home button. Then he heard the siri tone and said turn voice over
on and guess who started talking. Then wile talking to the guy, he tells me
that his father is blind and he may get an iPhone for his father now that he
knows how easy it is.

Once voice ov er is turned on via siri, you can then go in to settings,
voice over and set triple click home to voice over.

No, there really isn't when first setting up. However, you can set up VO in
